Global Lords: The Undead's Mobile Fortress
Chapter 504: Lord Simo
“What the hell? Why didn’t you tell me there was a Void Lord here?” Li Ziyu said, rolling his eyes.
He was only worried about starting a conflict and having his Fortress besieged by Void Creatures. A single Void Lord wasn’t something he was too concerned about.
Besides, Damenevsky was still in the Fortress, and he’d been quite bored lately.
If a Void Lord came looking to die, Li Ziyu believed Damenevsky would be thrilled.
“You didn’t ask,” Bebuta said, his expression placid.
“How strong is the Void Lord here? Stronger than you?” Li Ziyu asked curiously.
“I’m stronger,” Bebuta said without hesitation.
‘Oh, that’s a relief.’
‘If he’s weaker than Bebuta, then Damenevsky should have a relatively easy time dealing with him.’
After they waited for a moment, a Wormhole opened in the Void, and a Void Lord in the form of one of the Insect People stepped out.
This Void Lord looked very different from Bebuta. He had four legs but only two arms, and his carapace wasn’t nearly as impressive as Bebuta’s.
“Is that him?” Li Ziyu glanced at the Void Lord emerging from the Wormhole and nudged his chin toward Bebuta.
“Yeah, that’s him. He’s the Void Lord of this region. I’ll do the talking,” Bebuta said, his tone still placid.
Li Ziyu made a ‘go on’ gesture and naturally stepped back.
Bebuta took a step forward, spread his wings, and flew toward the newly arrived Void Lord.
“I was wondering who it was. So, it’s you, Bebuta, you battle maniac. Instead of looking for a fight somewhere, what are you doing in my territory? And with a bunch of… hmm? Skeletons?”
The Insect People Void Lord asked with a hint of mockery in his voice, his gaze sweeping over the Undead Fortress with a flash of contempt.
In his eyes, Bebuta was simply brainless. Or, perhaps, brain-damaged.
There really weren’t many Void Lords as belligerent as him.
Void Creatures had a different way of life from normal beings and desired different things. Most of the time, Lord Level entities preferred to enjoy life rather than fight.
Even the ones with great combat strength, most Void Lords disliked fighting.
If a fight was unavoidable, a Void Lord preferred to command their subordinate Void Creatures to do it for them. After all, they had plenty of minions.
Bebuta was a true anomaly. He was already a Void Lord, yet he showed no interest in luxury, preferring combat instead.
Many of the other Void Lords looked down on Bebuta, believing he was unworthy of the title. They felt he should have remained a Low Level Void Creature, as that would better suit his temperament.
“Simo, we need to pass through here,” Bebuta said, flying before the insectoid Lord. He wasted no words, getting straight to the point.
“Just because you say you need to pass, we should let you? Look at the mess you’ve made of the forest!” the insectoid Lord Simo retorted, displeased.
“We need to pass through here,” Bebuta repeated, his tone hardening.
Simo stared at Bebuta, his mandibles clicking together a few times.
‘He desperately wanted to refuse Bebuta, just to flex his authority.’
‘But the thought of Bebuta’s belligerent nature made him feel helpless.’
With other Void Lords, you could trade insults, posture a bit, and that would be the end of it. But with Bebuta, things would escalate into a real fight.
‘The main problem was, he couldn’t even beat Bebuta.’
In truth, relations between Void Lords were usually quite amicable. They rarely got into heated arguments; there was simply no need.
They were all of the same race, so there was no need to create such tension.
The only reason Simo was blocking Bebuta’s path was because he had suffered at Bebuta’s hands before.
That’s right. Bebuta had beaten Simo up.
Simo had a foul personality and was always trying to act tough and show off.
The other Lords would just laugh it off and let it slide.
But when he tried it with Bebuta… well, Bebuta took it seriously. He concluded that Simo was looking down on him, and if that was the case, what was there to talk about? It was time for a fight.
The result was Simo getting pinned to the ground and beaten senseless by Bebuta. He’d almost had the shit knocked out of him.
That was why Simo was now blocking the Undead Fortress, intending to give Bebuta a hard time.
