Chapter Seventy: Men and Dogs...

[Ding! The reward has been prepared. Does the host wish to receive it now?]

Hearing the system prompt, Vesey immediately put aside the question of choosing a diary holder.

She could decide that before writing her next diary entry.

After all, whoever she chose had to be an honest person who was easy to fool.

Someone like that definitely wouldn’t affect her future diary evaluations.

For now, Vesey felt that receiving her rewards was more important.

This was her first S+ evaluation, after all.

She had no idea how many rewards she would receive.

Vesey immediately chose to claim them.

[Ding! Congratulations to the host for obtaining +200 charms Talent.]

[Ding! Congratulations to the host for obtaining +200 Transfiguration Talent.]

[Ding! Congratulations to the host for obtaining the God-level ability: Unlimited Power.]

[The host now possesses unlimited magical power.]

[Ding! Congratulations to the host for obtaining the Werewolf Transformation Potion.]

[After taking this potion, a werewolf can maintain human form and control their transformation. They will not transform or lose control during the full moon.]

[Ding! Congratulations to the host for obtaining 1,000 Energy.]

All the rewards were distributed at once.

The first two were Talent rewards.

In an instant, Vesey’s Charms and Transfiguration talents went from ordinary to genius-level.

She could only be considered an ordinary genius, but even an ordinary genius was already extraordinary.

Vesey was even more excited about the third reward.

Unlimited magical power!

Did that mean she could simply use her wand to blast Dumbledore apart?

[Ding! The system advises the host not to kill Diary Holder No. 247. The trust level of a deceased diary holder will remain at 0%.]

What?

Vesey froze.

Zero percent?

How much would that lower her future evaluations?

And if the system was saying this, did that mean she had to keep Dumbledore and Voldemort alive?

Those two were practically determined to kill each other.

How was she supposed to keep both of them alive?

Vesey suddenly felt as though her head were about to explode.

So annoying!

Just a moment ago, she had thought she was invincible.

Now she had suddenly become a nanny.

And not just any nanny.

She had to keep her diary holders alive.

"Wait, System. I don’t understand. How are people supposed to avoid dying? That’s impossible. Do I really have to save every diary holder?"

[Ding! The host can use Energy.]

[After becoming a diary holder, when a holder reaches the end of their natural lifespan, the host can use Energy to restore their youth. Energy is omnipotent.]

"So I’m basically going to become their servant?"

[Ding! After becoming a diary holder, as long as the holder does not suffer a fatal attack, they will essentially not die.]

[The system’s previous statement about lifespan ending was merely a metaphor. In reality, diary holders share life and death with the host.]

Vesey blinked.

In other words, if I die, the diary holders have to be buried with me?

That was actually kind of impressive.

But then again, even if diary holders wouldn’t die naturally, they could still die from a fatal attack.

For the sake of her own rewards, Vesey would have to do her best to keep them alive.

Annoying!

Even someone like Snape came with a psychological burden now.

What a pain.

Vesey sighed.

It seemed that when choosing diary holders, she should prioritize people who survived until the end of the original story.

Otherwise, she’d have to find a way to save their lives.

But then she thought about it again.

This was the only time she could choose a diary holder herself. After that, the system would make the choice.

If it picks Bellatrix, I might become the biggest loser in the wizarding world.

Please, System. Don’t cause trouble for me.

---

Nine O’Clock

Vesey walked out of her dormitory.

Since she had gone to bed very early the previous night, she was still quite energetic.

She felt completely refreshed.

Although the system had given her some unpleasant news, the rewards themselves were excellent.

She was still quite excited.

The diary holders, however, were the complete opposite.

Starting with Dumbledore, every one of them had heavy dark circles under their eyes, looking as though they had stayed up all night watching videos.

Even Harry, who was participating in his first Quidditch match that day, looked more energetic than they did.

After breakfast, everyone made their way toward the Quidditch pitch.

As usual, Vesey walked behind Cassandra.

Cassandra looked at her with an expression full of pity.

She was apparently still thinking about the diary entry from that morning.

She wanted to say something to Vesey, but eventually decided against it.

Vesey is so shy. If I suddenly become too enthusiastic, I’ll only frighten her.

Cassandra sighed and looked away.

Vesey didn’t notice anything unusual about her.

Instead, she was focused on the Quidditch stands.

When they reached the Slytherin stand, Vesey discovered that the seats could actually be raised.

Higher and higher they went, until the players on the pitch below looked smaller and smaller.

"Let the match begin!"

Madam Hooch shouted.

The players immediately kicked off from the ground and soared into the air.

Harry flew to a position almost level with Vesey and waved at her.

Vesey immediately smiled brightly.

"Look at my brother! Look at my brother! He’s so amazing!"

She shouted loudly.

Almost all the Slytherin boys around her showed disdain toward Harry.

What’s so handsome about him?

Harry Potter obviously isn’t as good-looking as we are. Is there something wrong with Vesey’s eyes?

They really wanted to show Vesey their well-trained physiques, noble family backgrounds, and handsome faces.

Unfortunately, Vesey only looked at Harry.

She didn’t even seem interested in looking at them.

After all, which girl would want to stare at a group of men who were older, taller, and richer than her?

Even after becoming a girl, Vesey had absolutely no interest in them.

She really wished she could stay far away from these people.

I want to hang a sign around my neck:

MEN AND DOGS, STAY AWAY FROM ME!

Unfortunately, there was nothing she could do.

Who had made her into such a pure, kind, and adorable girl?

All she could do was pretend not to notice the people around her and act as though she were oblivious to everything.

And with her personality, she could openly focus all her attention on Harry.

At least that gave her an excuse to follow Harry’s movements around the pitch.

And, incidentally, she could admire the female players’ athletic figures.

Just as she was sneaking a glance beneath the robes of Gryffindor Chaser Angelina Johnson, she suddenly heard a cry of surprise.

Vesey’s heart skipped a beat.

Sure enough, she saw Harry’s broom suddenly begin to shake violently.

"Brother!"

Vesey shouted.

She immediately ran beneath the stands with a worried expression.

"Help my brother! Something’s wrong with his broom!"

She looked terrified.

Her eyes reddened, and a faint glimmer of tears appeared in her green eyes.

"Please! Someone lend me a broom! I’m going to save my brother!"

She cried out desperately.

Her voice was so sorrowful that anyone hearing it would want to rush over and comfort her.

At least, that was exactly what Cassandra thought.
