"Why didn’t I get a complimentary gift?" Yilan asked Dax unhappily, staring at the ring in Bree’s hand.

Did this Dax finally notice how great Bree was? Was he intentionally trying to get on her good side? But his Starlight Prime Tech was such a massive enterprise, yet he was only giving away a single spatial ring—wasn’t that a bit too stingy?

Hearing Yilan’s questioning tone, Dax suppressed the disgust in his eyes.

He smiled and told her, "Complimentary gifts are only given when a purchase at Starlight Prime Tech reaches a certain amount. Miss Yilan, your spending didn’t meet the threshold for a gift."

"What?" Yilan looked at Dax in shock. "I bought a whole starship, and that still wasn’t enough to get a gift?"

Dax replied, "If your starship had been purchased at full price, it definitely would have met the threshold. But since it was already marked down by fifty percent, we really can’t throw in a complimentary gift."

It was already half price, and she still wanted a gift? Why doesn’t this female just rob us instead?

Yilan fell silent instantly, though her expression remained sour.

"What did I even buy? How did I hit the gift threshold so easily?" Bree asked Dax, thoroughly confused.

She clearly hadn’t picked out anything. When Dax offered her the ring just now, she had assumed he was seizing the opportunity to flirt with her.

Dax handed her the receipt to look at. "Your mate, Sylas, picked all of these out for you."

Bree looked at the receipt on the light screen in front of her, which listed the items Sylas had selected for her. There were also the items she had just agreed to buy for Rory.

This Rory was really pushing her luck. She had actually chosen seven or eight items, almost matching the price of Yilan’s starship.

Bree felt a wave of resentment, but the words had already left her mouth and she couldn’t take them back now. She could only swallow her anger. Just wait—once the Female Festival is over, I’ll make Rory lose her true love before torturing her to death.

Suppressing the rage in her heart, Bree looked up at Sylas with a shy, timid gaze. "Why did you buy me so many things?"

Sylas answered softly, "I figured you would like them, so I took the liberty of getting them. I’ve been busy lately and haven’t had time to accompany you, so consider these my apology."

"I wasn’t even mad at you," Bree said with a smile, giving Sylas’s waist a playful pinch. "You always find ways to make me happy."

"Bree and Sylas get along so well," Yilan remarked from the side, watching them flaunt their affection with envy. "Sylas is incredibly good to you. You didn’t even have to say a word, and he already picked out everything you wanted."

With that, she glared at the mates standing beside her.

Unlike these idiots. Ever since they arrived at Starlight Prime Tech, not a single one of them had offered to buy her anything.

Yilan’s mates felt incredibly wronged. They wanted to buy gifts for their female master, but every single star coin they earned was stripped away by her. They literally had no money on them.

One of Yilan’s mates felt particularly resentful. Not daring to talk back to Yilan, he suddenly turned his gaze toward Wen and Jasper, who were standing next to Rory.

"We might not be as wealthy as Sylas," he began, "but Jasper is the leader of the Hunter Association, so he shouldn’t be short on cash, right? How come we haven’t seen him take the initiative to buy anything for his female?"

"Is he dissatisfied with his own female?"

"And the Merman King—one-third of the aquatic territories belong to the merman race, so you shouldn’t be lacking money either. Why haven’t we seen you buy anything for your female?"

He didn’t dare cross males who clearly shouldn’t be messed with, like Vangar, Vincent, and Xarion. But he was perfectly comfortable throwing passive-aggressive shade at Jasper and Wen, who were of a similar rank to him.

"Because I already have most of the things here."

"And the few items I don’t have, Bree has already gifted to me."

Rory cast a hostile glance at Yilan’s mate. Is this male out of his mind? He couldn’t keep his own female happy, so he resorted to driving wedges in other people’s relationships. What a complete piece of trash.

Xarion chuckled and chimed in to support Rory. "No need to be angry, Female Master. Some beasts have minds as narrow as a needle’s eye. They just can’t stand to see others happy."

"Exactly, exactly!" Nix added. "Not only are they petty, but they’re also brainless. The words coming out of his mouth smell as foul as mutated beast dung."

"Nix, how dare you insult me?!" Yilan’s mate glared at Nix in a fury.

Although Nix was a famously renowned mecha master, he was only a Rank 9. Without his mecha, in a one-on-one fistfight, Nix was absolutely no match for him. Consequently, he wasn’t afraid of Nix at all.

"What’s wrong with insulting you? You’re trying to stir up trouble among my family members—I actually want to beat you up." Nix wasn’t the least bit intimidated by Yilan’s mate. He knew he couldn’t win the fight alone, but standing right behind him were Vincent, Xarion, and Vangar. He had zero reasons to be afraid.

"Fine! Let’s settle this with a fight then!" Yilan’s mate snapped angrily. Among males, conflicts were settled with fists. Whoever won was in the right.

"Bring it on, you think I’m scared of you?" Nix shot back. Then, he instantly turned his head toward Vincent. "Vincent, beat him up for me."

Vincent pressed a hand to his forehead, caught between amusement and exasperation. The guy initiated the fight himself, only to call for a substitute driver. He really was something else.

Shaking his head helplessly at Nix, Vincent took a step forward, his sharp, piercing gaze locking onto Yilan’s mate. "How do you want to play this? Shall we sign a life-and-death contract and settle it outside, or should I just thrash you right here?"

Seeing Vincent step forward, Yilan’s mate instinctively took a step back in fright.

Blushing with humiliation and rage, he glared at Nix. "Nix, do you have no shame? I challenged you to a fight, and you’re getting someone else to do your dirty work."

Nix replied triumphantly, "There’s no rule saying I can’t call backup. You can find someone to fight for you, too."

Yilan’s mate stood speechless.

Vangar cracked his wrists, his voice freezing cold as he spoke up. "Nix won’t be fighting you. If you don’t want to fight Vincent, you can choose me instead." This was the perfect opportunity to put on a good show in front of his little female master.

"You can choose me, too. I guarantee I’ll beat you so badly your own grandfather won’t recognize you," Xarion added smoothly.

Nix straightened his back, looking down his nose smugly at Yilan’s mate. He had people covering his back.

Just as Xarion finished speaking, a water ball slammed directly into the head of Yilan’s mate with a sharp splat. Immediately following it, a purple snake tail materialized out of nowhere, wrapped tightly around his neck, hoisted him into the air, and hurled him straight out the building’s window.

Wen and Jasper exchanged a look. Not bad. A fairly well-coordinated execution.

Paros stood by the window, glancing downward. A fall from this height didn’t even kill the beast. What a pity.

Seeing her mate suddenly thrown out the window, Yilan flared up with anger. He was her mate; throwing him out like that was a direct slap to her face.

She was just about to lose her temper when Bree gave her a gentle nudge.

"Don’t forget our plan," Bree whispered secretly to Yilan, using a volume only the two of them could hear. "Trading a useless mate to get Vincent—think about which one is worth more."

At the mention of Vincent, Yilan immediately snapped her eyes toward him. If Vincent had been the one standing by her side just now, he could have bought every single item in this place for her.
