I Just Want to Farm, But My Beasts Keep Evolving!!
Chapter 267: Everyone Gathers Around
Within the next few moments, under the shocked gaze of people in the city, the entire city was locked down by blockades, and in every corner, there were police cars roaming around, with multiple policemen patrolling on the Terra Beasts on the ground and in the sky as well.
When the people of the city asked them why the city was locked down, they all got the same answer: "We are searching for someone very important."
This caused a lot of merchants and people, important people, to be very angry. But when they heard the order came from the Solaris Clan, everybody quieted down instantly. Nobody wanted to offend the Behemoth of the Solaris Clan for such a minor inconvenience.
At the same time the city was locked down, Raiden found himself welcoming two visitors at the crime scenes that appeared within a few minutes of him being there.
"Right, and I’m so sorry. I am really, really sorry for what happened to Sylvia. I—" Yuna was the first to appear on the scene, her face being a half-mask of complete fury, along with half of the other face being apologetic.
"Sorry?? Sorry?!! What will I do with your damned sorry?!! You told me to put Sylvia on the campus. You promised me that you would look after her when she’s out here. You promised that you would protect her. Is this what you call protection??" Raiden’s voice was dripping with anger as he confronted her, eating his face. At this moment, he had forgotten all about his fear for his teacher Yuna, and the only thing in his mind was anger.
Hearing his biting words, Yuna felt anger and embarrassment rising in her chest, but she suppressed them deep down inside her. She knew she was at fault this time, so she took the verbal lashing silently.
"SKRREEE!!!"
Just as Raiden was about to continue speaking, a flash of dazzling light lit up in the sky as a phoenix appeared above them, quickly diving towards their location.
The next second, Phoenix disappeared in the tornado of fire, with Isadora appearing in her place, her expression full of worry.
"Raiden, are you okay??!" She spoke quickly in a concerned voice.
Looking at the provocatively dressed woman in front of him, Raiden suppressed the anger within his chest and spoke in a calm tone.
"No, I am not okay. Sylvia is somewhere out there, going through God knows what. I don’t want anything else. I just want to find her as fast as possible." Raiden’s voice had a hint of pleading and helplessness, in the end, causing both women to fall silent.
"Don’t worry. I have deployed every single person available in the task force to find her. They are checking all the CCTV cameras, the footage, and the areas near her rapidly. We will find her soon. Just keep having some hope." Isadora put her hand on his shoulder as he spoke in a comforting tone.
Raiden fell silent for a moment before he spoke in a heartfelt tone. "Thank you."
"Don’t worry about it. We are family, aren’t we?? I’ll go search for them myself as well."
"Me too. It’s partially my responsibility that Sylvia was kidnapped and I wasn’t able to protect her. I’ll turn the entire city upside down if I have to, but I will find her soon. You have my word for it." Yuna chipped in from the side as she gave a nod to Raiden and Isadora.
Looking at both of the women who were ready to go to such lengths for him, Raiden didn’t have any words he could speak.
So he simply bowed down and spoke, "Thank you again," to both of them, and watched as they disappeared on the horizon, intent on searching and digging out the culprit hiding in the city.
Just as he watched them go, Raiden’s phone rang out in his pocket.
He pulled it out only to find a call from Maple.
"Hello?? I’m sorry, Maple. I don’t really have time right now."
"No, I understand your situation, Raiden. I just called you to say our entire Stormwind family available in the city has joined up with the police force and is searching for your sister. Will update you as soon as we find any information. So don’t lose hope." Maple’s warm voice rang out on the other side of the phone, feeling worried for him.
Raiden felt his emotions stir once more as he heard her words over the cell phone. He was just a lone orphan boy. Yet somehow, he was able to mobilise the power of the entire city to search for his sister. This kind of favour was beyond what he had expected.
"Thank you, Maple. I won’t say any hypothetical words now. I have remembered this favour and will pay you back in the future for sure. Consider the favour I owed you guys paid, and now I am the one who owes you the favour."
"Don’t worry about it. The favour you have done to the Stormwind family is much, much bigger than this. This doesn’t really count as paying it back. This is the least we can do for you, and we still owe you a big favour."
"Whatever the case may be, I will remember this. Thank you. I need to go now." Raiden spoke in a warm tone.
"All right. Godspeed, Raiden. May The Ashen One watch over you." Raiden felt confused after hearing her last words, but he shook his head to clear it. Now wasn’t the time to ponder upon its meaning.
He turned around to look at a crimson serpent that was standing on the ground, sniffing it.
"Rose, do you have any leads? Can you find Sylvia??" Raiden’s voice was laden with hope as he spoke.
"Hiss~!!" I think I notice a trail, Rai Rai~!! It’s coming from that direction.
Rose turned around and pointed in the south direction.
"Huh? Are you sure it’s coming from that direction? The people who took her went in a different direction." Raiden asked in a serious voice.
"Hiss, hiss!!" I am sure!! The smell is coming from that direction!!
"All right, I trust you. Let’s go and bring Sylvia back home and make sure whoever that son of a bitch is pays at the same time."
