I Became the Villainess, But My Beast Husbands Can Hear My Mind?!
Chapter 388: A Perfect Place
Roxanna immediately felt her cheeks grow warm. "Yes, I know. I’m the one carrying the baby."
Luan said, "I’m going to be a father!"
"You’re already a father."
"I’m going to be a father again."
Roxanna stared at him for a moment before bursting into laughter. There was really no point in arguing with him when he looked this happy.
Behind them, Calen suddenly let out another miserable whine.
The sound immediately reminded Roxanna that there was still one very unhappy husband standing nearby.
Luan glanced toward him, and his smile became even wider. "Why does he look like that?"
"Don’t ask," Roxanna quickly replied.
"He got upset because Roxanna pregnant with your child," Zeir answered from the terrace anyway.
Calen’s ears immediately lowered. "I’m not upset that she’s carrying Luan’s cub. I’m happy for them."
His words sounded sincere, but the way he stared at Roxanna’s stomach with such a pitiful expression made it obvious that there was more to it.
Luan looked at Calen for a few seconds before slowly nodding in understanding. "Ah."
That single sound somehow made Calen look even more miserable.
"Don’t look at me like that!" Calen complained. "You already put a cub inside our wife. Of course you wouldn’t understand how I feel!"
Luan scoffed at him. "What? What do you mean by that? I went through the same thing when Azul received his blessing!"
The difference was that none of Roxanna’s husbands seemed interested in throwing Luan into a well like they had done to Azul back then.
Perhaps they had all become more mature since then or perhaps they were simply a little afraid of Luan.
Roxanna actually believed the second one.
"Alright, alright, there’s no need to act like that," Cyrus finally said to Calen. "Just like we agreed back then, any child born from our wife will still be our child, no matter who the father is."
Calen’s ears twitched slightly at those words. He still looked a little disappointed, but at least he was no longer acting as if the world had ended.
"I know," he mumbled. "I’ll love Luan’s cub too."
Luan immediately frowned. "Why do you make it sound like you’re doing me a favor?"
"I’m not talking to you. I’m talking about our wife’s cub!" Calen shouted.
"It’s also my cub."
"And our cub."
Roxanna looked between them and sighed. She had a feeling that if she allowed them to continue, they would spend the entire evening arguing over the meaning of the word our.
Fortunately, Cyrus seemed to have the same thought. "Enough. We can argue about whose cub belongs to whom after we eat," Cyrus said as he stood up from the terrace. "The food is already getting cold. I’ll warm it up again."
At the mention of food, Roxanna finally realized how hungry she was.
Her stomach had been too busy dealing with everything else for her to notice it earlier, but now that Cyrus had mentioned dinner, she could already imagine herself eating until her stomach was completely full.
Cyrus glanced at her before a knowing smile appeared on his face. "You must be hungry," he said. "Especially after mating with a whining dog for so long."
Roxanna froze in place. Even though she was sure her husbands already knew what she and Calen had been doing earlier, it still felt strange whenever they openly talked about it.
Meanwhile, Calen’s head immediately snapped toward Cyrus. "Who are you calling a whining dog?!"
Cyrus casually answered, "You."
"I don’t whine that much!"
Before Calen could complain any further, Cyrus had already taken Roxanna by the hand and led her into the hut.
Roxanna was caught off guard for a moment when she stepped inside because the inside of the hut had changed too.
Just like the outside, the wooden walls had been painted, making the entire space look brighter and warmer than before.
Her husbands had also decorated the walls with flowers and thin branches covered in green vines. Some of the branches had been hung along the walls using long roots twisted together like ropes, giving the hut a natural but surprisingly beautiful look.
Small flowers were tucked between the vines here and there, adding little splashes of pink throughout the room.
Roxanna slowly looked around, taking everything in. [They decorated the inside too?]
She had expected them to paint the walls, but she certainly had not expected them to put this much effort into decorating everything.
"Do you want to see the second floor?" Luan suddenly asked her. "We decorated it too."
Roxanna’s eyes immediately widened. They had planned to use the second floor as their children’s room, and now that another child would soon be joining their family, she was even more curious to see what her husbands had done with it.
"Yes! I want to see it!" Roxanna replied excitedly.
Luan finally led her toward the second floor while Cyrus stayed behind to warm up their meal.
The moment they reached the top, Roxanna immediately looked around with bright eyes.
The second floor was not as crowded with decorations as the first floor, but it was clear that her husbands had put just as much effort into it. The walls had been painted a soft, warm color, while little flowers and colorful stones decorated different corners of the room.
There were also several small wooden shelves along the walls, probably meant to hold the children’s belongings later.
"You made shelves! I didn’t even know you were making these," Roxanna said as she walked toward one of them.
"We only made them today, but Zeir did most of the work," Luan explained. "He’s also a good carpenter. He’s really good with small details."
Roxanna could see that for herself. She ran her fingers along the edge of the shelf and immediately noticed how smooth the wood felt beneath her fingertips.
There were no rough edges or sharp pieces sticking out anywhere. Even the corners had been carefully rounded, probably because Zeir knew that children would eventually be running around up here.
"What do you think?" Luan asked with a bit of hesitation. "Do you think this place is good enough for our children?"
Roxanna turned toward him with a smile. "This is perfect." She walked toward Luan, wrapped her arms around his neck, and stood on her tiptoes to give him a gentle kiss. "This place is perfect for our family."
