Chapter 1995: News spreads in the Silver Tower

Chapter 1995: News spreads in the Silver Tower

Darkwood City

I returned to the city gate. The guards and the city officials were still there as well. Upon seeing me, they became tense again.

I approached the gate. I ignored them before opening it. Then I entered the place without turning back. It didn’t take long for me to find a cab.

I approached the cab driver and told him to take me to the hotel. Then I opened the door and sat down in the back seat.

Buzz!

The car departed from the place. The car was moving in mid-air. I was watching the passing scenes through the window. Soon, the cab reached the hotel.

Slowly, the cab landed in front of the hotel. I exited the cab and paid the fare to the driver. Then I looked around. I asked the system whether anyone was paying attention.

The system results came back negative. I sighed in relief. Then I walked into the hotel. The staff behind the desk nodded to me.

I nodded to him in response before going to the room.

After reaching the room, I opened the door and went inside. The members were still awake. They greeted me.

"Master, did you find anything?" Otto asked.

Hearing that, I raised my eyebrows. I didn’t expect the members to realize something was amiss. My gaze swept across Patrick, Hank, and old man Rock as well.

"I went to attend calls from my higher-ups," I said to them.

The members understood and no one asked further questions. But they were ready to do the mission. Once again, they left the hotel to gather intelligence.

I went to my room to rest. But I looked around before appearing inside the system space. The Zero puppet was there. Then I brought him outside to gather intel.

The Zero puppet turned into a red smoke form. It left through the gap in the window. Next, I appeared inside the Gregor Mansion. I had already handed over City Lord Bryan to Lord Charlotte.

I didn’t know whether the city hid any secrets. I went to bed to sleep.

Meanwhile,

The red smoke went to a deserted and remote part of the city to gather intel, whereas the members were roaming around the city.

Otto relied on his magic ability, whereas old man Rock depended on his experience. Both of them tried to collect information in their own ways.

...

Magic City - Silver Tower

Charlotte and the other wizards returned to the Silver Tower. They entered the place and went to the prison cell, where they had placed City Lord Bryan, who was locked inside a glass coffin.

Charlotte and the others looked at City Lord Bryan. This time, they showed their original faces and appearances. They didn’t hide their appearance here.

"Vincent Carey did an amazing job. The glass coffin has neutralized whatever evil magic spell was affecting City Lord Bryan," one of them said.

"The next step is important. We should inform the Elders. We don’t know what type of evil spell he was under," another wizard said.

Charlotte listened to them. She thought of inviting Elder Dana. She took out her device and made a call to Elder Dana.

She was worried that Elder Dana might be busy, but the call was connected immediately. Next, she told her about the situation.

The other wizards remained silent. They understood that she had made a call to one of the Elders.

Elder Dana heard everything. She was surprised. She was not in the Silver Tower right now, but she decided to return.

"You guys don’t leave the person alone. I’m going there. Don’t let other factions near the person. They might try to interrogate him. Tell them that I’m on my way there," Dana replied.

"Okay," Charlotte said.

She then ended the call and turned towards the others.

"Elder Dana is on her way here. She wants us to stay here until then. Other factions could make use of this opportunity," she said to them.

Hearing that, the others nodded, ready to cooperate.

There were other prisoners in the prison cell, and there were guards here as well. They were members of the Silver Tower.

They understood that Charlotte and the others had caught an important person. Soon, the news reached the ears of the other members as well.

The White Silver Faction had caught an important person.

The Black Silver Faction and the Neutral Faction of the Silver Tower were surprised as well. They didn’t expect Lord Charlotte and the others to gain such an achievement.

The news reached the ears of Holden Barrett. He was one of the members of the neutral faction. He was the one who had first obtained the intel related to the enemy faction.

He didn’t expect the White Silver Faction to get something now. Since Lord Charlotte and the others were involved, he thought it must be a big thing. He couldn’t wait to get some details from them.

If both of their pieces of intel were related, then they could find more information on their enemy. Holden Barrett instructed Butler Gideon.

He was outside, but he wanted the family to keep an eye on the White Silver Faction. For some reason, he thought of Vincent Carey.

His mouth curved into an arc. He didn’t know what the person was doing. Compared to all the Supreme Wizards in the Silver Tower, he was in the lead right now.

He didn’t think Vincent Carey could perform well in the current mission. It required resources and a lot of manpower. He was also using the manpower from his family.

That’s why he was confident that Vincent Carey wouldn’t be able to do anything. He pushed away the thoughts and resumed his work.

...

Meanwhile,

The Black Tower was doing the mission as well. They had more support from outside the Magic City.

They especially had support from the unknown dark territory.

They were using their help to collect intel related to the unknown enemy faced by the Mage Union.

Right now, they fell short of manpower. They immediately contacted Remi; they needed his help.

Remi was inside the Magic City when he got the repeated calls. He didn’t dare to ignore them. He answered the call and received the mission.

He then immediately left the Magic City.
