DMS Chapter 107

Flinx dispelled his elementals and started examining the total loot that he acquired from delving into the last floor of the Dungeon of Mara twice that day. From the treasure chests, he had only acquired a total of two items, one item per chest, for each of the delve that he did. He had expected as much because, according to the information booklet that was given to him by the guild regarding dungeon delving into the Mara Dungeon, item loot was rare.

The only reason he had received quite a number of them was that it was his first time raiding the floors of the dungeon. Since his delve for that day was his second and third delve on the Dungeon of Mara’s last floor, it was normal for him to receive just one item per delve. He was even warned to expect that sometimes he would receive no items at all.

Flinx used his 1st level Identify spell to identify what looked like a pair of steel bracers and a steel wand. Both items looked good with the two items surrounded by the aura of powerful magic. When he identified the wand first, his spell actually failed, which flabbergasted him. It also excited him a little because it meant that the wand was a little more powerful than normal. He slotted the Identify spell on a higher-level spell slot, and he had successfully identified the wand.

The wand was called the Wand of the Fire Mage. The wand would allow the user to cast the Fireball spell 5 times a day, the Incinerate spell 3 times a day, and the Meteor spell once a day. Flinx had to admit that the wand was powerful enough, but he thought that he didn’t need it. Still, instead of selling it, he would just keep it in his 4th tab space since there might come a time when he might need it.

The pair of bracers was called the Shield Warrior’s Bracers. The user of the bracer would receive enhanced defense. The bracers would also protect the wearer by automatically casting the Shield Spell when the wearer receives a greater-than-normal attack, and the shield spell would last until broken. The bracers would be able to use the shield spell protection to protect the wearer twice a day.

Flinx thought that the pair of steel bracers’ abilities were useful to him, so he decided to use them.

After that, he turned his attention to the mana stones that he had acquired. He managed to collect a total of 40 low-level mana stones, 35 medium-level mana stones, and 18 high-level mana stones. Flinx had to admit that his mana stones earned from the Dungeon of Mara were extremely abundant.

When he was done checking out the loot, he checked the most important thing, which was the experience points that he had received from delving into the last of the Mara Dungeon twice. Before his delve that day, Flinx’s experience points had reached four percent. After his delve, he was extremely delighted to see that his experience bar had reached 8 percent. That meant that if he kept delving twice into the last floor of the Dungeon of Mara every day, he would reach level 8 on his wizard class in just three weeks.

Upon leaving the floor, he paid the guild a total of 8 low-level mana stones, 7 medium-level mana stones, and 4 high-level mana stones for the tax that he owed them. He also paid a total of 200 gold coins for the two items that he had received.

Flinx saw that the Adventurer Guild staff were in awe of how much he had earned from delving into the dungeon. They were aware, though, that he was delving into the last floor of the dungeon, and he did it twice that day, simply because he paid a total of 100 gold coins for the entrance fee.

He didn’t know if there would be repercussions for what he was doing. Flinx just hoped that no one would disturb him too much regarding his activities.

Thankfully, there were a bunch of eateries nearby that were still open even though it was already late. Some of them, according to the shop’s signs, were open 24 hours a day. He decided to stop on one of them to eat dinner. After eating, he entered an alley and used his Teleport spell to teleport directly beside the tree where Pondy was idling about.

Upon entering the tower, he saw that there was no one on the first floor. They were probably in their rooms resting already. Flinx was about to go upstairs to his room when he saw Christopher stepping out of his room to go downstairs.

“Flinx, you’re back! Everyone, Flinx is here!” Christopher shouted.

Flinx just sighed and returned to the first floor. Soon, everyone gathered in the living room.

“Why are you so late?” David asked.

“I ran the last floor of the Dungeon of Mara twice. I did say that my dungeon delving hours would be longer starting today. You don’t need to worry about not seeing me too much, I will rest during the weekends.”

The four children cheered when they heard that Flinx would still be able to join them during the day every weekend.

“Did you record your fight against the dungeon monsters?” Ambrose asked excitedly, and Flinx nodded.

Everyone clamored to see his fight, even Violet and Olivia. Since the tablet would be too small for everyone to watch his fight against the dungeon monsters, Flinx decided to purchase a mini projector that could be attached to an Android Device for 50 dollars. Once he had set up the projector, using one of the tower's walls as the screen, he commanded the tower to turn off the lights. Once everything was ready, he didn’t delay any longer and started the recording of his delve.

While everyone was wide-eyed watching his adventure on the 50th floor of the Dungeon of Mara, Flinx had to admit that the recording looked like one of those fantasy films that had extremely high-end graphics. The spells that flooded the screen were awe-inspiring, and even Flinx was impressed by the power that he exhibited during his fight.

Since the total hours of his delve recorded on the tablet were six, after a couple of hours, he told everyone they could continue watching the adventure tomorrow night.

The children complained a little, but Flinx was adamant that they start sleeping. The four of them had started nodding off while watching the fight.

Unlike the children, the most excited was Ambrose. Olivia’s brother looked electrified seeing Flinx’s fight against the powerful dungeon monsters of the last floor of the Dungeon of Mara. Olivia, looking at her brother’s expression, finally bowed to the inevitable that Ambrose's ambition was becoming an adventurer.

Flinx left all the gadgets on the dining table. He planned to teach some of them how to operate the tablet and the projector so they could watch the recording of his fight without him there. He also purchased a gas-powered, small, and silent generator together with enough fuel to fill up its tank to the brim. According to the manual, a fuel tank should last several hours, but since Flinx was just planning to use it to charge his Android Tablet and the small projector, the generator fuel should last longer than normal. He decided to buy the generator and its fuel for a total of 500 dollars since charging his two devices using the solar charger would take a long time.
