Chapter 422: Spoiled

"Alright," Dax nodded with a smile. "The airship showroom is upstairs. Let me lead the way." With that, he and his assistant led the group forward.

The moment they stepped into the showroom, Yilan let out a sharp gasp.

The entrance to the showroom felt like a gateway straight into outer space. Walking in was like taking a stroll through the cosmos, with no visible end in sight. Rows of airships hovered in midair, clearly displayed before everyone’s eyes.

"This really lives up to the reputation of Starlight Prime Tech," Yilan said excitedly, squeezing her mate’s hand. She couldn’t even begin to imagine how many spatial stones and rare minerals it took to construct a showroom like this. "Bree, these airships are gorgeous!"

Bree was equally stunned by the display, but she had always been composed and wasn’t about to react as overly dramatically as Yilan. Sneaking a glance at Yilan’s unseemly excitement, she asked with a smile, "Didn’t you say you wanted to buy Starlight Prime Tech’s latest model for this year? Which one is it?"

Hearing this, Dax’s assistant immediately stepped forward to introduce the models to them. "Our latest model for this year is right here."

The assistant gestured, and a massive light screen descended, displaying a sleek, grey-gold airship. "Ladies, please take a look. This model utilizes our newest technology..."

The assistant went on to quickly detail the airship’s features. Yilan was incredibly tempted as she listened, but the moment she heard the price, her brows furrowed.

She turned to Dax. "Didn’t you say you’d give me a discount for my sister-in-law’s sake? Why is it still so expensive?"

Dax replied with a smooth smile, "This is already the lowest possible price, marked down by fifty percent. On top of that, we are including the latest hardware and systems as a package deal."

The assistant chimed in with a grin, "The upgraded systems and hardware our Lord mentioned usually cost extra for any other buyer. A full set of those upgrades costs almost half as much as the airship itself, but we’re giving them to Miss Yilan for free. This really is the absolute maximum concession we can make."

Yilan was still a bit reluctant. In her mind, she had hoped she could practically walk away with the airship without spending a dime. Looking aggrieved, she turned her eyes to Rory.

Noticing her gaze, Rory smiled and said to her, "I think the price is very fair. What do you think?"

Yilan: "..."

What did she think? She thought it absolutely wasn’t fair, of course! But with everyone watching her, she was too embarrassed to push it any further.

"Fine, let’s go with the price you mentioned," Yilan conceded, turning to her mate. "Go handle the paperwork with him. We’ll drive this airship back later." She finally had her very own airship today.

"Yes, Female Master," Yilan’s mate replied, immediately leaving with Dax’s assistant to process the paperwork.

Once they left, Dax took a step forward and asked with a smile, "Would everyone like to look at more airships, or shall we tour the other exhibition halls? I’ve prepared a lot of unreleased products for you today. Would you like to check them out?"

"Unreleased products?" Yilan’s interest was instantly piqued. If she could buy something from Starlight Prime Tech that hadn’t even hit the market yet, she would have so much bragging rights in front of the other females.

"Yes," Dax nodded. "We have new hunting weapons, hovercars, spatial rings..." He listed quite a few items.

The more Yilan listened, the more tempted she became. Even Bree was intrigued. Their Zerg race could barely keep pace with the Beastmen when it came to battleships, but they lagged far behind in almost every other sector.

"Let’s go take a look together then," Bree said.

Before long, the group headed up to an even higher exhibition hall. Bree took the opportunity to pull Yilan along and close the distance with Rory, trying to build rapport.

"Rory, is there anything here you like? I’ll buy it and give it to you as a gift." As she spoke, she glanced at Sylas beside her with a smile. "My mate, Sylas, might not be as high-ranked as your mates, but he is rich."

Sylas was already the patriarch of the tribe, so his financial backing was indeed substantial.

Rory nodded with a smile. "Sure, then I won’t stand on ceremony."

If it were a gift Bree brought herself, Rory might be worried about foul play and hesitate to accept it. But anything taken from Starlight Prime Tech was produced by Dax, so it was guaranteed to be safe. Since Bree wanted to flaunt her wealth, Rory was more than happy to indulge her.

Upon entering the new hall, Rory looked at the wide array of novel items she had never seen before. She casually picked up a newly designed spatial ring and said excitedly to Bree, "This ring is so beautiful. I really like it."

Bree glanced at the price tag—it was only a hundred million star coins. She smiled at Rory and said, "If you like it, it’s yours." Turning to Dax, she added, "Put this on my tab. I’ll settle it altogether later."

"No problem," Dax nodded with a smile. He immediately had someone pack up the ring Rory fancied and hand it over to Jasper, ensuring it never touched Bree’s hands throughout the entire process.

"I like this weapon too," Rory said, picking up a newly designed hunting weapon and looking at Bree. "I think it really suits me."

Bree nodded graciously. "I think it suits you perfectly too. I’ll get this one for you as well."

Yilan was nearly dying of envy. The ring was one thing—it wasn’t worth much. But that weapon was incredibly expensive. Why was Bree only buying gifts for Rory and not for her?

Yilan immediately stepped forward, tugging at Bree’s arm to act spoiled. "Bree, I want that weapon too."

Bree glanced at Yilan, secretly wishing she could strangle her. Why was this idiot inserting herself right now? ℯ

"You don’t even go out to hunt exotic beasts. What do you need a weapon for?" Bree asked, suppressing her urge to snap.

Yilan replied righteously, "I don’t go out because I don’t have a weapon, don’t I? If I have a weapon, I’ll definitely go. Bree, I know you’re the best, just buy it for me. I just bought an airship, so I don’t have many star coins left in my account."

Her mates weren’t as formidable as Vincent and the others, nor were they as rich as Sylas. She couldn’t afford these things on her own.

"Alright," Bree gritted her teeth, nodding at Yilan with a forced smile. "I’ll give it to you."

"Bree, you’re the best!" Yilan was thrilled. She knew Bree treated her the best.

While Bree and Yilan were talking, Rory picked out several more items. Dax had his staff pack all of them up. He even thoughtfully asked Sylas if all of these should be charged to his and Bree’s account.

Sylas looked at Rory, hesitated for a moment, and then nodded. "Just do as the Female Master wishes."

Dax nodded, putting every single item Rory selected onto Bree’s tab.

Once Bree and Yilan finished speaking, Dax stepped forward and held out a spatial ring to Bree. "Miss Bree, thank you for supporting Starlight Prime Tech today. This spatial ring is our return gift to you."

"Thank you."

Bree accepted the spatial ring from Dax’s hand. As she reached out, her fingertips tried to brush against Dax’s palm, but Dax smoothly pulled his hand back, avoiding her touch entirely.
