Chapter 2001: Part 1: Magic Smoke Plant
Nova City
One hour later,
After getting ready, I left the hotel. I’m wearing a mask to hide my identity. If anyone else with information sees me, they would think of me as Appraiser Frank.
This time I didn’t find any cab. I started walking on the footpath along the main road. I’m eager to find out whether anyone was following me or not.
The vehicles moved past me. The passersby are coming across me from time to time. But so far, I didn’t find anyone suspicious.
My gaze is sweeping over the open shops. The customers are coming in and going out. I walked past those shops before seeing a path split in two ways.
One goes straight along the main road. The other one goes to the left side of the alley. Out of a whim, I made up my mind to travel on the road which was not frequently used.
I entered the darker side and started walking slowly. My gaze fell ahead. The path has buildings on both sides. But it was the back side of the buildings. There are no vehicles parked here.
I’m the only one walking alone. But I heard the noise of sewage water running below in the tunnel. It shows how quiet this road was.
I followed it until the road’s end. Then I saw the road was further divided into many ways. It goes through the densely populated areas.
I observed the road before selecting the road which was quiet. Not long after walking down the road, I came across the troublemakers.
There are four people who were smoking. I saw it was something that resembled a plant. I used the system right away and understood it was indeed a plant, but it was some type of magic plant. It’s giving them a high.
The main area of the road has modern tech advertisements like holographs. They have maintained a good aesthetic by maintaining the vertical gardens.
But the back side of the buildings was totally opposite. It appeared to be the dwelling place of the troublemakers.
I hadn’t heard this report from the members. Just as I’m going to cross the troublemakers, they stopped smoking and entered the road to block me.
My gaze fell on the four people. I saw through their Tier-7 strength right away. I shook my head. They were so high that they forgot I’m a Supreme Wizard.
Then I walked forward and decided to bypass them. But the group once again blocked the path. This time they have surrounded me, not allowing me to go forward or retreat.
"Take your storage bracelet out," one of them said in a threatening tone.
An icy coldness appeared in my eyes.
Boom!
The next second, I released a tiny bit of coercion. It immediately struck the four of them. Four of their bodies rocketed before crashing into the buildings.
Their faces were all covered in blood and bruises. They were still high and couldn’t figure out what happened just now.
I shook my head and tried to continue the journey.
Boom!
The next second, something happened. A storm set off in my heart.
The four of them stood up from the debris like puppets. They were disheveled. Hands were broken and blood was flowing out from the injuries.
Yet they stood up on their feet at the same time, as if someone ordered them to do so.
[Ding! Evil Magic Plant is detected.]
[Ding! Host is advised not to inhale the smoke.]
[Ding! The Wizards will be controlled.]
In that moment, I heard the system’s voice in my mind.
I turned towards the four people and saw their eyes were completely green. It’s proof that they were not in their right mind.
My eyes flashed with seriousness. Once again, I’m facing something new. I hadn’t heard before that a magic plant can be used to control people.
Boom!
The four of them charged at me. Seeing that they were running towards me to attack instead of using a spell attack, I understood that they had lost their sanity.
My gaze fell on the magic plant on the floor. The plant is covered in smoke, and the smoke is connected to each of the four people.
Swoosh!
I disappeared from the spot. I appeared in front of the magic plant which was covered in smoke. I picked the plant and put it away inside the system space.
Then I turned towards them. I saw that the plant smoke was connecting their bodies. But the remaining smoke in their bodies was influencing them.
Boom!
They continued to charge at me. This time I didn’t break their bodies. I simply used the coercion to block them.
Four of their faces contorted and they were drooling. Seeing that, I knew it was the effect of the plant smoke.
They are not able to move an inch. They were frozen on the spot. But I could see the smoke disappearing. I want to know what’s going to happen next.
10 minutes later,
The smoke completely dispersed from one of the people. He fell unconscious to the ground. A similar thing happened to the rest of them as well. They fell down unconscious.
But they were all alive. I didn’t want to kill them because I wanted to know the truth about the magic plant.
Seeing that they were on the ground, I used the system to check their condition. The system’s reply gave me a surprise.
As per the system, the four of their minds were hurt. They won’t be able to wake up for at least a few days.
I sighed. I can’t take them back to the hotel. But I need information from them. Then, I decided to put them inside the system space.
But I have already placed the magic plant there. So, I put the four of them inside the mansion hall. Their unconscious bodies appeared there.
Then I resumed the journey. I don’t know whether it’s connected to the unknown hostile force or not, but it was interesting to know about such a magic plant.
They had lost their minds because of it. I continued to observe the place to see whether anyone similar was there.
