Chapter 186: Benny Blackmail Angel

Angel had just finished fishing with her grandmother Paula and her crew. Everyone had already left the docks, leaving Angel all alone with the boat.

She stayed behind to clean everything up properly before heading back home. After spending some time washing the deck and putting all the gear back where it belonged, Angel finally finished cleaning the entire boat.

The afternoon sun was still shining over the harbor, reflecting brightly against the surface of the water. The smell of the sea lingered around the docks as Angel looked over the boat one final time.

Everything was finally back where it belonged. She wiped her hands, picked up her things, and prepared to leave.

She was completely ready to go home.

But just as Angel was about to leave the docks, Benny suddenly showed up out of nowhere.

For weeks now, Benny had been constantly disturbing Angel everywhere she went.

It did not matter if Angel was working at the ranch, visiting the harbor, shopping, or simply trying to enjoy some peace. Somehow, Benny always managed to appear and ask her for the same favor.

She wanted a big favor from the Alpha.

And every single time Benny asked her, Angel gave her the exact same answer.

"No."

"I haven’t even said what I wanted to say yet, and you are already saying no..." Benny complained.

Angel paused in her tracks, then turned around to face the Beta.

"I know exactly what you want to say. You were going to say I should escort your wife on her trip with that Alpha dude... Beta, noooo."

"Come on, it’s just for two short days. Just help me watch over her and take good care of her."

"First of all, I don’t like you... you have the exact same face as Anita, and I don’t like her at all. Second, I don’t mingle with Betas... go find someone else to spy on your wife because you secretly think she is cheating on you."

Benny stared at Angel for a moment. She was clearly not going to make this easy.

"Okay, it’s not my fault that I have to share my twin’s face, and I really don’t get why you don’t mingle with Betas. And I assure you that I am not sending you to my wife because I think she is cheating on me... Mary would never do that to me. I trust that with my entire life. I just don’t trust that guy... he is clearly after my woman..."

"If he is really after your woman, why don’t you just tell him to back off yourself?"

"I tried doing that already, but he is pretty intimidating with that gun he holds and that big mustache. Also, I don’t want Mary to think I am super insecure about her professional relationships with her business partners..."

Angel shook her head. The conversation was already becoming more ridiculous than she had expected.

They were already walking through the car park and stood right in front of Angel’s Jeep, where she kept all her swimming gear tossed in the back seat.

"You are insecure. There is nothing to be ashamed of that at all. Just tell her that directly, and she will understand if she still loves you... bye."

Angel hopped right into her Jeep. She had already decided that the conversation was over. Benny, however, clearly had no intention of giving up.

"Come on, please... as a friend and godmother to Lucy May..." Benny begged desperately.

Angel’s hand paused directly at the ignition switch. She looked at Benny.

"Ehhh? Who on earth told you that you are Lucy May’s godmother?"

"April. She said that three months ago, thanking me for giving her that online business idea..."

Angel’s expression changed immediately.

She clearly remembered April mentioning something about Benny helping with the business, but that did not mean she had agreed to make Benny her daughter’s godmother.

"Read my lips very carefully. You are never, ever going to be my daughter’s godmother. My best friend Abigail has already taken that slot. Bitch, get out of my way..."

"We can easily both be co-godmothers... please, just do this for me once, and after that, I will never ask you to do another favor for you ever again..."

Angel stared at Benny through the open window. She had already rejected the favor several times, yet Benny continued finding new reasons to convince her.

"Benita or whatever you are called, I have to go make dinner for my wife, so if you don’t stop bothering me right now, I’m afraid I will literally run you over..."

Angel started her Jeep engine and was about to drive away. That was when Benny finally decided to use something she had been saving as her last option.

"You leave me with no choice. I will tell April about your big secret..."

Angel looked at her through the window.

"Tell April what? I don’t have any secrets at all... I tell my wife everything, even the absolute dirtiest ones, my porn collection, my past chicken fights, and my drunk ass inside a bar... there is literally nothing left to hide... Adios..."

Angel reached for the gear. Benny watched her carefully.

"California 160. Have you told her about that one...?"

Hearing those specific words, Angel immediately turned off the engine.

Her entire expression changed.

"What are you talking about?"

"I know all about that. The things they made you people do in the military... my sister once bragged about it directly to our father. He was really proud of her. That was the exact day I realized what my father wants in a child, and that he favors her despite all the awful things she has done. You, Angel, have done awful things too, and I will be glad to tell your wife everything. I’m sure she will start looking at you in a very different way..."

For the first time since Benny had arrived, Angel had nothing smart to say. She simply stared ahead through the windshield.

Benny had finally found something that could make her stop.

Angel knew exactly what she was talking about, and that was enough to make the situation serious.

"You know, it wouldn’t be bad at all if Mary becomes a widow today. She will just mourn you for a couple of months and then get happily married to the Alpha dude, and they are going to make little Mafia babies together..."

Benny immediately looked nervous.

"Come on, Angel, please... I will take your secret straight to the grave if you just help me out. Just be there on the trip and make sure he doesn’t make a single move on my woman..."

Angel remained quiet for a moment.

She clearly hated the idea, but she also knew Benny was stubborn enough to actually reveal the secret if she refused again.

"Alright, keep your mouth shut, and I will help you... also, I don’t want to see you anywhere close to my wife. If I ever do, you will be swimming with the fishes deep in the sea..."

"Thank you so much. I appreciate it a lot..."

Angel did not wait around any longer. She drove away from the harbor, going straight to the local market as usual, now deeply thinking about how she was going to tell April that she would be gone for a two days.
