I Contracted All Ancient Divine Artifacts
Chapter 997: No Friendship Without Fighting
Chapter 997: Chapter 357: No Friendship Without Fighting
Ancient Ruins are special zones that appeared after Spiritual Energy Resurrection.
At their entrances, there are often powerful Exotic Beasts standing guard.
According to the Salvation Society’s speculation, this might be because the white Spiritual Mist inside these ruins is even denser.
As the largest Ancient Ruins discovered so far, located on the Central Continent, this is a place that few people have been able to set foot in since Spiritual Energy Resurrection.
Here, Exotic Beasts are everywhere and extremely powerful, not something ordinary people can lay a finger on.
“The Salvation Society’s operation this time is too big, many people are already watching from the shadows, waiting for a chance to move.”
Yax glanced at the dense thicket beside them and reminded everyone.
The City of Dawn is the largest city after Spiritual Energy Resurrection, and the Salvation Society is the most powerful faction, but not everyone chooses to join them.
There are also other survivors and organizations out there, and some of them are quite exceptional.
“No matter.”
“Once we truly step into the Ruins area, all those hiding, hoping to play the mantis and become the oriole, will have nowhere left to hide.”
Father Adam said calmly.
“Compared to those opportunistic scavengers, it’s the unknown, powerful Exotic Beasts that we really need to be wary of.”
“I can sense many auras that are not weaker than mine.”
Adam’s words made the other geniuses of the Salvation Society fall silent.
Adam’s strength was beyond doubt.
Exotic Beasts not weaker than him, plus all kinds of unknown methods, made this exploration of the Ancient Ruins far more uncertain.
At this moment, Han Zhan slowly stepped forward.
He closed his eyes involuntarily, as if feeling something.
Then he suddenly opened them wide.
“This place gives me a familiar feeling.”
“The battle lust inside me is almost impossible to suppress.”
“Let’s go, we’re going in!”
After saying that, Han Zhan took the lead and charged into the unknown zone shrouded in Spiritual Mist—the Ancient Ruins.
The other core members of the Salvation Society followed close behind, filing in one after another.
When Han Zhan passed through the Spiritual Mist and truly entered the interior of the Ancient Ruins, his steps halted, and his eyes were filled with bewilderment and shock.
Not just Han Zhan.
Every core member of the Salvation Society who entered this place opened their mouths wide enough to fit an entire egg.
“This is too spectacular.”
Even having already witnessed the uncanny craftsmanship of the City of Dawn, Yax still couldn’t help but speak in the face of the scene before them.
Adam carried a giant Cross on his back like a devout Ascetic; he gripped the golden cross necklace at his throat with one hand, closed his eyes, as if silently praying.
“Where exactly is this?”
“Why does it feel like we’ve stepped into a completely unfamiliar world?”
Listening to the exclamations and confusion in his ears, Han Zhan, coming back to his senses, finally spoke:
“This is the Barbaric Wilderness.”
The Barbaric Wilderness?
They looked at the endless expanse of sand and dust stretching for thousands of miles,
at a dragon-shaped creature of unknown length spanning across the sky,
at a giant gray bird whose mere wingbeat kicked up a dust storm in front of it.
A giant Beast a hundred zhang tall with a single horn on its head, its ghostly blue horn wreathed in electric arcs, linking heaven and earth; with each breath, acres of thunderlight descended, as if turning the area around it into a Thunder Pool…
Mountain and Sea Strange Beasts, countless beyond measure.
Compared to them, the Exotic Beasts outside were no different from infants.
Were these Exotic Beasts really something they, as they were now, could defeat?
At first sight of them, many couldn’t help but have such thoughts erupt in their hearts.
“What is the Barbaric Wilderness?” Adam asked in confusion.
People from the Western Continent not knowing about the Barbaric Wilderness was perfectly normal.
“Why are you so sure this is the Barbaric Wilderness?”
“Because I can feel—the call of this heaven and earth!”
Han Zhan answered as he strode forward.
He spread his arms wide.
With every breath, a familiar aura of heaven and earth flowed in and out.
Every cell in his body was cheering, as if celebrating their return to their true homeland.
A faint Evil Energy drifted off Han Zhan’s body, slowly outlining the phantom of a Blood Beast.
In that instant, those Barbaric Wilderness Exotic Beasts in the far distance all turned their gazes this way, as if sensing something.
“Roar!”
A high, piercing dragon’s cry rang out; the Yinglong in the sky coiled its body and spat a Thunder Ball wreathed in Deep Blue lightning arcs toward them.
Rumble, rumble!
The ground shuddered along with it.
A giant bear covered in black fur lay prone on the earth, then suddenly charged madly in this direction.
More and more Barbaric Wilderness Exotic Beasts discovered the Salvation Society crowd at the entrance.
Seeing this, Yax swallowed hard, suddenly recalling what Han Zhan had said before:
“Wait, weren’t we going to advance slowly and methodically, step by step?”
“There’s no way to be steady now—kill!”
Spurred on by the actions of these Barbaric Wilderness Exotic Beasts, Han Zhan’s murderous intent flared; with a low shout, he was the first to charge headlong into the mass of monsters.
Just as Adam had predicted beforehand, it went exactly as expected.
“We should go up too.”
As his words fell, the Cross on his back suddenly vanished; the next second, a giant Cross as tall as a mountain crashed down from the sky, smashing into the ranks of the Barbaric Wilderness Exotic Beasts!
Yax drove his Giant Sword into the earth, golden light illuminating his face.
The young woman wearing a ring of grass on her head raised her hand slightly; thick, abundant Earth Element began to wrap around the Salvation Society members, forming suits of armor that protected their bodies.
“Tsk.”
Right then, a lazy, slightly mocking royal-sister voice sounded nearby.
Another figure appeared at the entrance to the Ancient Ruins.
It was a young woman in a pale cyan thin shirt.
No one knew when she had come to stand by the Salvation Society crowd—yet no one had noticed in advance.
“I knew following the people from the Salvation Society would be the right move.”
“If it weren’t for you, who could have found the entrance to these Ancient Ruins, and even successfully entered?”
She spoke as she walked toward them.
But she suddenly stopped at a certain point and did not take another step forward.
“Hehe, you’re waiting for me to come just a little closer, aren’t you?”
As she spoke, she looked at the Giant Sword Knight Yax, who was gripping his hilt, staring at her with total focus.
“I’ve heard of you—the Giant Sword Knight with the strongest sense of justice. Your Order Ability can form a Barrier-like field around you, forcing all creatures within it to abide by your order, right?”
“It’s just a pity that the Order Barrier has a limited range.”
As soon as her words fell, she gently blew out a breath; a thin, pale-golden membrane shimmered into view before them.
And she was now only a fist’s distance away from that membrane.
This was blatant provocation!
Suddenly, a streak of sable light struck at her from a fiendishly tricky angle from the side.
The next second, the woman who had been standing there with a faint smile scattered like drifting smoke.
“I’m done playing with you. With your Salvation Society taking the hits up front, all the treasures in the Ruins are as good as mine.”
Just like that, she vanished.
“That was the President of the Hidden Cultivation Association. Her Superpower lets her manipulate the flow of time—it’s extremely troublesome.”
“Unfortunately, if she were inside my Order Barrier, her time-control Ability wouldn’t be so easy to use.”
“What’s her name?”
Beside him, Jiang Lingling, who had just attacked, frowned slightly, glancing again at Han Zhan and Adam locked in fierce combat.
“The President of the Hidden Cultivation Association, Nuannuan.”
