Elden Ring: Starting as Melina’s Sister
Ch. 41 Recalling the beastman's dry
Wilden said: “I seem to have forgotten the memories related to that…
but it seems that these beastmen are also tormented by undeath.
Even though they are not human.” Mia nodded, looking at the beastman armor at her feet.
Recalling the beastman’s dry, sparse fur, and the joints where the flesh had fallen away, revealing the bone.
Is this the reason for the hatred?
The Erdtree, once an ally, had cast a curse upon them.
That is why the Beastman hunts the people of the Erdtree.
“So…” Kalé’s voice came from beside me: “Did we take him down?” He raised his hand weakly.
As the one with the lowest combat ability among the three.
He had hidden to the side and watched the whole thing.
“Ah.” Mia snapped back to reality: “It seems so.” Looking around, the pack of wolves had disappeared at some point.
The wall of fire that had surrounded them also extinguished.
“It’s so dark!” The campfire from earlier had also been stomped out by the Beastman.
“Woo~” A Spirit Wolf let out a whine.
The white light emanating from their bodies illuminated Mia’s face.
These three wolves had played a major role just now.
“Good~ good~” Mia bent down and stroked the Spirit Wolf’s cheek.
The Spirit Wolf wore a human-like expression of enjoyment.
It was strange; even though they were spirit entities summoned from ashes, they had a realistic touch.
A fuzzy, furry sensation.
“Hey…
get away from me!
Ouch…” Looking toward the sound, Kalé had fallen backward onto the ground, and a Spirit Wolf was crouching in front of him, looking at Mia with a very innocent expression.
“Come here~” Mia beckoned to it.
The wolf wagged its tail, ran over fawningly, and tried to rub against her.
“Hey, hey—” Mia was pushed backward by it, then tripped over the armor left behind by the Beastman and fell to the ground.
The Spirit Wolf, taller than a person’s waist, would probably be able to rest both paws on Wilden’s shoulders if it stood up.
This wasn’t just a wolf; it was bigger than a tiger or a lion.
Mia estimated she could ride on its back.
However, this wolf seemed completely unaware of its own size!
It had knocked Mia over in an instant.
“Hmm?” She saw the wolf’s front paws, each as big as her own head, pinning her between them.
“Eh?” Slurp— A big lick.
?!!
Why does a spirit entity leave a trail of slobber?!
“Get up, get up!” Mia furiously wiped the wolf slobber off her face while shouting in exasperation.
“Woo—” The Spirit Wolf whimpered, feigning pity, and ran off Mia with its tail tucked.
Mia sat up with a look of disgust.
The guy who had just knocked her over was now starting to bother Wilden.
Compared to the slightly smaller-built Kalé and the even petite Mia, the wolf had finally found the right person to rub against.
Wilden lowered his head, curiously watching the Spirit Wolf circling around him.
The previous one also walked up, sat obediently in front of Mia, and stuck out its tongue in a fawning manner.
Mia scratched it again, taking the opportunity to wipe its companion’s slobber onto it.
There was one more Spirit Wolf.
Crouching far away on a rock.
Aloofly watching the intimate interaction between its kin and the humans.
Three wolves, each with their own personality.
Mia sighed.
The journey ahead was going to be much more interesting.
Just as she was about to stand up, she suddenly felt her hand press against something.
Looking down.
She saw a small leather pouch hidden inside the Beastman’s armor.
‘What’s that?’ With that curiosity, Mia picked it up and opened it.
Inside was a small talisman.
‘A talisman depicting a red Ancient Dragon.
Increases fire resistance.’ Ah!
This is it!
The gear that the ‘Beastman of Farum Azula’ boss in the Limgrave cave drops in the game!
Was this Beastman the one from the Limgrave cave?
And this Flame Drake Talisman.
Is that why my two Ignite spells didn’t deal any damage to the Beastman?
The Beastman was wearing this, which increased its fire resistance?
Well then.
As a reward for the boss fight, I’ll graciously accept it!
Mia happily tied the talisman pouch to her belt.
The three of them rekindled the campfire, and the three Spirit Wolves, some sitting and some lying down, gathered obediently around the firelight in the forest.
It might not seem tempting right now but who knows what the future holds?
“And If you’re enjoying it, drop a Power Stone for me!”
