Godslayer's Legend

Chapter 1085: A Vanishing Enemy

The man’s enormous muscles bulged beneath his black bodysuit, while the head and golden hide of the Nemean lion hung over his body like a cloak.

In his hands was a gigantic club that looked crude when compared to regular weapons, much less the magnificently designed weapons wielded by other beings on his level.

But that crude club possessed within it enough concentrated divinity to crack the battle axes wielded by the Master of the Universe of Jotunheim.

The Giant King pulled back his axes and backed away, raising his axes to examine them, and upon spotting the cracks running through their blades, his expression darkened.

The one responsible for dealing that damage, Heracles, narrowed his eyes and spoke to the Aesir behind him.

“Thor. We’re surrounded.”

Almost as if his words were the signal, the space around them warped, spatial gates opening to grant passage to multiple Archdemons and Devils, each one armed to the teeth with their Authorities already active.

Thor frowned, his grip on his hammer tightening as powerful lightning coursed through it. His eyes then began to glow with intense divinity, and his body seemed to grow a little bit bigger.

Seeing that Thor didn’t lose his nerve, Heracles returned his full focus to the Frost Giant King in front of him, Harmarti.

He exhaled softly, activating his Unique Authorities, causing powerful magic power and divinity to swirl around his body like a storm.

Immediately, the Archdemons charged towards the gods, refusing to give them any time to prepare their attacks.

Thor quickly swung his hammer forward and sent it flying through space, lightning crackling around the weapon as it collided with one Archdemon, unleashing an explosive burst of divine lightning that leapt from his body towards another demon.

Thor himself shot towards Utgard-Loki’s face, his fist coated in bright white lightning, and with Thor charging straight at him, Utgard-Loki coated his gauntlet in dark magic power and threw out his fist to meet Thor’s incoming punch.

In the same instant their fists collided, Heracles swung his club towards Harmarti, whose two axes rose to meet the incoming weapon, the collision of their power knocking back all the Archdemons around them.

Still, the Archdemons didn’t back down, immediately charging back towards Heracles and forcing him to fight off Harmarti while also intercepting attacks from the other demons.

Within seconds, hundreds of attacks had already been exchanged between both sides, and golden blood had begun spilling through space as the two gods found themselves heavily outnumbered.

The Divine Alliance forces, however, weren’t simply going to watch two of their strongest combatants get surrounded.

Arrows coated in flaming divinity shot through space towards the backs of the Archdemons at light speed, catching some of them off guard and creating an opening that Heracles immediately exploited.

The moment the arrows pierced one Archdemon’s back, Heracles swung his club towards the demon, smashing its chest with his strength and sending its body flying into another Archdemon, knocking both of them out of the battle in one fell swoop.

Harmarti tried to attack Heracles in that instant, but he sensed danger from behind and had no choice but to redirect his power into blocking the arrows of divinity coming towards his back.

His arms moved so fast they looked like a blur, his frozen axes knocking away all the arrows aimed at him within a second. He then raised his gaze, his glowing blue eyes narrowing on the archer, who met Harmarti’s gaze and drew his bow once more.

“Tyr!”

The Frost Giant King called out the name of Asgard’s god of War, immediately charging towards him at breakneck speed, his axes cutting down all the arrows fired his way.

His charge was interrupted, however, as Ra and Horus of Egito, a renowned grandfather-grandson duo with immense power, attacked him midway, forcing him onto the defensive immediately.

Harmarti frowned as he glared at Ra, his expression darkening at the sight of the god before him.

|Of all the divine bastards I had to run into…!|

Ra looked old and frail, the white robes he wore seeming far too large for his body, however, Harmarti knew better than to underestimate the ‘Sun’ of the Egito Universe.

The Frost Giant’s blue skin shimmered under the flaming light of Ra’s divinity, his power reflexively rousing in response to Ra’s opposing elemental affinity.

Magic power flowed from his arms and into the two axes he held, enlarging them as he swung them towards Ra’s crook with enough force to tear through the surrounding space.

Ra calmly raised his crook to meet the incoming axes, the collision of their Authority-imbued weapons unleashing another eruption of power that swept across the surroundings.

Neither gave the other any opportunity to back away, and within moments, the intensity of their battle spiked, with both of them unleashing one full-powered attack after another.

Similar battles soon erupted all across the area as more Masters from the other Divine Alliance universes joined the fray, each one possessing enough power to alter the course of the ongoing battle with their presence alone.

Naturally, the Masters of the Infernal Coalition didn’t hesitate to enter the battlefield either.

Soon, the battlefield had become a mirror of the one from just a few minutes earlier, except the combatants now clashing across space were all at least Superior Stage High-Tier Deities, Main Entities, Masters, and other notable Monarch Realm existences from their respective universes.

◇ ◇ ◇

The battles went on for hours without any signs of slowing down, and amidst the chaos, Asgard’s Thor and Jotunheim’s Utgard-Loki clashed again and again, each attack quaking the surrounding space.

Thor threw his hammer at Utgard-Loki, but the Jotun evaded the light-speed throw with relative ease, letting it spin through space and smash into several Archdemons, and even send a Devil King tumbling uncontrollably through the battlefield.

Utgard-Loki laughed at the sight before turning back towards Thor, a wicked gleam in his eyes.

‘It’s time!’

The Jotun raised his hands, and immense magic power flowed from his fingers, spreading through the surrounding space.

Thor’s expression immediately darkened at the sight, extending his hand to summon Mjolnir back into his grasp.

‘What is he plotting?’

The Aesir knew that Utgard Loki’s speciality wasn’t armed or unarmed combat, but magic, yet throughout their entire battle Utgard-Loki had chosen to fight with his fists.

It was a sight that had not only Thor but every other Asgardian who saw it, whether Aesir or Vanir, immensely wary.

The ‘Jotun of Magic and Trickery’ fighting with his fists? He was definitely up to something fishy.

This was why Thor had continued engaging Utgard-Loki, intending to disrupt whatever it was the Jotun was planning with his magic.

Just as he raised Mjolnir, Utgard-Loki met Thor’s eyes, and with a laugh, he mouthed a single word.

‘Bye?’

Thor’s expression turned confused, but that confusion instantly became shock when, suddenly, Utgard-Loki, Harmarti, as well as every Archdemon, Devil, Dark Elf, Demonic Dragon, and whatever other Infernal Coalition member present, all suddenly vanished.

And for my next act, I shall disappear.

—Utgard-Loki, probably.
