Chapter 729: Chapter 461: Giant Vegetables

Afterward, Feng Mountain strolled into his office.

As soon as he stepped inside, a sense of crude emptiness hit him.

Inside the office of the esteemed boss of Crown Territory, there was only a handmade log desk and a wooden chair.

And who knows which crude craftsman’s hands they came from.

The edges of the desk and the armrests of the chair even had patches of bark still on them.

Feng Mountain sat down in the hardwood chair, which was draped with an animal pelt.

The moment he sat, he couldn’t help but frown.

The chair was incredibly hard and uneven, making his butt ache.

He glanced around.

Looking at the bare walls.

His thoughts began to wander as he mulled over what he could hang up to decorate this shabby office.

’Hmm!’

Feng Mountain stroked his chin. After a moment’s thought, his eyes lit up.

’I’ll go back to the cabin and get a few antique guns to hang on the walls. Then I’ll borrow a few taxidermy animals from Old Tom. That way, it’ll not only add a rustic charm but also give this office some character.’

The more Feng Mountain thought about it, the better the idea seemed, and the corners of his mouth curved into a slight smile.

His gaze continued to roam around the room.

When it landed on a corner, he had another idea.

’I could also put a few pots of moss in the corner to bring a bit of green into the room. It would be best to add a sofa, too. That way, if guests come over, there’ll be a place to host them.’

Just as Feng Mountain was zoning out, lost in his daydreams of designing the new office, a sudden rush of hurried footsteps broke the silence.

"Ms. Tessa, is the boss in?" Gordon’s slightly weary voice followed.

"In!" Tessa’s cold voice replied curtly.

Immediately after, two figures walked into Feng Mountain’s office.

"You look exhausted, my friend." By this time, Feng Mountain had already stood up, opening his arms to enthusiastically welcome Gordon, who had returned from procuring vegetable and fruit seedlings.

"I am pretty tired. Most of the time was spent on a plane."

Gordon’s face showed clear signs of fatigue, and the dark circles under his eyes were even more pronounced. He set his backpack down as he spoke.

After hugging Feng Mountain, he looked around the empty office and couldn’t help but tease, "Boss, you sure are frugal. This is the shabbiest office I’ve ever seen."

"Damn it, this cabin was just finished today. Look at that desk—it’s still got spruce buds on it. God help me, I have no idea if it’s going to grow into a tree one day."

Feng Mountain shook his head helplessly as he spoke, using sarcasm to express his dissatisfaction with the crude office environment.

After speaking, he glanced pointedly at Tessa, but she acted as if she hadn’t seen a thing. Her expression remained cold as she said, "The reception room is outside. I’ve already called the restaurant to send over some coffee."

"Alright, let’s get out of here and go sit outside."

Feng Mountain shrugged, pulled Gordon out of the office, and went to the outer reception room.

They called it a reception room.

In reality, it was just the small living room area by the entrance, which had been given the grand-sounding title of "reception room."

Two long benches were placed facing each other, separated by a wooden coffee table.

A fireplace was built to the side.

Inside the hearth were the faint traces of embers that hadn’t completely gone out.

They radiated a faint warmth.

"The accommodations are a bit simple, but it’ll have to do for now." Feng Mountain gestured for Gordon to sit down, an easygoing smile on his face, as he prepared to sit as well.

The moment he sat down.

The corner of his eyebrow twitched. He subtly shifted his position, as if the bench beneath him was a bit uncomfortable.

Then.

He cut straight to the chase.

"Did you find a supplier for the vegetable and fruit seedlings?"

At the mention of business.

Gordon immediately perked up and nodded eagerly.

He then bent over to pick up the backpack on the floor.

He pulled out a thick stack of documents, placed it on the coffee table, and began to speak.

"I have a partner in poach—ahem, a friend, who lives in Maitanaga Valley in northeastern Angelo. It’s also called Giant Vegetable Valley, famous for growing massive vegetables. After I contacted him, I flew straight there."

Gordon paused for a moment before continuing.

"When I got there, my friend introduced me to several farm owners who specialize in vegetable cultivation. They were very interested in our procurement plan and are all willing to provide a large quantity of vegetable and fruit seedlings. These documents contain the various varieties their farms produce."

As he spoke, Gordon gently pushed the documents in front of Feng Mountain.

Giant Vegetable Valley!

Feng Mountain curiously picked up one of the documents and opened it.

When he saw the pictures inside, his eyes widened abruptly, his face filled with shock.

Holy cow!!

Feng Mountain couldn’t help but cry out, his voice filled with clear astonishment.

The cabbages, garlic sprouts, and radishes shown in the pictures.

Were unbelievably huge.

A head of cabbage was as big as a small round table, the garlic sprouts were as thick as an arm, and the radishes were the size of a human leg.

The size of these vegetables completely defied Feng Mountain’s understanding.

His first reaction was.

’This has to be fake!’

’Gordon usually seems so sharp and clever.

How could he not see through such a simple scam?’

’As far as Feng Mountain was concerned, there was no place that could grow vegetables this big. These pictures were obviously fake. Gordon’s so-called "poaching friend" must have set him up.’

Thinking of this, Feng Mountain put down the documents. A worried expression appeared on his face, and he said earnestly, "Gordon, don’t feel pressured about the plantation. We can take our time finding seedlings. There’s no rush, but please don’t get scammed."

’Don’t get scammed?’

Gordon froze for a second.

A confused look crossed his face, not understanding why his boss would say such a thing.

But when he saw his boss’s finger resting on a picture of a giant pumpkin.

He immediately understood.

He didn’t know whether to laugh or cry and quickly waved his hands in dismissal.
