I am the Clone of a Death Row Inmate
Chapter 788: Returning to Blue Star
Su Ze nodded; he understood. Both items were essentially underdeveloped. To combine two such things and create a species on par with a second or third-rate race was already quite powerful. This was only possible thanks to the excellent foundations of the Witch Egg and the Mutant Seed.
However, this clearly fell short of Su Ze’s expectations. Cultivating a species with the potential of a second or third-rate race, especially having to raise it from infancy, seemed less convenient than simply capturing and parasitizing a Sun God from an existing second-rate race.
“So, what did you want to discuss with me?” Su Ze asked calmly.
He knew that for the three of them to approach him together, they must have already figured out a solution.
The Pope stepped forward and said, “The Witch Egg and the Mutant Seed are both lacking energy, and they are both perfectly suited to absorb the energy of the Super Star. If… if we could give them an unrestricted supply of the Super Star’s energy, their combined potential would increase by several tiers! It could truly rival a Dominator Race, perhaps even surpass a typical one!”
After he finished speaking, all three of them stared at Su Ze with pleading eyes.
They knew how important the Super Star was. They also knew that the rational choice would be to prioritize its preservation and abandon any further cultivation of the Witch Egg and the Mutant Seed.
But to satisfy their own scientific curiosity, they hoped Su Ze would agree to let them go all-in and create the most powerful hybrid possible.
Su Ze frowned. The Mutant Seed might be one thing, but the Witch Egg’s absorption capacity was no small matter. It would directly cause the Super Star to enter premature decay, drastically shortening its lifespan.
“How much energy would it take?” Su Ze asked. “And how many years would the Super Star have left afterward?”
The Pope replied, “Based on our calculations, it would need to absorb over half of the Super Star’s total energy. A Super Star’s lifespan is typically around one trillion years. Ours has already shown signs of premature decay, so we estimate it has about eight hundred billion years left. After the transfer, it would likely have around two hundred billion years remaining.”
‘That long?’
Su Ze was stunned for a moment, then nodded decisively. “Let’s do it!”
‘Two hundred billion years?’
‘You’ve got to be kidding me!’
‘What was there to even think about? Two hundred billion years from now, he’d either be dead or he’d have grown into a powerhouse on the level of Mr. Ao—perhaps even stronger.’
‘If it was the former, he’d be dead, so what would any of it matter to him?’
‘If it was the latter, he’d be so powerful by then that he probably wouldn’t need the Super Star anyway. And finding a new one wouldn’t be that hard.’
Seeing Su Ze agree so readily, Mage and the other two were ecstatic. They bid a hasty farewell and rushed off to continue their research.
Su Ze, in turn, began to make genuine preparations for an early trip to Blue Star.
He didn’t plan on taking anyone with him this time. He would go alone.
If he encountered any danger, it would be easier to escape by himself. He could just use the Replacement Skill and return in an instant.
But if he brought others along, they would become a liability.
Su Ze was torn. Should he fly there in a spaceship, or use his Replacement Skill to return to Blue Star in an instant?
On Blue Star, there was still Pulamon, the one he had parasitized. Su Ze could swap places with Pulamon and return to Blue Star in a flash.
However, that option came with certain risks.
He only knew Pulamon was still alive, not his current situation.
For all he knew, Pulamon might have already been captured by the Nian Race. If he swapped with him, he could be walking right into a trap.
Even if Pulamon was fine, using the Replacement Skill to get there would put it on a ten-day cooldown, leaving him unable to use it again during that time.
If he ran into trouble during that window, he wouldn’t be able to use the skill to escape.
After a moment of consideration, Su Ze decided to take the spaceship.
Although it would take longer, it was the safer option. Using a life-saving skill on travel just to save a month or so of time was far too reckless.
Besides, this way Su Ze could stop at the Public Planets along his route to purchase skill expansion materials. The amount of materials he needed to upgrade and expand his skills was staggering, so he had to seize every opportunity to gather them.
Before he left, Su Ze gathered his senior leadership and assigned everyone a task.
His main directive was for them to expand the city in preparation for the arrival of their compatriots from Blue Star.
Everyone was elated to hear that Su Ze was returning to Blue Star. They had all been looking forward to this day, but they never imagined it would come so soon.
It had only been a few years since they left Blue Star, and Su Ze was already going back to fight?
Li Fayi hesitated for a moment before trying to reason with him. “Su Ze, perhaps you should wait a little longer?”
He certainly hoped Su Ze could rescue the Human Race on Blue Star soon, but logic told him that Su Ze’s safety was more important than that of the people back home.
He didn’t want Su Ze to take such a risk.
“Don’t worry. I wouldn’t do this if I wasn’t confident,” Su Ze said with a reassuring smile.
He rejected the requests of Lin Hua and others to accompany him, departing from Zexing alone aboard the Magic Cube.
Along the way, he unfurled a Star Map and planned his route. He would make a stop at every Public Planet on his path.
Once the route was set, Su Ze put the Magic Cube on autopilot, instructing it to proceed at full speed and enter a state of faster-than-light travel through Space Jumps.
He, meanwhile, focused his full attention on practicing his Dream Creation skill.
After long practice, his skill at weaving dreams had improved immensely, to the point where he could occasionally break down the barrier between reality and the dream world.
Once he fully mastered the skill, even if he couldn’t create entire spaces within dreams, he could still unleash considerably powerful effects.
Every time they approached one of the Public Planets on his route, the Magic Cube would alert him in advance. Su Ze would then disembark as quickly as possible, do a quick sweep of the planet, grab any suitable materials he sensed, and depart just as quickly if he found nothing.
However, all this shopping affected his travel time. A journey that should have taken less than a month was stretched to a month and a half.
With Blue Star finally in sight, a peculiar emotion welled up in Su Ze’s heart.
He had only lived on this planet for a little over a year—less time than he had spent on Zexing—but it was the starting point of this lifetime.
This planet held so many people and things familiar to him, and because of that, it held a special place in his heart.
“Descend!”
Su Ze put the Magic Cube into stealth mode and began to slowly descend toward Blue Star.
