Global Lords: The Undead's Mobile Fortress

Chapter 487 - 225: It’s Made

Damenevsky strolled through the Undead Fortress like a tourist, showing not a hint of tension, his eyes instead filled with curiosity.

Li Ziyu walked beside him and asked casually, "Do you still want the corpses of those Void Beetles?"

Damenevsky, who was busy studying the architecture of the Undead Race, waved his hand dismissively. "What would I want that stuff for? No, no, I don’t want them."

’Great! If you don’t want them, then all these corpses are mine.’

Li Ziyu was secretly overjoyed. He silently issued a command through the Soul Network for the Undead to collect the corpses. The Undead, who had been loitering outside the Fortress and furtively eyeing the Void Beetle remains, were instantly invigorated and charged toward the shattered bodies.

There was no need to worry about corpse collection; the Undead were experts at it. They skillfully gathered the Void Beetle bodies one by one and transported them back to the Undead Fortress.

Li Ziyu didn’t take Damenevsky to the Great Tomb, instead bringing him directly to the main keep to show the gravity with which he viewed the occasion.

The two chatted continuously. Li Ziyu felt that Damenevsky was a decent guy. He was straightforward—a real straight shooter—and said whatever was on his mind, never hiding anything. If something could be said, he’d say it. If not, he would simply shut his mouth, not even bothering to make up an excuse. His actions basically told you, ’I don’t want to talk about it, so don’t ask.’

Li Ziyu finally had a grasp of Damenevsky’s origins. He came from a place in the Otherworld called the Northern Domain. According to Damenevsky’s description, the Northern Domain was a vast, sparsely populated, and exceptionally cold land.

It was precisely this harsh climate that forged the formidable Northern Realm People.

Warlike, skilled in combat, and immensely powerful—these were the typical traits of the Races living in the Northern Domain.

And Damenevsky’s own Hero Race was one of the most powerful Races in the Northern Domain.

The Northern Hero Clan were Human, but compared to normal Humans, they were more like supermen. They were a bona fide warrior Race. A peak member of the Northern Hero Clan, relying solely on their physical Power, could fight a Giant Dragon to the death and have it be an even match.

It wasn’t that Damenevsky’s people lacked extraordinary powers; they just often couldn’t be bothered to use them. They felt that relying on their own strength was the most dependable and straightforward way.

The Power they possessed was a type of Bloodline Power, not quite the same as the Ancestral Power of the Beastman. They had Faith only in themselves, constantly strengthening their Bloodline Power through daily tempering and training.

In Damenevsky’s own words, the "Frosty Winter Cold" had bestowed upon them the Power of "Fiery Anger."

A member of the Hero Race who had activated their Bloodline Power—forget about a peak Warrior, even an ordinary clansman—could battle a Giant Dragon.

The entire Hero Race was composed of powerful individuals.

Perhaps because their entire Race was composed of such powerful individuals, the Hero Race had its own problem: a small population.

Logically speaking, the Human Race was quite prolific. As long as they wanted to have children, their population could grow very quickly.

But it was a different story for the Northern Hero Clan. They had great difficulty having children. It wasn’t that their children died in infancy, but that they simply couldn’t conceive.

No matter how hard they tried, the number of children born remained extremely low.

This situation had always plagued the Hero Race, and as a result, they were few in number despite their great strength.

Despite their small population, the restless nature of the Northern Hero Clan kept them hurtling down the path of courting disaster.

They were filled with an insatiable curiosity and were extremely belligerent. As a result, they were often either in a fight or on their way to one.

As for whether this behavior was dangerous, they couldn’t care less.

They even came up with a fine-sounding excuse for their reckless behavior, calling it "tempering."

Yes, that’s exactly how Damenevsky ended up in the Void Land...

He had been standing under a waterfall, letting the frigid water crash down on him while simultaneously hammering his body with stones. In the midst of this, he inadvertently discovered a Void rift that had appeared.

What happened next was simple. The moment Damenevsky saw the Void rift, the idea of "tempering" himself immediately popped into his head, and he crossed through it, ending up here.

When Li Ziyu heard Damenevsky’s story, he rolled his eyes. ’There were so many things I wanted to roast him for.’

’Let’s not even talk about finding a waterfall to stand under in the freezing cold. But hammering your own body with stones? What the hell is that?’

’And you just dive into any old Void rift that appears?’

’Just how ridiculously confident do you have to be to do something like that?’ Li Ziyu couldn’t even begin to imagine.

Li Ziyu had originally just wanted to have a chat with Damenevsky and build some goodwill, so that if they ran into each other again in the Void Land, there wouldn’t be any conflict.

What he hadn’t expected was that this guy Damenevsky would make himself right at home and just move in...

’I was just being polite, why’d you have to take it seriously?’

Gazing at Damenevsky, who had already picked out a room and had the look of a true Barbarian Race member, Li Ziyu was at a loss for words.

In reality, Li Ziyu had shot himself in the foot. Damenevsky, being a member of the Hero Race, possessed an intense curiosity. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have so readily agreed to come up to the Undead Fortress.

He simply wanted to see for himself what the Undead were really like in their day-to-day existence.

For the Hero Race, the Undead were also a legendary Race.

Although the history of the Hero Race included battles against the Undead.

But that was a very long time ago.

Damenevsky had long been curious about all the strange and wonderful Races mentioned in his people’s history.
