I Can Level Up Infinitely

Chapter 168: Jenny Wakes Up

Chapter 168: Jenny Wakes Up

After three hours, Leon’s exam finally came to an end.

The bell rang, and Miss Cicimore began collecting the answer sheets. As she made her way from desk to desk, she paused briefly when she reached Leon’s paper.

"How was your exam, Leon? Will you pass?"

"Definitely, Miss."

"Good. Work hard for the rest of the exams as well."

"Sure."

The teacher left after that.

’I got lucky it was math today.’ Leon thought inwardly. Hunter or not, he still needed the minimum academic grades to qualify for the military training camp entrance test.

Henry nudged him from the side. "How’s your sister?"

Two days earlier, he had witnessed Leon slaughter the people who had tried to harm Jenny. He didn’t know why Leon had suddenly collapsed afterward, though.

It was Henry who had called the ambulance and notified the Hunter Association.

Later, one of the Association’s healers had assured him that Leon had merely passed out from exhaustion. Jenny and Cecilia would both recover as well. None of them had been in life-threatening danger.

Only then had Henry finally been able to relax.

Leon’s face became slightly gloomy at the question. "She’s doing alright. She still hasn’t woken up, but she’s no longer in any danger."

"Yeah, the Association’s healer told me the same thing. I finally stopped worrying after I heard you two were going to be okay."

Leon placed a hand on Henry’s shoulder.

"Thanks bro... for helping us."

Henry narrowed his eyes. "You’re not going to kiss me now, are you?" He asked with mock seriousness.

"Kiss you my a**," Leon replied with mock anger before smacking him on the head.

Noticing Leon’s dark expression, he tried to lighten the mood and succeeded. After that, they both walked out of the classroom.

But the moment Leon stepped into the corridor, he spotted Cecilia. She was walking out of her classroom as well.

"Wait for me outside. I’ll be right back," Leon said to Henry before walking toward Cecilia.

"Hi," Leon greeted as he stopped in front of her.

Cecilia halted and smiled.

"Hey. Are you alright? And how’s your sister? Is Jenny okay?"

"She is. What about you?" Leon asked. "That day, you took a direct hit for her. I can’t express how grateful I am."

The Disaster Class knight had hit her mercilessly. Leon was honestly surprised she was already on her feet. Other than the bandage wrapped around her head, she looked almost completely recovered.

"I’m totally fine." Cecilia shook her head with a smile. "And there’s nothing to be so formal about. Jenny is your sister, which means she’s mine too. It’s only natural to look out for each other."

Leon remained silent for a few moments before asking, "By the way... how did you get there? Henry and I left as soon as classes ended, but you were already there by the time we arrived. Did you skip class or something?"

"Y-Yeah." Cecilia hesitated for a brief moment before answering. "I wasn’t feeling well, so I decided to leave early."

Leon noticed that slight hesitation immediately. He had known Cecilia for a long time. After all, she had once been the girl he liked.

From what he knew of her personality, she wasn’t someone who would risk her life for another person without a reason. Yet she had still thrown herself in front of that attack to protect Jenny.

For that, Leon was genuinely grateful.

Even so...

Something about the situation didn’t feel right.

"I see." Leon nodded. "If you ever need my help, just let me know. I owe you one."

He meant it genuinely. Whether Cecilia had another motive or not, Leon wasn’t the kind of person who would ignore an act of kindness.

Cecilia’s lips curled into a playful smile. "Are you sure? What if I ask you to give us another chance? Can I use that favor for this?"

Leon smiled helplessly. "A favor and feelings are two different things, Cecilia. I’m grateful that you tried to save Jenny, and I’m willing to repay that kindness someday. But feelings aren’t something that can be exchanged for a favor, are they?"

Cecilia’s mood dampened. "Alright." She forced a smile. "Then I’ll remember that you owe me a favor."

"Good. See you later."

Leon waved lightly before turning around and walking away.

It wasn’t that he was being cold. It’s just that he understood one thing clearly. If he hadn’t gained the power he possessed now, Cecilia’s attitude toward him would have definitely remained unchanged.

Cecilia stood there silently, watching Leon’s departing figure until he disappeared from sight. No one could tell what was going through her mind.

Leon and Henry left together before eventually parting ways at a crossroads.

The days passed quickly.

Leon completed three more exams without any problems.

A week later, he was sitting beside Jenny’s hospital bed when, at long last, she slowly opened her eyes.

An overwhelming wave of relief washed over Leon. Tears streamed down his face as a smile spread across his lips.

"You finally decided to wake up, huh?"

"Brother..." Jenny murmured weakly. "Where am I?" Her eyes were only half open, her body still frail from her long sleep.

"You’re in the hospital," Leon replied gently, wiping away the tears from his cheeks. "But don’t worry. You’re completely fine now."

Standing behind Leon, Lamia looked even happier than he did. ’Finally... I won’t have to stay away from Master anymore.’ She thought happily.

Frenrir and Noira were there as well, quietly watching the siblings reunite.

Leon carefully helped Jenny sit up against the bed.

Meanwhile, Frenrir stepped outside to call the doctor.

A few moments later, the doctor arrived and performed a thorough examination. After checking her pulse and running a few basic tests, he smiled reassuringly.

"Just as I had said. Everything is normal. Her vitals are all okay, and she can be discharged whenever you’re ready."

After the doctor left, Leon looked at Jenny thoughtfully.

"Jenny, I know this isn’t the best time to ask..." he said softly. "But what were you doing there? And who were those people trying to kidnap you?"
