Bebuta: !!!

Li Ziyu looked at him calmly.

“If you don’t sign the contract, I’ll send you on your way. Then I’ll turn you into an Undead and make you one of their companions.”

As he spoke, Li Ziyu kindly pointed to the dopey-looking Skeleton Undead beside them.

Bebuta glanced at those scrub-tier Skeleton Undead, his chest heaving violently. He felt like his lungs were about to explode with rage.

‘Are you a fucking Demon?!’

‘I’m a Void Lord, for crying out loud!’

‘A powerful being!’

‘Even as an Undead, I would be a powerful one, yet you want to turn me into one of those weaklings?’

“You are not a great Warrior. You have no right to dispose of me, nor can you kill me.”

Bebuta said to Li Ziyu with disdain.

From the aura Li Ziyu exuded, he could already tell that this Human before him wasn’t a Warrior at all—just a complete weakling.

Never mind his peak condition; even now, he could crush this guy with a flick of his wrist!

Hearing this, Li Ziyu gave a very gentle smile.

“It’s fine. We can take our time. We have all the time in the world. I’ll be able to send you off eventually. So, are you going to sign the contract or not?”

That smile definitely didn’t belong to a good person!

Bebuta shuddered and fell silent.

“I’m a Human with no combat ability, and my subordinates are all Undead. Keeping a Void Lord like you around is, frankly, dangerous.”

Li Ziyu explained.

Previously, everyone by his side was bound to him by a contract. Damenevsky was the sole exception.

But Li Ziyu had a decent grasp of Damenevsky’s temperament. Bebuta’s, on the other hand, was anyone’s guess.

After all, he wasn’t Human.

Li Ziyu looked at Bebuta, who had turned his head away and refused to look at him, and proceeded to conjure a Soul Contract on his own.

He gave it a push.

The contract drifted over to float before Bebuta’s eyes.

Bebuta didn’t want to see it and turned his head to the other side, but the contract leisurely floated over to the new position, still right in front of him.

He finally glared at Li Ziyu, his eyes filled with fury.

Li Ziyu crooked a finger, and the contract drifted up again to hover before Bebuta’s eyes.

‘I… ‘

Bebuta was furious but helpless.

He desperately wanted to declare that a great Warrior would not be humiliated, and then self-destruct.

But the surrounding Skeleton Undead told him that even Self-Destruction would likely be useless.

‘Why are all the Humans I’ve met lately so inhuman?’

Bebuta’s Insect Teeth opened and closed, making a CLICK-CLACK sound. He let out a long sigh and chose to sign the Soul Contract.

The Soul Contract was signed.

Li Ziyu was pleasantly surprised.

‘Oh? I thought this stubborn brute would struggle for a while longer.’

This was a Grand General.

Li Ziyu had just witnessed Bebuta’s combat prowess; he was certainly no ordinary Warrior.

Li Ziyu was naturally overjoyed to have recruited a Warrior with such powerful single-target combat abilities.

“Focus on recovering and get better soon. If there’s anything you want to eat, just tell them.”

Li Ziyu said to Bebuta, pointing a finger at the nearby Skeleton Undead.

Now that the contract was signed, Bebuta resigned himself to his fate. He stopped struggling and lay on the bed, utterly despondent. He stared blankly at the ceiling, and it was unclear if he’d even heard Li Ziyu’s words.

Li Ziyu didn’t mind. After giving his instructions, he ambled off leisurely to find Damenevsky.

When he found Damenevsky, the man was in the middle of eating. A table several meters long was completely covered, plate after plate piled high with food.

The previous battle had consumed a great deal of his strength, so even Damenevsky needed to replenish his Energy.

And the best way to replenish Energy was to eat—devouring large amounts of meat allowed him to recover quickly.

He tore through the meal like a tornado.

Right before Li Ziyu’s eyes, the piles of food rapidly vanished into Damenevsky’s stomach.

His stomach was like a bottomless pit; Li Ziyu had no idea how he managed to eat a whole table’s worth of food.

“Did he sign?”

Damenevsky, his mouth stuffed with food, glanced up at Li Ziyu and asked casually before continuing to shovel down meat.

“He signed. Very reluctantly.”

“Good enough.”

Damenevsky and Bebuta had a mutual respect for each other. He hadn’t saved Bebuta for any other reason than feeling that such a powerful Warrior shouldn’t just die like that, so he gave Bebuta a chance to live.

If Bebuta didn’t want to take that chance, then he wouldn’t have interfered.

He wouldn’t even have tried to persuade Li Ziyu.

There was no need.

The current outcome was for the best.

When Li Ziyu went to see Bebuta the next day, the guy’s body had actually started to grow back, and was now whole.

However, he looked different from before; the newly grown half of his body was soft.

Much like an insect after molting.

Li Ziyu poked it curiously and, as expected, received a furious glare from Bebuta.

“Are all you Void Creatures like this? You can survive after losing half your body?”

Li Ziyu pulled up a chair to Bebuta’s side, watching him with a face full of curiosity.

He was now completely fascinated by Void Creatures.

‘Are they really just like insects?’

“…No.”

“The stronger we are, the stronger our Life Force, and our regenerative abilities are greatly enhanced.”

Bebuta said calmly, staring up at the ceiling.

‘That makes sense.’

Li Ziyu nodded. If all Void Creatures had Bebuta’s regenerative abilities, that would be terrifying. They’d be impossible to defeat.

As long as they weren’t killed, they could just go rest for a couple of days and come back good as new.
