Incubus Lord: Lust Harem System
Chapter 312: The Ash Wanderer Steps Forth
Chapter 312: Chapter 312: The Ash Wanderer Steps Forth
The arena fell silent as Kael stepped onto the stone floor.
He walked alone.
Behind him, the six members of the Nameless Sect sat in the shadowed dugout, their figures still as statues.
They didn’t move. They didn’t speak. They just watched.
Kael stopped at the center of the arena.
His grey tattered bandages wrapped around his forearms, stained with what looked like old ash.
An unadorned iron sheath hung at his waist.
No ornament. No inscription. Just plain black metal.
He didn’t look up at the crowd.
He didn’t acknowledge the Stone Heart Sect team marching toward him.
He just stood there.
Waiting.
The Stone Heart Sect’s vanguard was a mountain of a man.
His name was Gromm.
He stood two and a half meters tall, his body covered in thick spiked rock armor that pulsed with brown earth energy. In his hands, he carried a war hammer the size of a boulder.
He stopped ten meters from Kael.
"You send one boy against us?" Gromm’s voice rumbled like an avalanche. "Do you have a death wish?"
Kael didn’t answer.
Gromm’s face twisted with anger.
He raised his war hammer.
The earth beneath his feet cracked and split as he channeled his spiritual energy into the weapon.
Brown light bloomed along the hammer’s head, dense and heavy.
"Then die!"
Gromm’s roar tore through the arena like a clap of thunder, his voice carrying the weight of a man who had crushed countless opponents beneath his hammer.
The crowd erupted in a fresh wave of cheers, their bloodlust spiking as they anticipated the brutal end of this mysterious boy.
He charged.
The ground shook with each step.
Cracks spiderwebbed across the stone floor beneath Gromm’s massive boots, dust and loose pebbles rattling with every earth-shaking impact.
His war hammer glowed with dense brown energy, the air around it growing heavy, pressing down like a mountain’s shadow.
The crowd leaned forward. Hundreds of bodies shifted as one, their breaths held, their eyes wide.
This was the moment they had come for—the crushing, the breaking, the end.
From the Azure Dragon dugout, Damon watched, his luminous golden eyes locked on Kael.
He didn’t blink.
His sharp brows furrowed slightly as he studied the boy’s stance, his breathing, the way his bandaged hands hung loose at his sides.
’He’s not moving.’
Damon’s instincts prickled.
He had seen countless fighters brace themselves, plant their feet, or circulate their spiritual energy before a strike. Kael did none of that.
He stood as if he were waiting for a breeze to pass, utterly unconcerned by the avalanche barreling toward him.
’Either he’s suicidal, or he knows something we don’t.’
Gromm closed the distance in two heartbeats.
The war hammer came down.
A strike that could shatter a mountain.
The air screamed as the hammer descended, a shockwave of brown energy trailing behind it like a comet’s tail.
The stone beneath Gromm’s feet cratered from the sheer force of his swing.
Kael didn’t draw his sword.
He took one step forward.
His foot landed softly, almost gently, as if he were stepping onto a quiet garden path instead of a battlefield.
And tapped the hilt of his weapon with his thumb.
A soundless ring rippled outward.
It wasn’t a noise that reached the ears. It was a vibration that passed through the air, through the stone, through the very spiritual energy that saturated the arena. Damon felt it brush against his own cultivation like a whisper in the dark—soft, fleeting, but unmistakably present.
The world went still.
It wasn’t visible at first. Just a faint distortion in the air, like heat rising from stone.
Then the ash-colored mist appeared.
It spread in a perfect circle around Kael, moving fast, covering the arena floor in a thin grey layer.
Gromm’s war hammer stopped mid-swing.
His eyes went wide.
The rock armor on his body began to crumble.
Not break. Not crack.
Dissolve.
The thick grey stone peeled away like dust, falling from his body in streams of grey powder.
His spiritual energy drained out of him, visible as a brown mist that evaporated into nothing.
Gromm’s legs gave out.
He collapsed face-first onto the arena floor. The impact sent a tremor through the stone, dust and debris kicking up around his massive body.
Silence.
Not the kind of silence that comes from shock.
The kind that comes from disbelief.
The crowd stared, their cheers dying in their throats.
The Stone Heart Sect members in the dugout stared, their faces pale, their hands gripping the wooden rail so hard it creaked.
Even Grand Marshal Vane’s eyes narrowed slightly, a flicker of something—recognition? concern?—passing through his stoic expression.
Kael stood in the center of the arena, his hand still resting on his hilt, his expression unchanged.
The ash-colored mist around him began to recede, fading back into his body like a living thing returning to its lair.
He didn’t look at the fallen giant.
He didn’t look at the crowd.
He turned his head slowly, deliberately, and looked directly at Damon.
And smiled.
It wasn’t a friendly smile. It was the kind of smile a predator gives another predator before a fight.
Damon’s body went cold.
His Incubus Celestial Eyes pulsed, trying to pierce through Kael’s defenses, to see his cultivation, his bloodline, his weaknesses.
They found nothing.
Just a wall of absolute, impenetrable decay.
The system’s warning echoed in his mind.
Damon’s grip on the Chaos Devourer tightened.
’This changes everything.’
His Incubus Celestial Eyes twitched violently in their sockets, the golden patterns shifting and struggling as they tried to analyze what they had just seen.
They couldn’t.
The energy wasn’t normal.
It wasn’t destruction.
It wasn’t absorption.
It was decay.
Damon’s mind raced.
’He’s not using Qi to break Qi. He’s using something that makes Qi rot. Decay. Entropy.’
’That’s not a normal cultivation path.’
The system pinged.
[Warning: Host has encountered a Primordial Decay Bloodline.]
[Origin: Unknown.]
[Threat Level: Extreme.]
[Recommendation: Do not engage in direct spiritual energy clash.]
Damon’s jaw tightened.
’Primordial Decay.’
That name carried weight.
Weight that made the Chaos Devourer feel light in his hand.
He watched Kael turn and walk back toward his dugout, the six silent members rising to meet him.
