Chapter 61: Chapter Sixty-One: Killing the Giant
Chapter Sixty-One: Killing the Giant
Harry suddenly realized what was happening, but by then they were already quite far from the Great Hall.
Not to mention that Snape had suddenly appeared.
Snape hurriedly followed the Gryffindor students who were heading upstairs. He looked extremely anxious, but there were too many students in front of him, and he couldn’t get through them at the moment.
"Where is he going?" Harry asked curiously.
"Why didn’t he just stay in the Great Hall and help the other professors get the students under control?"
Ron shook his head.
Vesey knew the answer, but she didn’t say anything.
She shouldn’t know about these things yet.
"Come on! Hermione is still waiting for us!"
Harry and Ron stopped talking and hurriedly followed Vesey toward the dungeons.
After running down several flights of stairs, they finally reached the lower levels.
"Do you smell something?"
Harry suddenly asked.
In fact, Vesey and Ron had already smelled it.
It smelled like a combination of filthy socks, rotting garbage, and a toilet that hadn’t been flushed in days.
Vesey only took one breath before immediately vomiting up the steak she had eaten.
"Clean it up!"
She quickly cleaned up the vomit and cast an air-freshening charm on herself.
That smell is horrible.
"Vesey, are you all right?"
Harry looked at her worriedly.
Vesey quickly shook her head.
I seriously underestimated the troll.
"I’m fine. I just threw up everything I ate. What a waste!"
She sighed.
Harry and Ron didn’t know whether to laugh or cry.
What a silly sister. She’s still worried about wasting food at a time like this!
"Let’s go. I’m fine now..."
Vesey suddenly stopped.
She looked toward a point farther down the corridor, and her face gradually turned pale.
Harry and Ron followed her gaze.
At the end of the corridor, a huge creature was slowly making its way toward them.
The sight was terrifying.
The creature was nearly twelve feet tall.
Its skin was gray like granite, and its enormous body looked almost as though it had been carved from mud.
Its head resembled a giant cocoa bean.
And it was the source of that disgusting smell.
Every step it took produced a heavy thud.
The enormous club dragging behind it scraped against the floor with a harsh sound that made their hair stand on end.
"Brother, you go first. I’ll hold it back!"
Vesey suddenly drew her wand.
She stepped in front of Harry and Ron, clearly intending to buy them time to escape.
Harry and Ron’s eyes immediately reddened with emotion.
"No! I’m not leaving, Vesey. I’m staying with you!"
Harry firmly stood beside her.
A trace of worry flashed through Vesey’s eyes.
She was about to say something when Ron suddenly whispered,
"There seems to be an opening!"
He was right.
Vesey and Harry both saw it.
The troll had suddenly stopped in front of an open doorway, seemingly intending to enter.
"We can lock it inside!"
Ron said nervously.
Harry’s eyes lit up.
"Good idea!"
Vesey pretended to hesitate.
She shook her head as though she were thinking hard.
"Don’t be so quick. I have a feeling..."
But Harry and Ron couldn’t wait any longer.
As soon as they saw the troll enter the room, they rushed over together.
Ron slammed the door shut, while Harry pulled the key from the lock.
Vesey pretended to be remembering something and suddenly shouted,
"No! Hermione is in there!"
At the same time, Hermione’s screams came from inside the room.
Harry and Ron’s faces instantly went pale.
"The bathroom?"
"Hermione!"
Vesey rushed over, trembling, took the key from Harry’s hand, and unlocked the door.
"Brother, let’s go!"
she shouted.
She was the first to rush inside.
She pointed her wand at the troll.
"Collapse!"
"Collapse!"
She cast the spell twice in succession, but when the magic struck the giant creature, it had very little effect.
The troll was clearly extremely resistant to magic, much like Hagrid.
"Bind it!"
Vesey shouted.
A rope suddenly wrapped itself around the troll.
"Hermione, come out!"
Vesey shouted.
Hermione had fallen to the floor in terror.
She shook her head frantically.
"I can’t move... I can’t move..."
Before she could finish, she let out another terrified scream.
The troll had already begun struggling against the rope.
Her eyes instantly filled with tears.
"You three, get out!"
Vesey shouted.
She took a deep breath, as though mentally preparing herself.
Then she raised her wand.
"Incendio!"
"Thunderbolt Explosion!"
The troll was blasted backward, staggering unsteadily.
Vesey seized the opportunity to rush to Hermione’s side and drag her toward the exit.
Harry and Ron also rushed forward to help.
Bang!
The giant creature raised its club and began smashing everything around it, roaring furiously.
Vesey closed her eyes.
Then she told herself that she was going to blow this troll apart.
She raised her wand once more.
"Thunderbolt Explosion!"
The moment the spell left her mouth, Vesey could feel the magical power within her body being continuously drained into the wand.
A terrifying explosion echoed throughout Hogwarts.
Everything inside the girls’ bathroom was blasted apart.
Harry, Ron, and Hermione were also thrown backward, leaving them bruised and battered.
Vesey rarely felt guilty.
She herself appeared completely unharmed.
After all, she possessed a body that was essentially harmless.
As long as she didn’t die, nothing serious would happen to her.
But faced with the current situation, even Vesey felt that this ability was a little too convenient.
She could already hear footsteps approaching from the upper floors.
Vesey quickly spent five Energy to create various wounds on her own body.
She had tested it before.
Apart from using Energy, she had no way to make herself look injured.
She also had the system create the appearance of her magical power being completely exhausted.
After all, although her magic had nearly been drained by the explosion, her harmless body had already restored it almost instantly.
It was practically like pressing a refresh button.
If she didn’t use Energy to fake her injuries and exhaustion, she would look completely different from Harry and the others.
After such a terrifying explosion, how could she possibly remain unharmed?
If Dumbledore saw that, he would definitely become suspicious.
Vesey sighed.
Then she looked toward the troll.
The giant creature had been blown apart, its terrifying remains scattered across the floor.
Vesey looked down and saw a piece of brain tissue lying near her feet.
It wasn’t even bloody, but it looked so disgusting that she almost vomited again.
Hurry up and get here.
She’s about to be sick from this!
Even Dumbledore would be welcome right now!
