Chapter 588: Chapter 588: I’m Going to Be a Godmother

Claire Sinclair walked into the bathroom with two pregnancy tests, feeling a little nervous.

She tried the first test...

And... the result looked like two lines.

Still not quite believing it, Claire unwrapped the other pregnancy test, held it in for about ten minutes, and tested again. The result was still two lines.

’So, I’m really pregnant?’

’Is this for real...’

Unable to contain her excitement, Claire washed her hands, returned to her room, and picked up her phone, eager to video-call her best friend, Faye Dean.

The moment she opened the app, a video call request came in.

’Speak of the devil... It was from Faye.’

Claire immediately answered and blurted out, "Faye, I think I’m pregnant!"

At the exact same moment, Faye Dean said, "Claire, I think I’m pregnant!"

Claire froze. ’Did I just hear what I think I heard...’

"Faye, what did you just say?"

"Huh? You’re pregnant too?"

Claire blinked. "Did you just say you think you’re pregnant too?"

Faye Dean nodded repeatedly. "Yeah! My period is three months late, which is when I realized something was up. I suspect I might be pregnant, but I don’t have any proof."

Claire urged her, "You should go buy a pregnancy test and check right away."

"But it’s the middle of the night, no pharmacies are open. What about you? What’s your story?"

"Well... I just tested. Both tests showed two lines, so I guess I must be pregnant."

Faye exclaimed excitedly, "That’s amazing! I’m going to be a godmother!"

Something suddenly occurred to Claire, and she couldn’t help but raise an eyebrow. "Wait a minute. If you’re pregnant, who’s the father? I don’t remember you having a boyfriend."

Faye Dean chuckled. "Well, about that... If I can confirm tomorrow that I’m pregnant, I’ll fly back right away to find the baby’s dad. I just sorted out all the arrangements. If I’m not pregnant, then I probably won’t be able to come back for another two months. My mom’s health isn’t great, and I want to spend more time with her."

"What’s wrong with your mom?"

"It’s nothing serious, just her old back problems." After a pause, Faye brought the conversation back around. "Claire, does your husband know you’re pregnant yet?"

"Not yet. I only just found out myself. I wasn’t completely sure, so you’re the first person I’ve told. But for some reason, talking to you has made it feel real."

"Haha..." Faye laughed. "That’s because I’m your baby’s biggest fan, right from the get-go!"

"Ah, well, I’ll let you go then. I need to tell Mr. Quincy the news right away."

"Go on, honey. Good night." Faye Dean thoughtfully ended the video call.

Claire paused. ’If I just tell him over the phone, there’s no element of surprise. Maybe I should wait until he gets back and tell him in person?’

’In that case, while I’m waiting for him to come back, I can think about a name for the baby.’

’Then again, is it possible I could be having twins?’

The question was just a fleeting thought, but it also made her subconsciously remember the child she had once lost.

She had been more than two months pregnant then, but tragically, she lost the baby without ever knowing she was carrying it. She never found out if it had been a single baby or twins.

At this thought, Claire resolutely picked up her phone. Wanting to resolve this lingering question, she immediately sent a message to Adrian Quincy: "Adrian, my last pregnancy... was it one baby, or was it twins?"

She waited for a long time, but there was no reply. ’He must be somewhere he can’t check his phone.’
