Chapter 88: Chapter 84: Yin Demon Prison

"Don’t hit me... don’t hit me..." the Monk panicked. "Listen to me... give me a minute..."

Seeing Su Tan’s fist about to smash down again, he continued at breakneck speed, "What I want to say is that the prison is loose now. The cell doors haven’t been dealt with for months. If they aren’t reinforced, the entire Void God Realm... oh, no, not just the Void God Realm—the whole world will plunge into the darkest era of turmoil. Humanity... Demon Beasts, and even all civilizations will be annihilated..."

He fired off the words at nearly ten a second.

"Your current situation is of utmost importance. It’s not about one person’s life or death, but the safety of the entire world. The fate of the world is in your hands."

"Prison? Era of turmoil? Civilizations annihilated? The safety of humanity?"

Su Tan and the Little White Wolf paused.

"Yes, it’s crucial!" the Monk said solemnly. "We must cooperate. If we don’t, the world is doomed. Think carefully; everyone’s life and death depend on your single thought."

Su Tan pondered for a moment.

"What in the world are you talking about, and what does it have to do with me? How did I suddenly become the key to the world’s survival or destruction?" Su Tan asked.

He didn’t believe a word the Monk said, mainly because this guy had screwed him over quite miserably before. He was full of hot air and used to spewing nothing but lies. Every word he said sounded fake to Su Tan.

"Do you think I’ll believe you just because you made up some nonsense about the world ending and me being the only one who can save it, trying to play me up as a savior or a hero? Do you think there’s something wrong with my brain, or is it yours?" Su Tan sneered.

How was Su Tan supposed to trust him? The last time they met, he was an enemy trying to hunt Su Tan down to the bitter end. Could he be trusted? Even now, there was no proof guaranteeing the Monk didn’t harbor any malicious intent toward them. Believe an enemy based on a few words? Even the most naive fool wouldn’t do that. If he trusted him so easily only to be deceived again, leading to an ambush by thousands of people, wouldn’t he just end up getting kicked around like a sandbag?

In Su Tan’s mind, to hell with this doomsday nonsense. He was more willing to believe that this guy had been beaten so badly that he deliberately made up a lie to escape, or was using a self-injury ruse to trick Su Tan into walking into a trap he had laid out. Luring the prey into the snare—given the Monk’s style of doing things, he was definitely capable of pulling such a stunt.

"It’s true, it’s true! I’m not lying to you, you have to believe me!" the Monk yelled.

"Do you believe him?" Su Tan asked.

"No... definitely not. The world is perfectly fine, where would an apocalypse come from?" the Little White Wolf said leisurely.

"I don’t believe it either!"

This Monk simply didn’t seem like a good person.

THUMP THUMP THUMP!

Su Tan and the Little White Wolf gave him another fierce beating.

"I’m really not lying!" the Monk wailed. "Didn’t you snatch a key from me last time? Haven’t you ever wondered why I can use various Divine Powers in the Void God Realm? Aren’t you confused about how I can instantly sense your spawn location every time you log in?

"It’s because I’m a creature of the Void God Realm. The Void God Realm isn’t actually a Virtual World; it’s a semi-real world, a prison meant to detain the Yin Demon Race!

"The Yin Demon Race has developed in this prison world for millions of years. They’ve formed an incredibly powerful force with billions in their population. King Level creatures are as common as the hair on an ox, and Saints are as cheap as cabbage... there might even be Yin Demons about to become emperors! If such a force were unleashed upon the real world today, reality would instantly collapse. No one could stop them, and the civilization of this era would be ruined.

"Let’s cooperate, or just give the key back to me! I need to reinforce the prison walls, otherwise the consequences will be unimaginable!"

It was a good story, and it sounded quite serious. But how could Su Tan and the Little White Wolf trust him?

They kept hammering him regardless! Once bitten by a snake, ten years fearing a rope. Surprisingly, this guy refused to change his story. No matter how much they beat him, he stuck to his claims!

"He sure is stubborn!"

After beating him for a long time without him yielding, Su Tan and the Little White Wolf began to harbor some doubts. He was acting like it was the real deal. Besides, everything the Monk mentioned seemed to add up.

"You say the Void God Realm is a prison, and its primary function isn’t for people to communicate, but to lock up the Yin Demon Race. But... everyone knows that the Void God Realm only has nine layers in total. No matter which layer, there are no Yin Demons like the ones you speak of!"

"That’s just because the people of the world are short-sighted. The secrets of the Void God Realm... go far beyond that," the Monk said. "Believe me. If you don’t, I will personally take you to the control room. The control room can manage not only the nine layers of the Void God Realm but also the Yin Demon Prison!"

Should he go? Could it be a conspiracy?

"Just come and see for yourself. Once you see it, you’ll know I’m not lying. Besides, you can’t truly die in the Void God Realm, so what are you afraid of? I beg you, come with me! For the sake of all living beings!" the Monk pleaded bitterly.

It seemed... he was telling the truth? Su Tan hesitated for a long time. Maybe... he should go along with him? Just as the Monk said, you couldn’t actually die in the Void God Realm anyway.

"If you’re lying to me this time, from now on, whenever I log into the Void God Realm, I won’t do anything else but track you down to practice my boxing—the kind where I practice for ten hours straight!" Su Tan threatened.

"Understood... understood..." the Monk shuddered.

He didn’t doubt Su Tan’s words for a second. This man and this wolf were absolute monsters! Ruthless and men of few words. Truly ruthless. They wouldn’t bother arguing with him. During their many logins, they hadn’t said a single word, simply logging out to avoid him. Later, when they couldn’t avoid him anymore and logged back in, they still hardly spoke; they just pinned him to the ground and hammered him. They gave their opponent zero chances.

"Hmph!" Su Tan let go of the Monk.

Finally free from Su Tan’s oppression, the Monk felt immense relief. He straightened his clothes.

"Follow me!"

Su Tan and the Little White Wolf followed closely behind the Monk. Along the way, they didn’t forget to maintain a defensive posture. If they noticed anything amiss, they could instantly counterattack or flee.

They arrived at a secluded location. The Monk glanced around to ensure there was no one else before carefully taking out a Token engraved with the character for "Door". Holding the Token, he swiped it through the air.

"Door, open!"

As the Token sliced through the empty space, a rift shockingly tore open in the void. The rift expanded, forming a door.

"Please come with me!" The Monk took the first step, entering the Space Gate.

This guy’s methods were heaven-defying. To think he could actually cut open the space of the Void God Realm. Was he really a creature native to it? And he must be quite an important figure as well.

After hesitating for a moment, Su Tan and the Little White Wolf stepped into the black hole-like gate.

SWISH!

After they entered, the Space Gate closed behind them. Subsequently, Su Tan and the Little White Wolf appeared on a platform.

It was a circular, stone platform, resembling a massive mountain that had been cleanly sliced in half to leave a flat surface. Beyond the platform, nothing could be seen clearly. Everything was shrouded in black smoke, like the Underworld. At the very end stood another set of large doors. They were immensely tall and forged from an unknown material—neither gold nor iron, neither stone nor jade. They were wreathed in black gas and carved with eerie, terrifying patterns.

"To think that after just one day... the Yin Demon Qi has increased so much again. Could it be... those beasts are really trying to escape?" the Monk muttered to himself. His expression was filled with worry and solemnity. "But fortunately, the key has finally been recovered. Once I enter the control room and reinforce the prison walls, those beasts won’t be able to get away!"

Since entering this place, neither Su Tan nor the Little White Wolf had spoken a word.

Although his eyes couldn’t see, that bone-chilling aura made Su Tan very uncomfortable. It felt as if, in the dead of night, countless malicious ghosts were glaring at him from behind with terrifying eyes. It sent prickles down his spine! It was utterly terrifying!
