Vale knew this was terminal lucidity, a final burst of dying energy, after swinging this sword, he would likely die very soon.

But Vale didn’t care, he was determined to kill the beast in front of him.

"Die for me!" Vale roared.

He slashed out violently with his sword, a scorching sword qi tore through the night sky like a falling meteor, aimed straight for the demonic beast’s heart.

The beast seemed to sense the terrifying might behind this strike, it roared and tried to evade, but it was too late.

The sword qi pierced through the Giant Steel Bear’s head, pinning its massive body to the ground.

The beast let out a shrill, mournful roar before falling silent, it lay dead on the earth, completely motionless.

Panting heavily, Vale leaned against the Giant Steel Bear, his eyelids felt incredibly heavy, his heartbeat terribly weak.

Clutching the wound on his abdomen, he sat on the ground and looked up at the starry sky, despite being utterly exhausted, the bright light of victory flickered in his eyes.

"I did my best!"

He muttered the words, then heavily closed his eyes.

At that exact moment, the seal within his body was undone, spiritual energy surged like a torrential flood, sweeping through his body and beginning to heal his wounds.

Within Vale’s body, Aria opened her mouth wide, as if she had forgotten how to breathe, her eyes trembled violently, what had she just witnessed?

He actually won, this guy defeated the demonic beast with a heavily injured body.

Simply too unbelievable.

She looked at the unconscious Vale, this guy had completely overturned her understanding, if it had been her suffering such injuries, her first thought would have been to retreat.

As long as the green hills remain, one need not worry about firewood, wait until the injuries heal, then fight again.

But this guy completely ignored his injuries, only knowing how to charge forward.

"Idiot, madman!"

Aria felt only these two words could describe Vale.

Adam also took a deep breath, although he could understand it, witnessing this suicidal way of fighting firsthand was still shocking.

But now was not the time for shock, Aria’s spiritual journey was about to end, yet it hadn’t triggered the opportunity for ascension.

This meant she fundamentally hadn’t understood Vale’s actions, if this continued, she would fail.

"Sigh, who asked me to be able to help you!" Adam smiled faintly, from Vale’s memories, he extracted a segment of the past and merged it into Aria’s starlight.

The scene changed abruptly.

Azure Stone Village, a small border village near the Demonic Beast Forest.

Vale and his family lived a peaceful life, his father was captain of the village’s hunting team, his mother was a hardworking peasant woman, his younger sister was the softest attachment in his heart.

This peace was shattered one early morning.

That day, a massive tide of demonic beasts attacked without warning, the beasts surged toward the village like a tidal wave, the villagers panicked, grabbing weapons and preparing for a life-and-death struggle.

Vale tightly gripped the sword his father had given him, standing at the door, his heart was filled with terror.

The beasts grew in number, his father’s battle increasingly difficult, his blade was knocked away, he turned and yelled. "Vale, hurry, bring me the sword!"

But amidst the roaring of beasts and his father’s shouts, Vale hesitated, he was afraid.

Afraid of those sharp fangs and piercing claws, afraid he could not withstand the attacks.

In that split second of hesitation, a beast lunged at his father. Vale watched helplessly as his father was tackled to the ground, the sword was never handed over.

He heard his father’s tragic screams and saw the terror in his mother’s and sister’s eyes, it felt as if a knife was twisting in his heart.

After the beasts retreated, the village lay in ruins, Vale stood beside his father’s corpse, filled with remorse and agony, his mother and sister did not blame him, but their eyes revealed deep disappointment.

He tried to make excuses, claiming he had done his best, but his voice sounded pale and powerless.

Late at night, Vale sat alone on the rock his father used to sit on, staring at the sword in his hand, he knew he hadn’t done his best, he was simply afraid.

He thought of his father’s teachings, his mother’s expectations, and his sister’s innocent smile.

An unprecedented determination welled up in his heart.

To change himself, to become a true warrior, Vale began grueling training.

Every morning, facing the first ray of sunlight, he would run and practice swordsmanship, he didn’t fear exhaustion, hardship, or injury, whenever he wanted to give up, he would think of his father’s sacrifice and his family’s eyes, and pull himself together.

Months of training passed, his swordplay grew sharper, his physique more agile, whenever he swung his blade, it was as if the wind howled and the stones trembled, but he knew this was far from enough, he had to become stronger to protect his loved ones.

However, just as Vale was about to complete his training cycle, the beast tide attacked once again.

Villagers cried out in panic, but this time Vale was not in the village, he was in a distant valley, focused on training, completely unaware his home faced apocalyptic disaster.

Inside the house, his mother hugged his sister tightly, they knew Vale was training and hoped he would return in time, yet they also knew he might not fend off so many beasts.

"Mom, Big Brother will come back, right?" His sister’s voice trembled, carrying a sob.

"He will, your brother will definitely come back." His mother held her hand tightly, trying to comfort her, but her heart was equally filled with unease.

The beasts roared into the village, destroying houses and devouring lives, his mother and sister were trapped with nowhere to run, looking at the beasts outside the window, their hearts filled with despair.

Right at that moment, Vale finally rushed back.

He heard the cries and saw the rampaging beasts, his heart twisted like a knife, for he knew all of this was his fault, if only he had come back sooner, if only he was a bit stronger, perhaps he could have stopped all of this.
