In the research lab, no one wanted to leave.

Everyone stared in a daze at the blueprints Chloe Sinclair had left behind.

After a long moment, someone finally snapped out of it.

“This is incredible! With these, building the detector will be no problem at all!”

The other research team leaders looked thrilled as well.

They looked toward Kane Shaw, who had been sitting silently in the head seat, unable to contain their excitement.

They even found themselves starting to look forward to tomorrow’s meeting.

“Mr. Shaw, is that kid really the Chief Director of Project Jiuzhang?”

Even though the proof was right in front of them, most of them still found it hard to believe.

Mr. Shaw nodded faintly, then laughed heartily. “Ah, Yates, I’m getting old. It’s time for me to step aside. You haven’t left this mountain in years, so it’s perfectly normal that you don’t know of Chloe. But I can tell you with certainty: she is a miracle for Celestria!”

Slade Yates was inwardly stunned.

He had rarely heard Mr. Shaw praise anyone so highly.

The last time, it seemed, was ten years ago, and it was about his own grandson.

And now, another young prodigy had appeared.

In fact, many of them were quite impressed that a kid not yet twenty years old was the Chief Director of Project Jiuzhang.

Most of the team leaders in the lab were getting on in years, much like Mr. Shaw.

They had won every award there was to win, and the passion of their youth had faded. Now, their only hope was to see their nation’s technology flourish with each passing day.

For a young kid to be Chief Director meant that the future of technology had found a new leader. They were overjoyed at the prospect, so jealousy was the furthest thing from their minds.

Slade Yates slapped the table. “If that girl’s got the real deal, then from now on, if she tells me to go east, I won’t go west! If she tells me to climb a mountain of daggers, I won’t jump into the sea instead! I, Slade Yates, am completely at her command!”

With that, he clutched the detector blueprints and asked Mr. Shaw, “Can I take these back to my lab to study them?”

Mr. Shaw nodded. “Since Chloe left them here, they’re for you all. The relevant team leaders should study them together.”

With that, Mr. Shaw stood up, his tone turning serious. “We only have one year. In this year, not only must we build the world’s first quantum satellite, but we must also ensure our quantum communications technology becomes the undisputed global leader!”

Then, neither Meridia nor the R-Federation will be able to challenge our nation’s power!

Everyone was stirred, nodding in firm agreement.

After leaving the lab, Chloe Sinclair went to the archives to review the institute’s project timelines.

‘As she expected, there were still many obstacles to overcome in just one year.’

Seeing the somber expression on Chloe Sinclair’s face, Jasper Shaw couldn’t resist ruffling her hair. “It’s alright,” he said softly. “I’m here with you.”

Chloe Sinclair’s mood brightened instantly.

After a soft “mhm,” she said, “I gave the detector schematics to Mr. Yates today. I estimate they’ll have it figured out within a few days. The only things we’re short on now are time and money.”

Besides, this wasn’t the right kind of facility for building a satellite.

Relocating the entire institute would be another massive expense.

And we only have one year. 365 days.

The pressing deadline made it impossible for Chloe Sinclair to relax.

After a quick dinner at the cafeteria, Chloe Sinclair and Jasper Shaw headed to the manufacturing department.

After spending the day surveying the institute, Chloe Sinclair went to Mr. Shaw’s office.

Mr. Shaw’s office wasn’t large—just a single room.

Inside, however, aside from a desk and a potted plant, there was nothing but towering stacks of reference materials.
