Chapter 461: Chapter 234: When 2 Ferocious Beasts Fight, 1 Must Die

The deeper the forest, the denser the foliage.

As Su Chen and his group ventured deeper into the forest, they encountered more and more wildlife. The small animals like rabbits and pheasants gradually gave way to larger ones like moose and red deer. On several occasions, Su Chen and the others were tempted to hunt them.

If they hadn’t been worried that the sound of gunfire would scare off the brown bear, they would have acted long ago.

After walking for nearly an hour, they finally spotted Ivan and two others on a small hill, lying prone and observing something in the distance.

Just as they got closer, before Su Chen could even ask what was going on, several roars echoed out.

ROAAR~~

GROWL~~

"A tiger? A bear?" Hearing the ferocious cries, everyone present tensed up. They immediately crouched low, their eyes scanning the surroundings warily.

Just then, Ivan came down from the small hill, a look of excitement on his face. "Boss, you’re finally here! You’ve arrived just in time for a spectacular show!"

Su Chen frowned slightly and quickly asked, "Weren’t we only expecting a brown bear? Where did a tiger come from? I don’t recall there being any tigers around Irkutsk."

"That’s right, there aren’t supposed to be. But from what I’ve observed, there’s a reason for it. I saw that the tiger has two cubs with her. I don’t know where she migrated from, but she stumbled right into the brown bear’s territory. Now the two behemoths are fighting!"

Su Chen didn’t ask any more questions. Keeping his body low, he crawled up the small hill alongside Ivan. Xiao Chen naturally followed, while the others remained behind on high alert.

Seeing how cautious Su Chen was, Ivan helpfully explained, "Don’t worry, Boss. We’re downwind from them. As long as we don’t make any loud noises, they won’t notice us!"

"Mm," Su Chen nodded lightly. He peeked over the top toward the source of the sound and finally got a clear view of the situation below.

A bear and a tiger were facing off, the tension thick enough to suggest a battle could erupt at any moment.

’A White Tiger? Could it be an albino Siberian tiger?’ Su Chen couldn’t help but gasp softly when he saw the white-furred, black-striped tiger below.

The native tigers in Russia were Siberian tigers, also known as Amur tigers. They were famous for their yellow fur and black stripes. Most of them lived in the Far East and Northeast regions, over a thousand kilometers from Irkutsk Oblast. Even if one were migrating, it was unlikely to have traveled this far.

However, Xiao Chen, lying next to him, identified the species at a glance. He muttered in confusion, "No, that’s not a Siberian tiger. Judging by its build, it should be a Bengal tiger. Aren’t those things mainly found in Southeast Asia? What’s it doing all the way out here?"

"Brother Chen, could you be mistaken?" A flicker of disbelief crossed Su Chen’s eyes. ’A Bengal tiger? Aren’t those the tigers that live in India?’

Xiao Chen shook his head with certainty. "I couldn’t be. We saw plenty of them in the jungles down south. A Bengal tiger’s build is slightly smaller than a Siberian tiger’s."

’This is interesting!’ India was an incredible distance from Irkutsk—a good four or five thousand kilometers away.

At that moment, the two beasts in the hollow below began to fight. Their roars echoed throughout the mountains, sending a chill down Su Chen’s spine. After all, these were powerful wild animals; their combat prowess needed no explanation. The scene of their deadly clash was nothing short of ferocious.

Soon, both were injured in different places, blood flowing from their wounds. The brown bear was fine; its thick fur hid any signs of blood. But the White Tiger was a different story. Its body was stained red with blood all over, making it look as though it had been seriously wounded.

Yelp~ yelp~ Two small cries rang out, as if cheering on the White Tiger. Hearing them, the fighting tiger’s movements grew even more ferocious.

The calls of the little white tigers naturally drew the attention of Su Chen and the others. When Su Chen saw the two adorable cubs, his eyes seemed to light up.

"Ivan, call a few of your best marksmen up here and get them ready. When the two have worn each other out, shoot the brown bear!"

Ivan froze for a second at the order, then asked foolishly, "Boss, we’re not shooting the White Tiger? The ranch has a master tanner with thirty years of experience. He could definitely skin the White Tiger perfectly."

"No need. I have a use for that White Tiger!" Su Chen had already made up his mind. Once the White Tiger was exhausted, he would go down and use his animal affinity ability to subdue it. And of course, he couldn’t leave the two little ones behind.

Hearing this, Ivan said no more. After all, the boss had given an order, and his job was simply to follow it.

A few moments later, four or five patrol members crawled up the hill. They each found a place to hide, and when they saw the two beasts locked in combat below, their hearts skipped a beat.

These patrol members were men who spent their years roaming the forests; there was little they hadn’t seen. Their emotions quickly calmed, and they raised their rifles, quietly waiting for the right moment.

The brown bear and the White Tiger fought for about ten minutes. In the end, the White Tiger was just one step behind. After taking a swipe from the bear, it collapsed to the ground. If not for the faint rise and fall of its belly, Su Chen and the others would have thought it was dead.

"Fire!" Su Chen called out softly and was the first to pull the trigger. Unfortunately, his shot only grazed the brown bear’s scalp, causing no real damage.
