Hogwarts: I Am an Exemplary Wizard
Chapter 1238: Romanian Longhorn
After this period, Birdman had come to an understanding.
Even if he wants to do something, the Fire Dragon Reserve must take the first step first, otherwise it’s all for nothing. The key to that first step is a large sum of Galleons.
They came with a full three thousand Galleons. If he doesn’t give any advantage at all, he would find it excessive himself.
And a legally approved Dragon Raising Certificate that takes effect in ninety-eight years… it’s almost a century. To be fair, this request is not overly excessive.
As for the promised dragon-raising expenses and dragon eggs… by that time, even if he were still alive, he’d be long retired. How the successors handle it then wouldn’t concern him.
The quick change in Birdman’s attitude left Dumbledore beside him dumbstruck.
He couldn’t understand what just happened. Clearly, he had listened to the entire conversation without missing a word, yet couldn’t figure out when their attitudes had flipped.
Why did Mr. Birdman Strick, who had just been adamant about not processing the legal dragon-breeding proof, suddenly become proactive?
In contrast, Kael was now evading the matter.
Could it be that he was too weak just now, accidentally fell asleep, and missed part of the conversation?
It shouldn’t be…
Having lost a segment of memory, Dumbledore was utterly baffled and could only say that Kael’s current actions were beyond his comprehension.
However, the other two present had no idea what Dumbledore was thinking, and even if they did, they wouldn’t care.
Kael was indifferent.
As for Birdman… Ha, he’s just an old servant, does his opinion matter?
Of course not.
And the promise Birdman made also tempted Kael.
So, the Gold Coins taken away returned to the chest, and amid the delightful sound of coins clashing, Birdman wrote Kael a legal Dragon Raising Certificate.
It was still that awkward charm. After Birdman signed his name, the Contract Magic officially took effect.
However, he was cautious and added a long list of additional conditions on the certificate. They were all meant to restrain the user from harming the Fire Dragons or using them for illegal business.
Kael didn’t stop him, after all, he never intended to do such things.
Dragon Blood and Scales are worth little.
After this return, even if he stews Dragon Blood to eat, he could eat it to the point of weariness.
When Birdman handed over a second parchment with magic contract, Kael finally showed a triumphant… pleased smile.
These two pieces of parchment could be said to be the biggest gain from this trip, apart from Arianna.
Both sides seemed to be afraid the other would regret it, so after the matter concluded, they stood up simultaneously.
“How about staying for a meal?” Birdman asked with a smile.
“No, I have some matters to attend to and must return to London as soon as possible,” Kael said.
For such a place that can only offer wild vegetable lumps to entertain a patron, Kael didn’t feel he would eat anything good if he stayed, so he’d rather return quickly.
But Birdman merely extended the invitation as a courtesy… The food at the Fire Dragon Reserve was not enough for themselves, let alone having any surplus to entertain guests.
Of course, this situation would not persist after an hour.
Choosing not to have Birdman see them off, Kael and Dumbledore returned to the previous beech tree.
Dumbledore looked at him, wanting to speak several times but not knowing how.
“It’s okay, Professor, it won’t take long for you to understand why I did this,” Kael smiled, taking out those two pieces of parchment. “Once you recover your memory.”
Dumbledore shook his head, “Perhaps I can guess a bit. These seemingly harsh conditions may indeed not be a good deal for others, but they’re just right for you.”
“Those are just attachments or preconditions,” Kael laughed, “The second magic contract is my real goal.”
He released his hand, and the two pieces of parchment fell to the ground.
“Hide them well,” Kael said softly while tossing a Gold Coin.
Under Dumbledore’s puzzled gaze, a Niffler suddenly jumped out. It first put the Gold Coin into its pocket, then grabbed the parchment and quickly disappeared into the ground’s crevice.
“What are you doing?” He was a bit confused.
“Of course, hiding things away,” Kael explained, “The contract says ninety-eight years, what if I use a Time Turner to bring it back, and the contract doesn’t acknowledge it…
“So the best way is to let it truly experience ninety-eight years, precise to the second. I’ll find a hidden spot to stash it.”
“Ah…” Dumbledore opened his mouth, surprised by Kael’s caution.
But Kael had no choice; after this return, he’d probably not be able to use that Time Turner again, and certainly had to consider all possible issues clearly.
What if after returning, the magic contract determines only one day has passed?
Anyway, with the protection of the magic contract, the parchment won’t corrode or rot with time. At worst, it’s just a bit of trouble, but far better than empty-handed.
Soon, the Niffler jumped out of the crevice again.
This fantastic beast has an interesting ability: they can squeeze through any gap. Even the metal safe boxes in Muggle banks are no different than open doors to a Niffler.
