Chapter 5: Take It Off—You’re Bigger Than Me!

Seeing Antoya’s wretched expression, the matron quickly smiled and led him toward Vesey’s room.

"You can have a good rest there this afternoon."

She glanced at Vesey again.

"Vesey, be careful. Don’t make Mr. Antoya angry!"

She smiled sweetly and pushed Vesey into the room.

Vesey heard the door being locked behind her.

Damn it!

Vesey was practically speechless.

The matron of an orphanage behaved more like the madam of a brothel.

She turned around and looked at Antoya.

The man was already grinning so broadly that he looked like he couldn’t wait to take off his trousers.

Vesey couldn’t help feeling disdainful.

I was already older than you when I first took my clothes off!

If only...

By the way, why hadn’t Snape come yet?

This was Lily’s daughter! How could he possibly remain so calm?

Vesey wanted to spend a little more Energy checking what Snape and Dumbledore were thinking.

But she resisted the urge.

Save it.

She thought for a moment.

When she saw Antoya actually beginning to take off his trousers, a worried expression immediately appeared on her face.

"Sir, what are you doing? Are you feeling unwell?"

"Yeah, it’s very uncomfortable. We’ll need our little Vesey to help us personally..."

Antoya stood up.

Vesey was just about to dodge when Antoya, who had been so smug a moment ago, suddenly collapsed heavily onto the floor.

Vesey was startled.

Then she realized that it must have been Snape or Dumbledore.

Eighty percent chance it was Snape.

If he could actually endure watching this without doing anything, then Snape would have to be an idiot.

Although Vesey wanted nothing more than to walk over and kick Antoya a few times herself, she didn’t.

Instead, she put on a worried expression and hurried over to him.

She slapped Antoya’s face.

"Sir? Wake up! What’s wrong with you?"

When she realized that Antoya wasn’t waking up, she ran over and pounded on the door.

But the door was locked, and there was no one outside. Naturally, no one came to open it.

"Open the door! Mr. Antoya has collapsed! Something might be wrong!"

She shouted loudly, pretending to be frantic with worry.

When no one came, she returned to Antoya and slapped him hard across the face again.

"I’m sorry, Mr. Antoya. I need to wake you up, so please forgive me!"

She lowered her voice, pretending to mutter to herself.

Then she quickly beat Antoya until his face was swollen and bruised, making him look like a pig’s head.

"Why isn’t he responding? Could Mr. Antoya be dying?"

She looked horrified.

Then she ran back to the door and began pounding on it again.

"Something really happened! Mother Dean, open the door!"

"Mr. Antoya is dying! Please send him to the hospital!"

"Why is this happening? Why is the door locked?"

She paced around the room anxiously, putting on a convincing performance.

Finally, she returned to Antoya.

"Sir, we’ll have to use the last resort. I remember that men wake up if you hit them hard enough..."

So she kicked him in the lower body.

Even though he was under a Full Body-Bind-like coma spell, Antoya still twitched.

Vesey’s eyes lit up as though she’d received encouragement.

She kicked him hard again.

Antoya twitched again.

"It really works! Let me help you!"

Apparently feeling that she hadn’t used enough force, she jumped into the air and came down with both feet landing squarely on Antoya’s lower body.

The pain was so intense that Antoya broke free of the spell.

His eyes flew open.

Vesey immediately filled her face with "surprise."

"Wonderful, sir! I successfully saved you!"

Antoya writhed in pain and opened his mouth to curse.

Unfortunately, his face had already been beaten into a pig’s head, and he couldn’t even get the words out.

Vesey didn’t feel guilty in the slightest.

"Sir, please hurry and knock on the door for help. Or call for the matron and ask her to open it. You were completely unconscious just now, and I didn’t know what to do."

She looked worried.

Her green eyes were glistening with tears.

Anyone could tell that she had been frightened.

And that made the people secretly watching her feel even more distressed.

Especially Snape.

He had actually planned to take Vesey away from the very beginning, but Dumbledore had stopped him.

Yes.

He had come here with Dumbledore.

After reading the diary, Snape had immediately gone to Dumbledore.

Although he wanted to tell Dumbledore about the diary, he discovered that no matter what method he tried, he simply couldn’t mention it.

So he made up a story instead, telling Dumbledore that Lily had a daughter who was living in an orphanage.

Before he could fabricate anything else, Dumbledore suddenly said Vesey’s name.

The two men looked at each other and immediately understood.

They had both received the diary.

"No matter what, I’m going to save her."

Snape immediately declared.

Dumbledore agreed.

After discussing it, they had come here three days ago.

When they arrived, they saw the matron opening Vesey’s Hogwarts letter.

They also saw her write a letter pretending to be Vesey’s parent, stating that she wouldn’t allow Vesey to attend Hogwarts.

Then she went to Vesey’s room to tell her about it.

Snape had intended to rescue Vesey the moment the door opened.

Nothing else mattered.

The child looked so much like Lily.

Especially those green eyes.

He had nearly lost control on the spot.

Fortunately, Dumbledore had stopped him.

"Wait."

Dumbledore refused to let him take Vesey away just yet.

"No matter what, she’s Lily’s child!"

Snape insisted.

But Dumbledore shook his head.

"I want to verify the diary’s authenticity."

Snape nearly lost his temper.

"Verify its authenticity? Do you want her to experience the very fate described in the diary?"

he demanded angrily.

Dumbledore quickly shook his head.

"No, no, no, Severus. I merely want to see what happens over these three days. If something like that really is going to happen, you can intervene."

Snape reluctantly agreed.

And so they waited for three days.

He had even stayed here and eaten his meals nearby, afraid that if he left, Vesey would be taken away and something would happen to her.

Finally, he endured it until today.

But just as he was about to intervene when he saw that man appear, Dumbledore stopped him again.

"Wait a moment, Severus."

Snape could only watch everything unfold.

When Vesey was pushed into the room, Snape nearly wanted to kill someone.

But Dumbledore stopped him once more.

"Didn’t you say you’d let me take action today?"

Snape glared viciously at Dumbledore.

Dumbledore looked at him disapprovingly.

"Don’t kill anyone in front of Vesey. You don’t want her to think you’re a murderer, do you?"

"But that man..."

Snape suppressed his murderous intent and stared at Antoya.

At that moment, all he wanted was to tear the man into pieces.

How dare he treat Lily’s daughter like this?
