Chapter 1997: Part 1: Nova City
Outside Territory
The raven aircraft was flying in the sky. No one spoke. Everyone was observing the area outside. Each of them was keeping an eye on the surroundings.
Who knew? They could be silently followed. On the other hand, I was already using the system to scan the area. If anyone appeared nearby, I would know.
I took my device out and started viewing the map. Darkwood City is neutrally located near the northeast border.
They were now traveling in the northeastern direction. It didn’t take long for them to reach the next city. But I didn’t stop the aircraft and continued to operate it.
The aircraft next flew over the city. I looked down through the window and saw a few infrastructures.
This city appeared to be a small city. Only various transport vehicles could be seen on the ground. The aircraft quietly left the city.
Then I saw on the map that the next city was already going to be a medium-sized city. The land area was vast compared to Darkwood City.
I had heard about the city during my stay in the appraisal shop. Customers had come from this city as well.
The city is called Nova. Unlike Darkwood City, it was not a neutral city. This Nova City comes under the Magic City. But they are not connected to any particular Magic Towers.
I didn’t know why, but I felt this city was going to be interesting. I closed the map and put away the device.
One hour later,
The raven aircraft reached Nova City. Before the aircraft could get closer to the gate, I stopped the aircraft.
The members opened the door and exited the aircraft one by one. Then I appeared outside and put the aircraft inside the system space.
Otto, Patrick, Hank, and old man Rock looked towards the city ahead. We then landed on the ground.
Everyone saw the city gate and walls were over 50ft. There were many stalls and tents outside the city gate. We started walking on foot towards the city gate.
Tents of different sizes were on both sides of the street. People could be seen chatting outside the tents.
Some of them were sitting on reclining chairs and chatting with people. They had no worries about the outside world.
My gaze went over them. I found out that they had decent strength. They were between level-5 to level-7.
With that strength, they could find some job in the city. They couldn’t be that helpless.
Otto noticed the Master’s gaze and looked towards the tents. He saw that many were not in good condition.
He used his ears to listen to them. The groups were gossiping about things inside the city. He shook his head and stopped listening to them.
Patrick, Hank, and old man Rock saw them as well. They had experienced that phase before.
We crossed the various tents and camps before arriving at the huge iron gate. There was an entry and exit door.
People were allowed to come and go. The guards were doing inspections. After reaching the place, I saw there were people standing in a queue.
If it were earlier, he would have tried to stay low-key. But he thought that the enemy they were facing could easily find them. There was no need to deliberately hide.
"Follow me," I said to the members.
Hearing that, the members were surprised. I walked straight up to the gate. The people in line were outraged. They hurled words at us.
I ignored them and stood in front of the guard.
"We are from the Magic City. Open the gate," I said to the guard in a solemn tone.
Gasp!
A loud exclamation occurred. The people standing in line were petrified. Those who had hurled accusations trembled in fear.
The guards were taken aback. The Magic City is the place where the Magic Towers are located. The guards saw the masked man and the others behind him.
Clearly, they were supreme wizards, and that one old man appeared to be even stronger. The guards broke out into a cold sweat.
Before they could do anything, the leader of the guards arrived. He was a middle-aged man. When he heard what had happened, he immediately allowed the wizard team to enter the city.
He didn’t even dare to ask for a badge because he knew no one would dare to impersonate the people of the Magic City.
Especially since they were closer to the border. The people in line sighed in relief. They had been close to offending powerful wizards.
After entering the city, we started walking along the footpath. I was observing the place. There were shops open on both sides of the street.
In front of the shops were holographic advertisements. They were advertisements about products from the Magic City.
I raised my eyebrows in surprise. I didn’t expect this city to be this modern and rich. I had seen this only inside the Magic City and the satellite cities around it.
As we walked further, we came across a vertical garden. It was well-maintained. The people on the streets were doing their own business without chaos.
Seeing that everything was in order, I wondered whether any hostile forces had infiltrated the city. I turned around and found that not only me, but the others were stunned as well.
"Master, is this city run by any powerful wizard family?" Otto asked.
Hearing that, my eyes flickered with understanding.
"It could be possible," I uttered.
Soon, we came across a hotel. We saw the hotel had multiple floors. We decided to stay here. We walked into the building and came to the admin desk.
We directly booked the premium suite again. A staff member came to guide us to the hotel room. As usual, when they asked about our identity, I simply uttered, "Magic City."
They didn’t dare to ask for a badge.
A few minutes later,
We were in our room. The staff member left the place. I did a scan using the system. After confirming there was no problem, each of us selected a room to rest.
