Chapter 1994: Handing him over to the higher ups

I opened the main gate and exited the city. The other officials and the guards then moved to save their injured colleague.
They didn’t know why their colleague would attack a Supreme Wizard who was clearly stronger than everyone here.
Everyone knows that the slightest of coercion could cripple them. Yet their colleague was suicidal. They can only blame him.
Even if the City Lord Bryan was here, he would do the same.
On the other hand, I moved further away from the City Gate. I came to a secluded spot where no one was there.
I checked using the system whether the place was safe or not. Then I appeared inside the system space. I saw the City Lord Bryan was still unconscious.
"Did he wake up?" I asked the Zero puppet.
"No, master. He is still unconscious," the Zero puppet replied.
Then I nodded my head.
"I’m taking him outside. Wait here for me." After saying that, I brought the City Lord Bryan outside.
We appeared under the tree. I checked the condition of City Lord Bryan using the system. I don’t want the enemy force to play tricks.
I guess the change in behavior of the official earlier was because of the evil magic spell.
A hint of worry appeared in my eyes. Earlier, the system said that City Lord Bryan might die if he continued to stay unconscious. The evil magic spell would likely respond.
I hope Lord Charlotte appears here before that.
"Hmmm"
Then I heard a sound from City Lord Bryan. He is going to be awake. I looked at his reaction. His eyebrows moved. Then he opened his eyes and looked at me.
"System, how long does he need to be awake so that the evil spell won’t react?" I asked the system.
[Ding! A couple of seconds are enough]
I heard the system voice.
"You...."
"Who are you?" Bryan asked.
I gave him a few seconds to be conscious. Then my fist snapped out and struck his face.
Boom!
City Lord Bryan was knocked out again. His body fell sideways. My eyes flashed with satisfaction.
A few minutes later,
I heard the system voice again.
[Ding! A few Forbidden Wizards are getting closer.]
My heart skipped a beat. I’m sure it is Forbidden Wizard Charlotte.
"Wow. You brought him outside."
The next second, I heard a female voice in the sky. It’s the familiar voice, and it was the voice of Lord Charlotte.
In the blink of an eye, a few figures appeared in front of him. I saw that apart from Lord Charlotte, the others have covered their faces. It was not a mask.
Yet I could only see mists.
"System, what’s going on?" I asked.
[Ding! The forbidden wizards are using the power of rules to obscure the view of others.]
Hearing that, my eyes flashed with understanding. Then I said, "Lord, it’s him. There is something wrong with him. Earlier, I saw him communicating with a lifelike bird puppet."
"It’s clearly an enemy voice. He was waiting for the arrival of the wizards from the Magic City. I knocked him out at the right time and captured him," I added.
Lord Charlotte was wearing a white magic dress. Her gaze fell on Vincent Carey. It’s been a long time since she had last seen him.
She tried to see through the strength of Vincent Carey first. She found out that his Supreme Wizard strength was deeper, like a veteran.
She realized that the mission to the Opal Magic Forest had yielded him benefits.
The other figures assessed Vincent Carey. They were taken aback as well. Clearly, the strength of Vincent Carey surprised them.
Not only that, but he had collected evidence like Holden Barrett. But Holden Barrett was from the neutral faction.
"Did you find anything else?" she asked.
Hearing that, I said, "He seems to be under an evil spell. Earlier, an official attacked me knowing that I’m a Supreme Wizard. He was under the influence of the evil spell as well. He lost his mind."
Charlotte raised her eyebrows. The next second, she turned towards the others and nodded her head.
Swoosh!
One of them stepped forward. He got closer to the City Lord Bryan. He took out a glass cube from his storage ring.
The next second, he poured mana into it. The cube became active. It enlarged in size. The wizard pushed it towards City Lord Bryan.
The cube touched the body of City Lord Bryan. The next second, the glass-like cube enveloped him as a whole.
In the blink of an eye, City Lord Bryan was inside the glass-like coffin. Then I noticed the expression of the City Lord eased.
"System, what’s going on?" I asked the system.
[Ding! The glass coffin is a powerful artifact. It has neutralized the power of the evil spell.]
I heard the system voice. My heart was stirred. I never expected to see such a powerful artifact.
"Good, we will take him to our place and interrogate him," Charlotte said.
She then turned towards Vincent Carey and said, "Vincent, you did a good job. Right now, Holden Barrett is leading the investigation in the Silver Tower. But he is from the neutral faction."
"Now your discovery has come at the right time. It gives an opportunity to our faction as well," she added.
"I just did my mission," I replied.
"You will get your reward. But it will be decided after getting intel from this person. You can continue with the mission. We are leaving right now," Charlotte said.
Hearing that, I nodded my head.
The next second, the wizard collected the glass container into his storage ring. Then the group left the place.
Only then I took a deep breath and exhaled. It was a close call. It’s not easy to deal with an unknown evil force. Their magic was especially new to me.
Fortunately, I have the system with me. If not for the system, the City Lord Bryan would have died or lost his mind earlier. The evil magic spell would have acted.
Now that he was handed over, I hope they discover something soon. After collecting my thoughts, I began going back to the city.
