Chloe Sinclair finished packing her luggage and went to the laboratory building with Jasper Shaw.

Because the “Jiuzhang” project was still in its confidential phase, the two of them first went to meet with the senior project head and several of the research team leaders.

The “Jiuzhang” was currently just a prototype, and it was already facing many new problems.

With the research having stalled, the team leaders were all extremely anxious.

“Right now, only Meridia has the technology to accurately develop a photon detector. Even if we hire outside experts, we can’t afford to keep burning through money like this.”

Besides, there was no guarantee they could even hire any outside experts in the first place.

The team leader was so worried he felt like he was going to go bald.

The leader of the R&D team also complained, “Our funding has been cut to the absolute bone. It’s just too difficult for us to build the detector within a month on our own, not to mention all the other cash-burning stages that come after.”

A silence fell over the research lab.

Just then, Chloe Sinclair suddenly walked in, and everyone stared, taken aback for a moment.

The young woman was dressed in white, her hair tied up in a neat, clean bun.

“Everyone, who says our country can’t build a detector?”

Chloe Sinclair walked to the front, a faint smile on her face. “A hundred years ago, not a single person in the world believed we could build an airplane. Even our own people didn’t believe it. But a hundred years later, we did it ourselves.”

“Airplanes, cannons, rockets, atomic bombs… which of these wasn’t fraught with immense difficulty to build? But in the end, didn’t we still achieve great success?”

“Since we’ve come this far, we must have the will to win.”

Chloe Sinclair wore a faint smile, but everyone present was stunned.

Someone quickly recovered and asked, “Who are you?”

“Hello, everyone. I am the leader of the ‘Jiuzhang’ project, Chloe Sinclair.”

The dozens of top researchers in the room were instantly dumbfounded.

The initial concept for this project was conceived five years ago. Most of the people here hadn’t left this place in five years.

Therefore, they naturally didn’t know who Chloe Sinclair was.

Many of them stared wide-eyed, completely in disbelief. “How is that possible!”

Chloe Sinclair didn’t expect to win them over immediately, of course, so she showed them the letter of appointment approved by the higher-ups.

“This has to be a joke!”

Some of the older researchers immediately grew angry.

Chloe Sinclair gave a helpless smile.

Seeing the situation turning sour, Jasper Shaw moved to shield Chloe Sinclair behind him.

He couldn’t care less about their opinions. His face was cold as he stated in an icy tone, “If any of you have questions, you can report them or file a complaint with the higher-ups.”

After their initial burst of anger, many of the researchers present calmed down.

The document and the official seal were authentic, which meant the order had come from above.

Seeing that everyone had settled down, Chloe Sinclair handed out a document she had prepared in advance.

“This contains the internal structure and materials for the detector. I will send the rest to all of you after I get back.”

Chloe Sinclair’s expression changed. She glanced around the room and said seriously, “If there’s nothing else, we’ll have a meeting here tomorrow morning at seven o’clock sharp. I have matters to assign.”

With that, she left the research lab.

Only after Chloe Sinclair had left did the researchers pick up the lone document on the table.

After flipping through just a few pages, the expressions on their faces changed completely.

One of the slightly older men was visibly excited, his voice trembling as he spoke. “This is… this is actually real!”

They had been researching the detector for so long without even scratching the surface, yet a young woman who looked barely out of her teens had solved it!
