Chapter Fourteen: To Hell with Him!

"Take that dirty look out of your eyes. Who told you to stare at someone else’s little girl?"

Snape turned his head at that moment, caught Ollivander’s gaze, and said with disgust.

Ollivander subconsciously looked away, but immediately realized something was wrong.

Wait. Why am I the one feeling guilty?

His gaze had only been curious. How could it possibly be considered lecherous?

Although he wanted to argue with Snape, he swallowed his indignation when he remembered that repairing such a large shop would probably require Snape’s help.

Vesey watched the exchange with amusement.

After finishing her ice cream and watching Snape and Ollivander repair the shop with their wands, she felt her hands getting itchier and itchier.

She hesitated for a moment before taking out her wand.

I’ll just give it a try. It should be fine, right?

To make sure there wouldn’t be another problem, she specifically asked Ollivander.

"Mr. Ollivander, I want to try the Repairing Charm too. I won’t blow up the shop again, will I?"

She was a little worried that another explosion might actually destroy the place completely.

Ollivander smiled.

"Don’t worry! The wand will only behave like that the first time it’s used.

"I used a unicorn horn in it, and you made the wand so excited that it exploded on its own. That won’t happen again."

Vesey breathed a sigh of relief.

She played with the wand for a moment, then imitated Snape’s movements and shouted:

"Reparo!"

Boom!

No, the wand shop didn’t explode.

Instead, Vesey felt as though her brain itself was about to explode.

The wand had almost drained all the magical power from her body.

If Vesey hadn’t immediately used her energy to stop the wand from drawing more magic from her, she felt that it might have completely drained her dry.

The good news was that the wand shop had been completely restored.

That meant this wand really was extraordinarily powerful.

But Vesey was now genuinely afraid to use it.

She quickly threw the wand aside.

Snape rushed over and cast several spells on Vesey.

When he noticed the strange glow surrounding her body, he turned toward Ollivander with a livid expression.

"If anything happens to Vesey, I won’t let you off!"

Vesey was speechless.

She remembered that it was only emperors who had their doctors buried with them, right?

"Professor, I’m fine!"

She had been frightened just now, but after thinking about it, she actually found the experience rather exciting.

Her only regret was that she had used a little too much energy.

"Fine? What nonsense!"

Snape shouted coldly.

Before Vesey could say anything else, he grabbed her by the shoulders and immediately took her back to Hogwarts.

Vesey soon felt as though she were on the verge of dying.

Snape placed her on a stretcher and hurried straight to the hospital wing.

"Poppy, look at Vesey!"

Snape said in a trembling voice.

Vesey was so embarrassed by his frantic behavior that she almost wanted to faint.

However, she was still perfectly conscious when Madam Pomfrey hurried over, looking as though Vesey were on the verge of death and needed immediate treatment.

"What happened, Severus?"

Madam Pomfrey asked as she cast several spells at Vesey.

Vesey quickly explained, "It’s all right. I probably just exhausted my magic..."

But Madam Pomfrey’s expression immediately became even more frightening than Snape’s.

"You call this all right? Severus, this child needs to be hospitalized! How long she’ll need to recover depends on her condition!"

she shouted.

Then she took out two more bottles of restorative potion.

"Child, drink these. You’re in serious danger right now!"

Vesey suddenly began to feel guilty.

Was she really in danger?

After using a little energy to check her condition through the system, Vesey finally breathed a sigh of relief.

Exhausting all her magic at once as a child could potentially cause her to become a Squib, but with the system, treatment was extremely simple.

She only needed two energy points to restore everything.

Vesey immediately decided not to use them.

She had already consumed more than twenty energy points today!

And then she had gotten this ridiculous wand, which had nearly killed her.

The energy consumed by this wand was worth ten of her lives.

It’s incredible. Truly incredible.

But it’s also incredibly dangerous.

She sighed deeply.

She looked at Madam Pomfrey, ready to thank her before taking the potion.

But before she could say anything, she merely paused for a moment.

The next thing she knew, Snape was anxiously pouring a bottle of potion into her mouth.

Vesey grimaced in pain.

She endured the awful taste and looked at Snape with her best helpless expression.

"Professor, I really feel fine. And I haven’t even had the chance to say goodbye to Mr. Ollivander yet!"

She looked at Snape pitifully.

Snape snorted.

"To hell with him!"

Then he picked up another bottle of potion and looked at Vesey threateningly.

"Drink it, then get some sleep!"

Vesey sighed.

She took the potion, tilted her head back, and drank it herself.

She gagged, barely managing not to spit it out.

Compared with traditional medicine, this is a completely different level of suffering.

"Thank you, Professor. Thank you, Madam Pomfrey. No one has ever cared about me this much before. These past few days feel like a dream..."

As she spoke, she gradually felt her consciousness drifting away.

Knowing that this was merely the effect of the potion, she didn’t resist it.

After forcing herself to finish those words, she fell asleep the next second.

Madam Pomfrey pitifully tucked a blanket around her and asked in an annoyed tone:

"Severus, where did you take Vesey? The child nearly became a Squib!"

Snape frowned irritably.

"I took her to buy a wand."

He briefly explained everything that had happened.

If I’d known that wand would do this to Vesey, I might as well have let Ollivander make her one using Vesey’s ribs and blood.

It would have been much safer than that thing.

"So that’s what happened."

Madam Pomfrey nodded.

"By the way, Severus, you’ll have to help me brew some nutritional potions.

"As you must have noticed, Vesey is extremely thin. It’s obvious that she hasn’t been eating enough. This poor child will need to stay in the hospital wing for a few more days."

Snape nodded.

After giving Vesey a deep look, he quickly left the hospital wing.
