Chapter 492: Chapter 244: How About Stacking Them into a Wall?
Chen Fei also let the two little ones out of their pet carrier. They bounced around the cabin, gleefully chasing and pouncing on one another.
The cabin door closed, and the plane slowly taxied off the apron. After a burst of acceleration, Su Chen felt a slight shudder from the fuselage.
A moment later, when Su Chen looked out the window again, the city of Irkutsk was already beneath him.
...
Imperial Capital Airport, Business Jet Apron!
The private jet, the Yunmengze, slowly came to a stop on the apron. Su Chen had just stepped out of the cabin but hadn’t yet started down the stairs when the phone in his hand began to ring. Seeing the caller ID, the corners of his mouth curled up slightly.
’Heh... this big brother of mine is really something else. It’s like he’s afraid I *won’t* come looking for him!’
The caller was none other than Chen Fan, the one who wanted Su Chen to go to Singapore and strike it rich.
His hand was just about to press the answer button, but Su Chen suddenly stopped.
’No, I can’t answer right away,’ he thought. ’I need to let him stew for a bit, or it’ll seem like I have nothing better to do.’ With that, he silenced the call and put the phone back in his pocket.
"Good afternoon, Sir!" Seeing Su Chen disembark from the plane, Butler Jiang Hui, who had been waiting for some time, immediately came forward to greet him.
But just as the words left his mouth, a large head poked out from the cabin doorway. Jiang Hui thought he was seeing things and rubbed his eyes, only to confirm that it was, in fact, a large tiger.
He was about to open his mouth to shout a warning, but he swallowed his words. He then remembered that this large White Tiger had just emerged from his own boss’s private jet—it had to be his boss’s pet.
Allowing a White Tiger to roam freely without a cage... if Jiang Hui still couldn’t grasp the situation, he wouldn’t be worthy of his title as a top-tier butler.
"Sir, it seems your trip was quite fruitful. You’ve even brought back a rather large pet!" Jiang Hui remarked, looking at the big White Tiger that had padded up to Su Chen’s side.
Su Chen patted the tiger’s head. "His name is Fatty. He’s very obedient. Go on, pet him. I’ll probably be keeping him at the courtyard residence from now on."
It would be a lie to say he wasn’t afraid; fear is a basic human instinct.
But after hearing Su Chen, Jiang Hui felt an irresistible urge to pet the tiger. Taking a deep breath, he reached out to stroke Fatty’s head.
Perhaps from being around Su Chen and Chen Fei so much, Fatty had grown a bit mischievous. Just as Jiang Hui’s hand was about to touch his head, the tiger pulled back and opened its massive jaws.
Jiang Hui’s hand went right inside Fatty’s mouth. Both Su Chen and Jiang Hui were dumbfounded by this scene. Jiang Hui especially—he could feel puffs of hot air on his hand.
Funnily enough, Fatty then stuck out his tongue and licked Jiang Hui’s hand. This frightened Jiang Hui so badly that his face went pale. He yanked his hand back and took a full step backward.
Su Chen gave Fatty an exasperated smack on the head. "That’s for being naughty! Your rations are halved today!"
When Jiang Hui came to his senses, he looked back at Fatty. After being smacked by Su Chen, the tiger seemed to deflate completely. He rested his head on his paws, utterly still, looking as if he’d suffered the world’s greatest injustice.
Seeing its pitiful expression, Jiang Hui felt a strange surge of affection for the creature.
"Hahaha! This big fella is certainly mischievous, but he’s quite clever too!" Jiang Hui said, voluntarily crouching down to stroke Fatty’s head.
"Let’s go. You can pet him all you want when we get back." Su Chen had noticed a few other business jets taxiing toward their apron. Who knew what kind of commotion it would cause if passengers saw a large White Tiger.
Jiang Hui had come in a Rolls-Royce Cullinan, which was large enough to accommodate Fatty’s massive body, though the tiger would have to be inconvenienced by curling up a bit.
On the way from the airport to the courtyard residence, Chen Fan called two more times, but Su Chen ignored both calls.
Apparently, Su Chen not answering had made Chen Fan anxious. He started sending texts, first asking if Su Chen was busy and then saying he had something urgent to discuss.
Finally, he repeatedly insisted he would call again at eight o’clock that evening and that Su Chen absolutely had to pick up.
As soon as he got back to the courtyard residence, Su Chen settled in Fatty and the two little ones. Then he went straight to his study, deftly booted up his computer, and plugged in his phone.
He planned to use the messages Chen Fan had sent to trace his "big brother’s" location and see if he was really in Singapore. Finding a specific address would be ideal.
The messages from Chen Fan had likely been sent through an international SMS platform or a GOIP network device. Both methods were common, but the latter was a favorite tool of criminals.
After all, a GOIP device could be controlled from overseas, using a domestic SIM card to spoof a local origin for any message it sent. This "person-card separation" model was extremely effective at concealing one’s identity and preventing tracking.
Su Chen hoped his so-called big brother had used a simple international SMS platform, which would be easy to trace. If he had used GOIP, however, there was little point in even trying; the chances of finding any useful information were slim to none.
After half an hour of work, Su Chen’s hands finally stilled. A strange glint flashed in his eyes. He took a cigarette from the case on his desk and lit it. Exhaling a cloud of smoke, Su Chen muttered to himself, "How very interesting."
