Chapter Thirty-Four: She really deserves to die!

Millicent was a big girl, and Vesey had mistaken her for a boy the entire time.

This "strong" young lady immediately began sobbing.

She didn’t dare cry loudly, so she could only quietly sniffle, looking extremely pitiful.

Vesey raised her hand.

She didn’t particularly care whether Millicent was punished by Snape. She simply wanted to bring up the matter of her dormitory.

She wanted to live with other girls.

Unfortunately, Snape noticed her raised hand and let out an inaudible sigh, but he didn’t agree to her request.

Instead, he pointed his wand toward a dormitory and sent all of Vesey’s belongings inside.

"Go!"

He pointed his wand at Vesey.

Vesey immediately felt an invisible force pulling her backward. She was dragged into the dormitory, and the door slammed shut behind her.

After returning to the dormitory, Vesey was free to move around.

But her attempt to open the door was immediately noticed.

She watched helplessly as the lock fell into place, and even after trying for a while, she couldn’t open it.

At least, that was the case without using her wand and Energy.

But running out with her wand and Energy just to tell Snape that she wanted to share a dormitory with another girl felt a little...

Naughty?

Vesey struggled with the thought for a while before deciding to mention it to Snape next time.

She could simply say that nobody paid any attention to her and that she needed friends her own age.

Yes.

That was it!

Vesey’s mood immediately improved as she imagined herself living with another girl in the future.

She went to the bathroom and took a shower, then lay on the bed and read a book.

At first, she thought she wasn’t sleepy.

But the moment she opened the book, she could barely keep her eyes open.

So she gave in to her sleepiness, put the book aside, rolled around on the bed twice, and quickly fell asleep.

The next morning, Vesey woke up quite early.

She checked her timetable.

The first class was Transfiguration, which she would take together with Gryffindor.

She packed the required Transfiguration textbook and her wand into her book bag, then went to the common room to wait for the prefects to lead everyone to class.

She had assumed it was still too early for anyone else to be there.

To her surprise, several students were already waiting.

She was about to strike up a conversation and ask who the first-year prefect was when Cassandra proudly stood up.

She looked Vesey up and down, then snorted.

"Is the Potter family running out of money? They let you come out looking like this?"

Vesey was confused.

She had clearly tied her hair into a ponytail.

How is it messy?

But to Cassandra, Vesey’s hair looked completely disheveled.

"I suggest you go fix your hair!"

Cassandra said haughtily.

Vesey shook her head.

Cassandra snorted and took a small crown decorated with precious stones out of her pocket, apparently intending to put it on.

Vesey was horrified.

No!

Not wearing hair accessories was the last bit of stubbornness I had left!

She had to find a way to make sure nobody asked her to wear things like this again.

After all, it wasn’t only Cassandra. Even Snape liked buying such things for her.

She didn’t want to have to explain this sort of thing to them in the future.

Vesey blinked.

Then she immediately came up with a brilliant idea.

The emotion in her eyes suddenly turned into panic.

"No! I can’t wear that!"

She covered her head.

Cassandra’s expression changed.

"Why won’t you wear it? I use the prefect’s—"

Vesey interrupted her.

She spoke as though she were trapped in a nightmare.

"No! I won’t wear it! I’ll be beaten! They’ll grab my hair, beat me, and strangle me to death! I can’t..."

She shook her head frantically, and her eyes even seemed to redden.

Cassandra’s expression became ugly.

"Who hit you?"

Then she immediately corrected herself.

"You’re a Slytherin. Who would dare bully a Slytherin?"

Vesey seemed to come back to her senses.

She lowered her head and wiped her eyes as though wiping away tears.

Then she looked up.

"I’m sorry. I overreacted. I’m just a little scared. People used to say I was too ugly and tell me not to wear things like this because it would hurt their eyes. I..."

Cassandra pursed her lips.

Without saying anything, she silently put the hair accessory back into her pocket.

When Vesey saw this, she gently patted her own hand, as though saying:

I really am hopeless.

Fortunately, it was almost time to leave, and the other students gradually came out.

Only then did Vesey learn that Cassandra had won the duel the previous night and successfully become the first-year Slytherin prefect.

The other students who had remained in the common room that morning were also prefects.

Vesey was delighted.

Fortunately, Snape hadn’t forced her to become a prefect.

Getting up early every once in a while was fine.

But having to get up this early every day just to wait for everyone else?

Wouldn’t that kill her?

Life had already turned her into a girl.

Wasn’t she even allowed to sleep in?

She sighed.

When she raised her head, she noticed that Cassandra’s expression was slightly dark.

Vesey, however, didn’t think it had anything to do with her.

She simply smiled at Cassandra and joined the group.

"Let’s go to the Great Hall!"

Seeing that everyone was ready, the Slytherin Head Boy calmly announced, "All right, let’s go."

The prefects from each year led their classmates, and the Slytherins followed the larger group toward the Great Hall.

Vesey thought this arrangement was pretty good.

At least she wouldn’t be like some of the other first-years, who couldn’t even figure out how to get to the Great Hall.

However, along the way, Vesey was still stared at as though she were some kind of exotic animal.

"Look, it’s that red-haired girl!"

"She’s so cute!"

"She’s beautiful too!"

"I don’t understand. Why would she go to Slytherin?"

"Will her brother hate her?"

"I’ve never heard that Harry Potter had a sister!"

"..."

Vesey was speechless as she listened to the students around her buzzing like flies.

Eventually, she hid behind Cassandra.

When the students saw Cassandra’s cold expression, they immediately scattered.

But then Vesey heard the topic of their private conversations change.

"Look at her. None of the Slytherin girls like her!"

"Slytherin doesn’t have a single good person!"

"Harry Potter doesn’t even pay attention to her anymore."

"The professors don’t like her either. I heard the Head of Slytherin forced her to live alone last night!"

"She’s so pitiful!"
