Chapter Twenty-Six: A spineless coward who relies on women!
"You want to fight?"
Harry and Ron clenched their fists.
Harry slapped away Malfoy’s hand as he reached out to shake Vesey’s.
He still glanced at Vesey worriedly, afraid that she might actually be confused by Malfoy.
Of course, Vesey would never become friends with Malfoy.
If she were really a girl, perhaps she might even have put in a good word for Malfoy.
After all, Malfoy clearly wanted to win her over. It was practically written all over his face.
In the original story, this guy might have been interested in Harry, but now that Vesey was by his side, his attention immediately shifted to her.
He was even showing off his wealth in a coquettish manner.
But that didn’t appeal to Vesey at all. Instead, it only made her face twist with jealousy.
Why?
This guy could be a man and flirt with girls, while she was actually stuck disguised as a girl?
The jealous Vesey immediately snapped angrily, "We’ll never be friends with someone like you! You don’t respect my brother’s friends, so why should we respect you?"
The moment she said this, Harry let out a huge sigh of relief.
Ron looked deeply moved.
Malfoy angrily lowered his hand.
"It seems you really want to fight!"
He was furious.
Then he noticed the table in their compartment, which was covered with snacks. He pointed at it and shouted, "Looks like I have to teach these brats a lesson—and take all of this away!"
Goyle and Crabbe immediately rushed forward.
Vesey’s mouth twitched.
Good grief. Malfoy’s idea of fighting is actually about stealing snacks?
Harry and Ron tried their best to block them, but Goyle and Crabbe were surprisingly strong, which made the two of them increasingly worried.
"Vesey, you go out first..."
Go out?
Vesey knew Harry and Ron were worried that she might get hurt in the fight.
But she didn’t need their protection.
She immediately pulled out her wand.
"Bind them!"
A rope shot from the tip of her wand and automatically wrapped itself around Goyle and Crabbe, tying the two of them together.
They lost their balance and crashed onto the table and sofa, dragging the rope with them.
They crushed Scabbers.
The rat let out a sharp squeak.
He struggled desperately, scattering the candies and snacks all over the floor.
"Clean up!"
Vesey shouted again.
Everything on the floor immediately gathered together into a neat pile.
She pointed her wand at the bag again, and all the snacks lined up in an orderly fashion before jumping into it one after another.
Harry and Ron were stunned.
"Vesey, didn’t you not read the books?"
Vesey looked puzzled.
"I didn’t read any books! But when I went to Diagon Alley that day, I heard other people using spells like this, so I stood nearby and learned them. Actually, I know quite a few spells. But it seemed like this was enough."
Harry and Ron stared at Vesey in shock.
"You learned it just by watching?"
Vesey looked even more surprised than they did.
"Well, what else? These spells are very simple. Don’t worry, Brother. Even someone as stupid as me can learn them. You two are so smart, so you’ll definitely learn them very quickly!"
What a nice thing to say.
Vesey’s eyes were filled with admiration as she looked at them.
But Harry and Ron didn’t know what to say.
Even Crabbe, Goyle, and Malfoy fell strangely silent.
Are geniuses called idiots now?
Ron was the first to recover. He immediately shouted, "Get out of here! Otherwise, we’ll have Vesey hang you from the window!"
Vesey maintained her persona and subconsciously added, "But I don’t know the spell for hanging people outside!"
Harry and Ron nearly stumbled.
Our silly sister!
Harry quickly said, "As long as you tie them up, Ron and I can physically lift them out!"
The two boys glared viciously at Malfoy.
Malfoy snorted.
"Pathetic cowards who rely on a girl!"
But he was also afraid that Vesey might actually hang them out of the window, so he grabbed Crabbe and Goyle and hurriedly fled.
Of course, perhaps they also left because they heard footsteps approaching from outside.
It was Hermione.
She stood at the door and glanced inside.
"What happened?"
Vesey was about to answer, but Harry and Ron shouted in unison, "None of your business!"
Hermione was immediately unhappy.
"Do you think I actually want to interfere? I’m just worried that if you fight, you’ll get yourselves into trouble!"
"We didn’t fight. We just didn’t read. Vesey used a spell to bind Crabbe and Goyle. Is there anything else? If not, get out!"
Ron picked Scabbers up from the floor.
The rat seemed to have been knocked unconscious and lay motionless in Ron’s hand.
Ron glared irritably at Hermione.
"If you have nothing else to say, then leave!"
Hermione had no intention of leaving. Instead, she immediately looked at Vesey.
"You know spells? What spells do you know? Tell me. I can teach you too, you know? I’ve read a lot of books. I haven’t memorized everything yet, but..."
She launched into a long explanation.
Vesey sighed inwardly.
As expected, Hermione before Halloween really wasn’t very likable.
Even when she was saying something useful, her tone made it sound unpleasant.
Although Vesey knew the plot, she still didn’t particularly like Hermione’s manner of speaking, and Harry and Ron clearly felt the same way.
The two boys nearly glared holes through Hermione.
"Don’t worry about it. Vesey is much more talented than you!"
Harry spoke unhappily.
Ron looked at Hermione even more angrily.
"Vesey is just being humble. You should learn from her. I don’t know how your old classmates ever put up with you!"
Hermione was furious.
She turned around and stormed out of the compartment.
Harry and Ron simultaneously breathed a sigh of relief.
"That’s much better."
Vesey maintained her character and said, "My brother and Ron were so harsh with her just now. She must be really sad. Shouldn’t we go apologize to her?"
Harry and Ron didn’t care in the slightest.
Neither of them was particularly sympathetic.
Before meeting Vesey, they hadn’t even had much of a concept of girls.
After hearing Vesey, the two looked at each other and shouted in unison, "Forget about her!"
But when they saw Vesey’s disapproving expression, the two hypocritically promised that they would find an opportunity to apologize to Hermione later.
In reality, they forgot about the promise the moment they turned around.
Apologize?
How could they apologize to that arrogant Granger?
