Falling For My Alpha Stepsister (GL)
Chapter 224: Called
Angel received a call from the school informing her that her daughter had gotten into a fight with another student. The moment she heard what had happened, the Alpha dropped everything she was doing and left Benny in charge of the boat before rushing to the school.
By the time Angel arrived, Lucy May’s homeroom teacher was already waiting for her. The woman immediately began explaining what her daughter had supposedly done to the other child, talking about the incident before Angel had even seen Lulu.
"Where is my daughter?"
Those were the first words Angel spoke. She wanted to see Lucy May before listening to anyone else’s account of what had happened. Whatever the situation was, she would hear her daughter’s side of the story first.
Lulu was sitting in the school hallway outside the principal’s office, directly across from the girl she had fought with. Nina’s head was swollen, and although she appeared to have calmed down, the signs of her earlier tears were still visible on her face.
Angel walked over and knelt in front of her daughter, bringing herself to the little Alpha’s eye level. She studied Lulu’s face for a moment before raising her hand to gently stroke her cheek.
"Tell me what happened, Lucy May. Did you really push her?" Angel asked calmly.
She was neither angry nor disappointed. She simply wanted to understand what had happened before deciding how to handle the situation.
"She broke my baby egg, and I told her to apologize, but she refused, so I pushed her and she fell on the floor. Her head hit the floor, then she started crying," Lulu explained.
Angel listened without interrupting. Once her daughter had finished, she turned towards the other little girl, who had been sitting quietly throughout their conversation.
"Is it true you broke her egg?"
"Yes, but I did not mean to..." Nina explained.
Angel took a deep breath, allowing herself a moment to consider what she had heard. Then she turned back to Lulu, gently holding her daughter’s face between her hands.
"Lucy May, it’s not good to push someone, it’s very bad. If someone does something bad, you should tell the teacher, okay? Now apologize..."
"Okay... are you angry at me?" Lulu asked, her eyes growing teary.
"No, I’m not angry at you..."
Relief flickered across the little Alpha’s face. Lulu stood up and walked over to Nina, glancing at her mother, who had risen to her feet beside her, before turning her attention back to the other girl.
"I’m sorry, Nina. I shouldn’t have pushed you..." Lulu said.
"Alright, you too, Nina. Do the same..."
"I’m sorry too, Lucy May. I should have been more careful with the baby egg... You can have my baby egg..."
"Now you can hug," Angel said.
Without further hesitation, the two little girls stepped closer and wrapped their arms around each other. Whatever anger had lingered between them seemed to disappear as they made peace, leaving their teacher smiling at the sight.
Angel watched them for a moment, pleased that the matter had been settled. However, when she turned towards the homeroom teacher, her expression became more serious.
"Maybe next time, talk to them before concluding that my child is a bully."
"I’m sorry about that, Mrs. Del Rosario. I should have asked them..."
With the misunderstanding cleared up and both children having apologized, they were allowed to return to their classroom. Angel stayed long enough to ensure everything had been settled before returning to work, leaving Benny to manage the boat while she continued with her responsibilities.
Later that afternoon, Angel returned to the school to pick up her daughter. She found Lulu waiting, but her attention soon shifted to Nina, who was still lingering around the school instead of leaving with the other children.
"Are her parents not here yet?" Angel asked.
"No, Nina’s Daddy is always busy, so she waits for the driver to come pick her up by five."
"Oh, you know that. How...?"
"Everybody knows about it. The teachers always complain and gossip about her and some other kids," Lulu said casually.
Angel glanced at Nina again. The little girl was still waiting, apparently accustomed to being left behind until her driver arrived. For a moment, the Alpha wondered how often she had been forced to sit there watching the other children leave with their parents.
"Should we buy her a Popsicle and keep her company until the driver comes to get her?" Angel suggested.
"I want to go to the ranch and play with Ocean. Ocean is waiting for me..."
"Come on, just a little while..."
"Okay, fine... I will spare my little time on that Omega."
Angel could not help finding her daughter’s response amusing. Lulu might have agreed to stay, but she certainly wanted everyone to know that she was making a sacrifice by doing so.
The Alpha mother and her daughter approached Nina and offered to keep her company until her driver arrived. They settled down at the café, where Angel bought Popsicles for the girls.
Lulu continued grumbling about the delay, but her complaints gradually faded once Angel handed her favourite flavour. Apparently, even her precious time at the ranch could be sacrificed for a Popsicle, provided it was the right one.
Angelo was with them as well, and before long, Sabrina arrived to pick up her son. After greeting Angel, she decided to stay for a while, allowing the two Alpha mothers to watch over the three children together.
The afternoon passed quietly as the children enjoyed their treats and company. Eventually, Nina’s driver arrived to take her home. Sabrina also gathered Angelo and left with her son, leaving Angel and Lulu to continue their journey.
With everyone else safely on their way home, Angel finally took her daughter back to the ranch, where Lulu could reunite with Ocean as she had wanted from the beginning.
Later that night, after the children had settled down, Angel told her wife everything that had happened at school, from the moment she received the call to when she decided to keep Nina company until her driver arrived.
April listened with a gentle smile, understanding that the incident had meant more to Angel than she might have realised. It was not simply about handling a fight between two children. It was an opportunity for Angel to become the kind of mother she had needed while growing up.
Whenever Angel got into trouble at school, nobody bothered to ask what had happened or give her a chance to explain herself. Instead, she was met with slaps and punishment, left to face the consequences without anyone trying to understand her side of the story.
But Angel had not treated Lucy May that way. She had knelt in front of her daughter, listened to her explanation, and calmly helped her understand what she had done wrong. Even after learning that Lulu had pushed another child, she had kept her anger in check and handled the situation with patience. She wanted her daughter to feel safe enough to tell her the truth, even when she made mistakes. Lulu needed to know that being corrected did not mean she was unloved, and that doing something wrong did not automatically make her a bad child.
April understood how much that mattered to her wife and could not have been prouder. Angel was learning to give her daughter the patience and understanding she had rarely received herself.
After that day, Angel began taking online parenting courses, determined to become a better mother. She wanted to understand her children’s emotions, learn how to discipline them without hurting them, and ensure they grew up knowing they could always turn to their parents.
April eventually joined her, and together, they began learning how to give Lucy May and Ocean the kind of childhood they deserved.
