Fated love: the unwanted bride
Chapter 2680: Don’t Look for Him Again
A layer of white fog enveloped the air, obscuring half of the view, and looking out from this hazy fog, there was only a vast expanse of white.
Jasmine Yale stood on the steps for a long time, with raindrops drifting onto her face.
The wind was also strong everywhere, blowing coolly against her body.
Jasmine Yale opened her umbrella and walked into the rain, her little leather shoes stepping into the water and splashing tiny white droplets.
She went to a nearby store to pick out some tasty treats for Little Clementine.
She had promised Little Clementine that as long as she took care of herself, she’d buy her anything she wanted.
Jasmine Yale chose carefully and patiently.
However, her attire was a bit odd, occasionally drawing curious glances.
After choosing the items, she left the store and returned to the hospital.
As several nurses had said, Mr. Smith was indeed very good at comforting children. He was a particularly amiable old gentleman, who could make children laugh heartily while treating them.
Little Clementine, who had been listless all morning, finally found some energy. Although still frail, her eyes were following the doctor’s movements.
Jasmine Yale finally breathed a sigh of relief.
"Madam, the little one has taken medicine, had an injection, had her temperature taken, and undergone an examination. It’s best to stay in the hospital for two days; I’ll be here those two days," Mr. Smith said.
"Thank you," Jasmine Yale expressed her gratitude.
"You’re welcome, it’s what I should do," Mr. Smith, dressed in a white coat, replied warmly.
He went to perform blood tests on Little Clementine, while Jasmine Yale and Butler Santana stayed with Little Clementine.
Jasmine Yale took out a toy pig from the handbag, teasing Little Clementine: "Sweetie, do you like it? Want it? If you do, reach out for it."
Little Clementine, with her big eyes fixed on the pig, smiled broadly, revealing her small white milk teeth.
Jasmine Yale loved seeing Little Clementine smile and joined in with her laughter.
Soon, a nurse brought in prepared baby food: "Madam, this is what Mr. Smith instructed us to make. It’s good for a feverish child. Will you feed her, or shall I?"
"I can do it," Jasmine Yale replied, taking the food.
She fed Little Clementine, who ate the baby food one bite at a time.
Little Clementine hadn’t eaten anything all morning, so she seemed hungry now, eating happily.
Jasmine Yale held Little Clementine on the hospital bed, gently soothing her.
After eating and having the injection, the little one gradually felt sleepy and nestled into Jasmine Yale’s arms to sleep.
Jasmine Yale rubbed her forehead.
"Miss Yale, leave it to me; you go to the resting room next door for a nap," Butler Santana suggested.
Jasmine Yale didn’t leave, glanced at Butler Santana, with an indescribable gleam in her eyes.
She said softly, "Butler Santana, I heard that this Mr. Smith is a very famous pediatrician."
"Indeed, a renowned expert throughout UT. Little Clementine is very lucky to meet Dr. Smith this time. She will definitely be fine soon," Butler Santana responded happily.
"Butler Santana," Jasmine Yale called softly, as if sighing, "don’t seek him out next time."
Butler Santana was initially stunned, then realized.
Miss Yale... already knew?
She thought she had been very discreet...
"I am capable of taking good care of Little Clementine. Even if we hadn’t come to Mr. Smith today, if we went to another doctor, Little Clementine would recover. Why seek him out?"
"Miss Yale... I’m sorry... I, I was just a bit anxious, and at the time I was too worried and thought of him first..."
