Global PvP Tower: I Can Infinitely Merge My Units
Chapter 101: Dark Fall Conquest (7), Arrow Intent
As she aimed and adjusted her pull, the wave emerged.
The first Wraithguard’s honor guard poured out, and eight more fell into the same tight line, eleven total standing in a single unbroken row between the treeline and her tower.
’Pierce through them.’ Alice’s controlled the MP as an image played out in her mind.
Right then, something in Alice’s chest went very still.
The world seemed to slow around her. Not literally, but in the way a held breath makes a single second stretch out longer than it should. The bow, a weapon she had trained in for a decade, seemed like it truly became a part of her in this moment.
Every sound at the edge of her hearing faded into something distant and unimportant.
She felt it then, a strange, foreign pressure settling into her mind and her will both. The space around her had started leaning toward whatever she wanted it to do, instead of resisting on its own terms.
’This.’ The thought arrived clear and certain, cutting through everything else. ’This is what he felt.’
She loosed the arrow.
It left her bow spinning faster than anything she’d managed before, a corkscrew of pure momentum trailing faint silver light behind it, and it didn’t slow down when it hit the first Wraithguard’s chest at all.
It kept going. Through the first. Through the second. It didn’t stop at the third, the fourth, or any of the eight after that.
Each one dropped in the exact instant the arrow passed through, momentum barely diminishing across the entire line.
The eleventh one caught it differently. The arrow buried itself deep, hesitated for half a heartbeat, and detonated in a burst of silver light that took the last Wraithguard apart from the inside out.
Alice stood there, bow still raised, breathing hard. She stared at eleven bodies collapsing across the open ground in front of her tower.
```
```
[ Insight gained. ]
[ Arrow Intent (Special-rank Talent): 14%. ]
```
"What." Her voice came out barely above a whisper. "What just happened?"
A second panel replaced the first before she’d finished processing it.
```
[ Arrow Intent (Special-rank Talent) ]
Governs the applications and inherent power of arrows in flight. Known applications include Puncture, Homing, and Velocity, among others yet to be understood.
> Puncture (Understood): Arrows penetrate targets with greater ease. Against a target significantly weaker than the arrow’s force, penetration costs almost no momentum at all.
```
Alice read it twice, hands trembling faintly around her bow.
’A talent. A real one. Not bought, not chosen from a list.’ She let out a breath she hadn’t realized she’d been holding since the arrow left her string. ’Awakened.’
She tested the understanding immediately, turning her aim away from her empty ground toward the herds still grinding through the lanes on either side of her.
An arrow crossed the gap to Rourke and Thessa’s tower and punched clean through three Marauders in a single line before it lost enough momentum to stop.
’Puncture doesn’t care about distance or losing power if the target’s weak enough for it.’ She grinned, already drawing the next one. ’Guess I’m not staying in my own lane anymore.’
She worked three more towers over the next several minutes, picking off whatever herds she could reach without ever leaving her platform, Starlit Vigil’s ten-kilometer range finally worth its full weight now that her arrows could actually punish anything it found no matter what came in the way!
```
[ Cross-lane eliminations: 3 towers assisted. +8,750 points. ]
```
The leaderboard flashed a moment later, and she almost laughed out loud at the number sitting next to her name.
```
[ Individual Elimination Leaderboard, Wave 39 ]
>1. Leon Flanke: 61,200
>2. Ruby Starviel: 38,350
>3. Sylvana Emberleaf: 34,400
>4. Corvin Emberleaf: 34,050
>5. Lyria Windshard: 33,800
>6. Kruk Bloodfang: 33,200
```
Second place. The eleven-kill arrow and the three lanes she’d reached into after it had done more for her standing than the last eight waves combined.
’One more thing to understand.’ Alice flexed her draw hand once, watching a faint silver shimmer curl off her fingertips that hadn’t been there an hour ago. ’Then another. Then another.’
She thought of Logan’s seventeen becoming twenty-eight, and grinned despite everything her body still ached from.
’Fourteen percent is just the start.’
---
```
[ Wave 40: Incoming. Mythic-rank bosses, one per tower. ]
```
The forest itself went dark and quiet in the seconds before the fortieth wave, every tower’s treeline holding its breath in unison.
At Alice’s tower, something massive tore free of the dark. A hulking, four-armed shape wreathed in shadow so thick it seemed to swallow the moonlight around it.
```
[ Duskmaw Behemoth ]

```
Alice didn’t wait for it to finish emerging. She drew, spun MP into the arrow’s flight, and let Arrow Intent do the rest.
The shot punched clean through the shadow wreathing its chest, Puncture’s understanding barely losing a fraction of its force against defenses that would have stopped anything she’d owned a day earlier.
The Behemoth roared, four arms swinging wide. Alice was already gone, Comet Step carrying her clear before the first arm finished its arc.
She didn’t call for Logan. She didn’t think about calling for Logan at all.
Three more shots later, the Behemoth staggered, shadow bleeding out of it in thick ropes. Her fourth shot went straight through whatever core was left holding the whole thing together.
```
[ You have eliminated Duskmaw Behemoth. +4,500 points. ]
```
Alice lowered her bow, chest heaving, and let herself grin at an empty stretch of scorched ground where a Mythic-rank boss had been standing a minute earlier.
’Didn’t need saving. Not once.’
---
Three towers away, Logan felt the wave’s weight differently, Grim Lock chaining him from struggling tower to struggling tower faster than he could fully process each fight before the next one demanded him.
He arrived at one just in time to see the worst of it happen somewhere he couldn’t reach in time.
```
[ Cinderfall Tyrant ]
Mythic | Level 40
```
Two players broke and ran the instant it cleared the treeline, and it caught both of them before either made it ten steps, twin claws opening through armor that should have held far longer than it did.
Logan’s stomach dropped, Reaper’s Stride already carrying him toward the sound, arriving three seconds too late to matter.
```
[ 2x Player Eliminated. ]
```
The Tyrant’s whole body convulsed the instant the second player’s signature vanished, absorbing something invisible into itself, growing taller and darker across the space of a single breath.
```

```
Logan stared at the numbers for one full second, disbelief cold in his chest.
’That’s not a wave boss anymore. That’s something that could level a tower on its own.’
He raised his blade anyway, already calculating the fastest opening he could find, when something moved past him fast enough to blur.
Borga Ironvein hit the ground directly in front of the Ascended Tyrant, both fists already glowing with a dull, angry red light that pulsed in time with something Logan couldn’t identify.
```
[ Borga Ironvein ]
[ Class: Deepforge War Titan (Mythic) ]
[ Talent: Ironvein’s Reckoning (Mythic) ]
```
"Ten waves." Borga’s voice came out low and rough, every word carrying weight that hadn’t been there back at the gathering point. "Ten waves of taking every hit this whole field’s thrown at me, increasing my stacks to a level I can’t handle anymore."
The red light along both his fists brightened further, veins of it spreading up his forearms in branching patterns.
He planted both feet, knuckles cracking audibly even over the Tyrant’s roar. "Guess it’s time to cash it in."
The Tyrant swung one massive claw down toward him, easily strong enough to end the fight in a single strike against anything that hadn’t spent ten waves preparing for exactly this moment.
Borga didn’t dodge. He stepped into it instead, one fist rising to meet the claw head-on.
The impact didn’t make a sound so much as a silence, a full second of nothing where the air itself seemed to forget how to carry noise at all.
Then the Cinderfall Tyrant, Ascended, simply stopped existing. The entire upper half of its body was erased in a single motion, leaving nothing behind but scorched ground and a crater deep enough to swallow a house.
```
[ You have eliminated Cinderfall Tyrant, Ascended. +12,000 points. ]
```
Logan stood there, blade still raised, staring at a dwarf who had never once said a kind word to him, standing calm in the middle of a crater that shouldn’t have been survivable to create.
Borga didn’t look at him. He just flexed the hand that had thrown the punch, testing the feeling in fingers that looked like they should have shattered from the force alone.
"Don’t get used to it." He finally glanced over, something almost like acknowledgment flickering behind the usual hostility. "That was everything I had banked. Won’t have that again for a while."
"Wasn’t planning on relying on it." Logan lowered his blade slowly. "That was still impressive."
Borga grunted something that might have been agreement and turned away without another word.
---
The relief lasted less than a minute.
Two more signatures blinked out near the far edge of the field, close enough together that both bosses responsible convulsed at nearly the same instant.
```
[ 2x Player Eliminated. ]
```
Then two more, further out this time, a different pair of towers losing their last defenders within seconds of each other.
Logan felt the weight of both notifications settle into his chest at once, cold and heavy in a way none of the last thirty-nine waves had managed.
’Two more of those things, out there right now.’ He looked toward the horizon, where something vast had started moving in each direction at once. ’And ten waves left to survive them.’
