Chapter 505: Arriving at the Ore Vein

Simo’s silence prompted Bebuta to reach into the Void and draw out his lance…

‘If you won’t move, we’ll just have to fight.’

‘That’s what this means, right?’

Seeing that familiar weapon, Simo instinctively took a step back.

He’d been struck by that lance before. It had been brutal—his entire upper body was sent flying.

He only survived because of the powerful Life Force of a Void Lord. Otherwise, he would have been a goner.

Seeing Bebuta draw his lance, Simo was bewildered.

‘Is… is this really necessary?’

Bebuta raised his lance, pointed it at Simo, and said, “Fight me.”

To Bebuta, there was no problem that couldn’t be solved with a fight. And if one fight wasn’t enough, he’d just start another.

Either you deal with me, or I deal with you. Either way, the problem is solved.

But while that was Bebuta’s way of thinking, it certainly wasn’t Simo’s.

“Bebuta, don’t take things too far,” Simo said, his voice sharp and severe.

Bebuta had no patience for words. He brandished his lance and prepared to charge, but Simo scrambled back, half his body already vanishing into the Void.

Seeing what a coward he was, Bebuta stopped in his tracks.

Bebuta: ???

‘Weren’t you the one trying to stop me?’

‘Did I take things too far?’

‘What did I even do?’

“Clear the path!”

His demand was the same as before. Simo, with half his body retracted into the Void, looked past Bebuta.

“Bebuta, you can pass, but those Skeletons behind you are not Void Creatures!”

“You can’t stop me.”

The words were blunt, and naturally, Simo was furious.

“Bebuta, you have forsaken our honor!”

As Void Lords possessing High Level intelligence, they placed great importance on honor. Void Lords had always considered themselves superior to other beings.

Seeing Bebuta escorting a group of Skeletons who intended to pass through his territory, Simo was naturally displeased.

But what did Simo’s displeasure have to do with Bebuta?

Having signed the Soul Contract, and with his personality being what it was, Bebuta was bound to be loyal to Li Ziyu.

All he had to do was carry out his duties without any fuss.

Since Li Ziyu wanted the Undead Fortress to pass through the forest, Bebuta would adopt the Undead Race’s perspective and ensure the Undead Fortress passed through the forest.

Atop the main tower, Li Ziyu watched the two Void Lords. Damenevsky walked up to his side, munching on a piece of fruit he held in his hand.

“What’s going on?”

“Bebuta says this forest is that fellow’s territory. If we want to get through, we need him to grant us passage.”

“And he won’t?”

Hearing this, Li Ziyu turned to look at Damenevsky. Just as he expected, the man’s eyes were slowly lighting up, an excited expression spreading across his face.

Damenevsky and Bebuta were the same type: both were extremely belligerent and thoroughly enjoyed the process of combat.

His previous battle with Bebuta had left Damenevsky deeply satisfied.

At least Bebuta had forced him to break his usual restraint and unleash some of his true strength, rather than winning with sheer physical prowess alone.

In Damenevsky’s eyes, all Void Lords were decent opponents.

He devoured the fruit in a few quick bites, juice splashing everywhere, until only the core remained. Damenevsky tossed it aside casually.

“Let me go,” Damenevsky said, his eyes fixed on Simo as his fighting spirit began to surge.

“I don’t think that’s necessary. Bebuta should be able to handle this just fine,” Li Ziyu said with a sigh.

‘If I let you go, a fight is guaranteed to break out.’

‘Even if he doesn’t want to fight, you’ll force him to.’

‘With Damenevsky’s fighting style, the collateral damage might even hit my Undead Fortress.’

‘Yeah, better not.’

‘It’s really not necessary.’

‘Besides,’ Li Ziyu thought, ‘the other guy is clearly terrified of Bebuta. Can’t you see he doesn’t even dare to face him directly?’

“Simo, we are just passing through,” Bebuta said earnestly.

“…”

Simo fell silent. He really didn’t want to clash with a lunatic like Bebuta.

But he also really didn’t want to let this mob of Skeletons pass through his territory.

It was a dilemma.

Just as he was wrestling with his decision, a tyrannical aura erupted from the Fortress, causing Simo’s expression to change dramatically.

From the aura alone, he could tell it belonged to a powerhouse at least as strong as Bebuta!

‘There’s another powerhouse in that Fortress?!’

He looked toward Bebuta.

Bebuta nodded at him.

Simo stopped struggling. It was pointless.

He already had little chance of stopping Bebuta alone, let alone with another powerhouse of the same caliber backing him up.

He gave Bebuta one last, deep look before retracting into the Wormhole and disappearing from sight.

The encounter with Simo was just a minor interlude.

After Simo retreated, Bebuta returned to the Fortress and told Li Ziyu they could proceed.

The Undead Fortress rumbled to life once more, continuing on its path.

With Simo having granted them passage, everything went smoothly. The Undead Fortress just had to plow straight ahead.

Only Damenevsky was greatly dissatisfied.

He had wanted to “spar” with Simo, but Simo hadn’t given him the chance. He lamented having missed the opportunity to cross blows with another powerhouse.

As Li Ziyu had the Undead Fortress pass through the forest, Simo was spreading the news of its arrival.

The surrounding Void Lords all learned that Bebuta was leading a group of Skeletons into the territory of the Void Lords.

Some Void Lords didn’t think much of it. So what if it was a group of Skeletons? So what if they were just passing through the forest? It was no big deal.

Some Lords were initially furious, but their anger vanished the moment they heard the name of the battle maniac, Bebuta.

‘Oh, Bebuta’s leading them? Never mind, then.’

But others were different. They were traditionalists.

The Void Land was the domain of the Void Lords. If some trash appeared on the plains, they would think about how to get rid of it. And now, Bebuta actually dared to lead that trash deep into the forest.
