Chapter 6: System Awakens, Mother Curses

Levi could genuinely feel the improvement in his body.

With his Blood Energy Level reaching six and his body technique reaching Major Mastery, each level provided eight kilograms of strength to his body.

This wasn’t just for the current three levels. His body would improve his strength to its limit, reaching eight kilograms of improvement for all levels.

That meant his strength had reached one hundred and twenty-eight kilograms.

This was without adding any boost from his martial arts. If he added those, he could generate the force of over two hundred kilograms with just his punch.

"Great!"

His face finally showed some excitement as he clenched both of his fists and raised his hands.

Although he tried to control himself, his eyes turned red.

"Mom, Dad, I can finally improve."

His excited voice made his mother tear up.

Sera had seen how much effort Levi had put into his training. Every day, he would train for four hours, pushing his body to the absolute limit.

Normally, this kind of exercise wouldn’t be a problem, but his blood energy was being constantly lost, so he wasn’t growing stronger.

In fact, it was a good thing that he could recover his blood energy just by eating; otherwise, he wouldn’t even be able to train hard.

"It’s okay! It’s okay!"

Sera held her son in her arms and patted him on the back.

Levi placed his eyes on her shoulders, trying to rub off those tears on her clothes.

"Alright, have you found what has been absorbing your blood energy?"

Although Sera couldn’t see the screen, she felt like Levi did notice something during his training.

She just didn’t disturb him.

"Yeah!"

Levi wiped away his tears and pointed at the screen.

"It looks like a hologram technology. It feels like some kind of system."

"System? What kind? Operating system? Virtual Battlefield System?"

Morgan asked confusedly.

Levi tilted his head for a moment, and after a long silence, he said.

"It feels like a game system. You know those options like profile icon, shop, inventory; there is even an enlightenment function."

Sera’s face scrunched up as she asked.

"So, this is some kind of gaming system that only you can see? Enlightenment? Isn’t that a bit too far-fetched?"

She asked, looking at Morgan.

Morgan nodded.

"Even I believe it is a bit unbelievable. Enlightenment is something that every martial artist strives for."

"Levi, check if you can interact with it! Don’t click on that enlightenment function! Just check your profile first!"

Levi nodded and clicked on the profile icon.

Suddenly, the text in the panel changed as new text was being generated.

Looking at his profile, Levi scratched his head.

"It is basically showing my rank, blood energy level, technique, martial arts, and their mastery. Oh, there is also another section. Let me see!"

Usage- Host can use Evil Points to buy techniques, martial arts, artifacts, and physiques, and enlightenment.]

Levi’s eyes widened in shock.

"What did you see?"

Sera panicked and asked.

Levi didn’t know how to say this to his mother.

Seeing his hesitation, Sera sternly spoke.

"Levi, what did I teach you growing up?"

Levi bit his lips and said.

"I should not lie to my parents."

"So, can you tell me what it said?"

Sera asked.

Levi took a deep breath and said.

"There is a section called EP. It means Evil Points. You can get these points by completing some kind of achievements, killing, and sexual assaults."

"Then, you can use these points to buy techniques, martial arts, artifacts, physiques, and enlightenment from this thing."

He finished everything in a single breath.

After a long silence, Sera’s blood energy exploded. Fortunately, Morgan placed his hand on her shoulder and calmed her blood energy.

"What kind of a person asks others to do bad things? This bastard! He must be one hell of a son of bitch."

"How dare he teach my son wrong things? I will kill him. I will destroy this thing."

Morgan’s lips twitched. He knew Sera was just saying things out of anger. If they could destroy this thing, they wouldn’t have waited so long.

Or rather, Sera would’ve told him a long time ago. She knew even Martial Masters wouldn’t be able to destroy it, so she hid it from him.

It was normal. If Morgan knew something like this was affecting Levi, he would’ve joined the Dimensional War to reach the Grandmaster Rank.

While it wouldn’t be easy, he would definitely try.

But Sera knew it wouldn’t be easy or even possible. That’s exactly why she didn’t tell her husband about it.

Levi was silently staring at his mother in amazement. He had never seen his mother curse someone like this before.

Sera wasn’t just cursing whoever made this thing. She was cursing this person’s whole family for raising this person to be so evil.

"Alright! Alright! We need to know more about this thing. Levi, check if there are many mandatory things that you need to do."

Morgan patted his wife on the shoulder and spoke to his son.

Levi nodded and hurriedly checked different options. Except for the profile and enlightenment functions, there were inventory, achievements, and a shop.

When he checked the shop, his eyes widened.

"Mom! Ninth Grade! No, even beyond the Ninth Grade! There are not only techniques and martial arts but also various pills above the Ninth Grade."

"There are also various runes and weapons."

When he said that, Sera’s expression became serious, and so did Morgan’s.

Ninth Grade!

This was the highest grade on their planet. While it wasn’t the highest in the universe, it was definitely something they couldn’t find.

The grades started from First and ended with Ninth.

They never thought that this thing, which was teaching their son to do bad things, contained such a level of treasures.

"Could it be a lie?"

Sera muttered.

Levi quickly closed the shop window and opened the achievements. He found there was a small icon on the achievement section that showed (1).

When he clicked on the achievement, two achievements that he had completed were immediately displayed.

"Mom, there is a reward for becoming a Martial Apprentice, I guess. It says Martial Practitioner, and the reward is 5EP."

"Do you think I should buy something from the shop to prove its validity?"

Levi asked.

Sera and Morgan looked at each other and said.

"Check the Enlightenment Function first!"

He was a bit startled by their combined voice.

Although Sera was purely disgusted by this system and even Morgan looked a bit angry, they still wanted him to find out more about enlightenment.

He clicked on the enlightenment option while also noticing a mail icon at the very top.

He hadn’t noticed it before.

But for now, he curiously opened the enlightenment icon and found his chibi figure sitting in the middle with an enlightenment option below.

Then, he saw a tab on the top-right corner of the screen. He clicked it and saw several times.

[1 Minute, 2 Minutes, 5 Minutes, 10 Minutes, 30 Minutes, 1 Hour...]

He had to scroll to find more options. He clicked on two minutes and immediately noticed a change.

The green enlightenment option had turned grey.

"Mom, it seems 5EP allows me to get enlightenment for a minute. Should I use it?"

Levi asked.

Sera nodded.

"It is clear that this thing is evil, but if it can allow enlightenment and give you other things, we can make minor changes, right, Honey?"

Hearing that, Levi’s lips twitched.

At that moment, he realized how important enlightenment was to martial artists.

Even his mother, who was cursing that unknown person, changed her mind.

Seeing the look on his eyes, Morgan calmly explained.

"Son, you don’t understand its importance now. But once you reach a higher rank, you will understand it."

"Isn’t it because higher-level martial arts or techniques are harder to master?"

Levi asked.

Morgan nodded.

"That is the case, but more importantly, it’s about combat strength. Every Martial Art can increase your strength by some level."

"But the lower the martial art is, the less improvement you get until it just stops giving you any boost."

"Technique is even more important since they permanently increase our strength. So, enlightenment is the only way to overcome hard work and talent."

"But it is unattainable; its importance is higher than talent and hard work. So, do you understand why your mother reluctantly chose to believe it?"
