Roxanna laughed when she saw how excited Calen was. "Yes, I can see that. Do you like yellow?"

Calen actually stopped to think about it. As he considered the question, his dog-like tail slowly stopped wagging so fast.

"I’m not sure..." he admitted. "But I do like bright things."

Roxanna’s smile softened as she suddenly remembered that Calen had spent a long time trapped inside a cage, surrounded by darkness.

Back then, sunlight was something he rarely got to see, let alone enjoy. Perhaps that was why he was always so drawn to anything bright and colorful now.

It made sense. After living in the dark for so long, who wouldn’t want to surround themselves with light?

Calen did not even need time to think about it this time. His tail immediately started wagging again. "Yes! Yes! I’d love that!"

Seeing his excitement made Roxanna laugh again. "Alright. We’ll choose them together later."

After making that promise, Roxanna and Calen continued walking around the Vixeria Settlement. Roxanna wanted to make sure that everyone was doing well, but from what she could see, she had nothing to worry about.

The entire settlement was filled with activity. Some people were painting their huts, while others were still mixing colors or helping their neighbors. Laughter and excited voices could be heard everywhere.

"Carla!" Roxanna called out when she spotted a familiar figure in the distance, then she raised her hand and waved.

Carla was standing with the other former members of the Sky Tribe, directing them as they cut and prepared wood for their new huts. When she heard Roxanna calling her name, Carla turned around and quickly waved back with a smile.

Seeing that everything was going smoothly, Roxanna did not bother her for long. After all, Carla clearly knew what she was doing, and the others were listening to her without any problems.

"Wife," Calen suddenly called as they continued walking side by side. "Do you think Azul will bring a lot of things back from the ocean?"

Roxanna turned toward him. "He’ll definitely bring back a lot of shells and pearls," she said with a small laugh. "Maybe even more things we’ve never seen before."

Calen’s eyes brightened. "Then we should save some space for him to put his belongings."

"Of course." Roxanna smiled and reached for his hand.

Calen immediately intertwined their fingers, looking so pleased by the simple gesture that his tail began wagging again.

They walked hand in hand all the way back to their hut. Unfortunately, Roxanna was not allowed to help with anything once they arrived.

Zeir took one look at her and immediately told her to sit under the tree with Calen and rest.

Apparently, her husbands had already agreed that Roxanna had done enough for the day, and none of them wanted her running around until she exhausted herself.

But to be honest, she barely did anything today.

Even so, Roxanna still tried sitting quietly for a while, but after some time, she started getting bored.

In the end, Roxanna pulled Calen along with her and decided they might as well take a nap in one of their extra huts near the farmland.

"Are we really allowed to do this?" Roxanna asked once they were inside.

The two of them were lying beside each other on a thick pile of animal pelts spread across the floor like a soft carpet. Roxanna turned onto her side until she was facing Calen.

Calen immediately copied her position. "Why not?" he asked. "Zeir told us to rest. Whether we rest under the tree or inside this hut, what difference does it make?"

Roxanna stared at him for a moment before shrugging. "If you put it that way, I guess we’re not doing anything wrong."

"Exactly."

After that, neither of them spoke.

The hut became quiet, with only the distant sounds of people working outside reaching them from time to time.

Someone was chopping wood somewhere near the farmland, and every now and then, Roxanna could hear people calling out to each other.

But inside the hut, everything felt peaceful.

[Now that I think about it, I rarely get to spend time alone with Calen.]

In the Aquilian Kingdom, Zeir and Azul had usually been around them. After returning to the Vixeria Settlement, Roxanna had been busy with so many things, and without realizing it, she had ended up spending more time with Luan and Cyrus.

Then another thought entered her mind. [Wait. If I think about it that way, I haven’t been paying much attention to Zeir lately either.]

Roxanna sighed softly. [Why is it so hard to be fair to all of my husbands? No matter how hard I try, I can never divide my time equally between everyone.]

Sometimes one of them needed her more. Sometimes she became busy with something else and naturally spent more time with whoever happened to be beside her.

Even though none of her husbands had complained about it, Roxanna still felt a little guilty.

"Well, you’re here with me now," Calen suddenly spoke up. "You don’t have to think too hard about that anymore."

Roxanna might not be able to read her husbands’ minds, but she did not need to. From the way Calen was looking at her, it was obvious that he wanted more of her attention.

Even his dog ears had drooped slightly, making him look exactly like a sad dog whose master had left him alone for far too long.

The sight made Roxanna’s heart soften.

"How about I’m all yours for the rest of the day?" Roxanna asked with a smile.

Calen’s ears immediately perked up when he heard that.

"The others are busy right now, and they probably won’t finish until nightfall anyway," Roxanna continued. She lowered her voice slightly, as if they were planning something they were not supposed to do. "So, I say... we can stay here for a while. If anyone comes looking for us, we can just pretend to be asleep."
