Chapter 730: Chapter 461: Giant Vegetables 2

"Boss, these vegetables are real. They’re very famous in the Giant Vegetable Valley in Alaska. Tessa has probably heard of it, too. It’s renowned for producing all sorts of massive vegetables."

Gordon then took a small booklet out of his backpack and handed it to Feng Mountain. "This has some information about Giant Vegetable Valley and visitor accounts. You can take a look."

’Is that so?’

Feng Mountain took the brochure.

His eyes were still filled with doubt. Unconvinced, he turned to look at Tessa.

Her expression was calm. She gave a silent nod and spoke unhurriedly.

"That’s right. Giant Vegetable Valley is indeed very famous in Alaska."

"The crops there grow to an unimaginable size."

"Potatoes can grow as large as basketballs, and a single head of cabbage can weigh over 30 kilograms on average. A regular white radish can reach over 20 kilograms. Pea plants can grow tall enough to tower over a person on horseback, and carrots can be 20 centimeters thick and 35 centimeters long."

"Even the pasture grass grows so lushly it can easily clear the head of a rider on horseback. A single vegetable is enough to feed an entire family for a meal."

Listening to Tessa’s description,

the suspicion on Feng Mountain’s face gradually faded.

It was replaced by surprise and curiosity.

He looked down at the brochure again, carefully studying the pictures inside.

Then, Tessa continued her explanation.

She straightened up slightly, her gaze focused and serious, as if she were narrating an incredibly important scientific tale.

"I once read an analysis report on Giant Vegetable Valley. The growing environment for its vegetables is completely comparable to the prehistoric era. Back then, the heavy water content in the Earth’s soil was extremely low, solar radiation was more intense, and both electric and magnetic fields were stronger than they are now. However, because the Earth’s environment has undergone several large-scale changes, plants have started to grow more slowly and become smaller in size."

"Tests on Giant Vegetable Valley revealed that its soil is different from the outside world. It contains water with the low heavy water content of the prehistoric age. The valley’s geological structure and weather factors create strong electric and magnetic fields. Furthermore, the local land is fertile, and the underground Rock contains many radioactive minerals. This uniquely blessed environment is what allows these massive vegetables to grow."

As Tessa explained, Feng Mountain and Gordon listened with rapt attention.

Their eyes were filled with astonishment and curiosity, as if a door to a magical world had been opened before them.

However, despite Tessa’s clear and logical explanation,

Feng Mountain didn’t actually understand most of the technical details.

But one phrase came through loud and clear.

Uniquely blessed environment.

’No matter how good the environment of a mere Giant Vegetable Valley is,’

’could it possibly be better than the Crown Territory, which possesses the Fire Seed?’

’If Giant Vegetable Valley can grow giant vegetables,’

’there’s no reason the Crown Territory can’t.’

’As long as I have seeds and live plants, I can grow vegetables and fruits even bigger than those in Giant Vegetable Valley.’

At this thought,

a fire of excitement ignited in Feng Mountain’s eyes. He turned to Gordon and asked impatiently,

"Are they willing to sell the vegetable and fruit seedlings? A higher price isn’t a problem. The key is that they must be guaranteed to be the giant type."

Gordon was taken aback by the boss’s fervent gaze.

He subconsciously leaned back and hurriedly said,

"They’re willing to sell, but they can’t guarantee they will grow into giant vegetables. Giant Vegetable Valley has tried planting them in other locations, but the vegetables produced never met the giant standard."

He paused for a moment before adding,

"Because they’re live plant starters, the selling price is a bit higher than the market rate. The seeds, on the other hand, are very cheap."

"A little more expensive is fine. What varieties can they provide?"

Feng Mountain waved his hand grandly, looking every bit the big spender, not caring about the price at all.

’As long as I can get those giant vegetable live plants for the Crown Territory,’

’with the Crown Territory’s unique conditions, a one hundred percent success rate is guaranteed.’

’After one or two generations of cultivation,’

’the title of ’Giant Vegetable Valley’ might just belong to the Crown Territory in the future.’

At this thought, the anticipation in Feng Mountain’s eyes grew even more intense.

"The available varieties are all here, with their corresponding prices," Gordon said, rummaging through his documents for a moment before finding a price list and handing it to Feng Mountain.

Taking the price list, Feng Mountain’s gaze fell upon it.

The list was filled with all sorts of vegetable and fruit varieties.

Cabbage, pumpkin, daikon, napa cabbage, carrots, peas, potatoes, scallions, onions, garlic, Cherry Tomatoes, melons, watermelons, strawberries, blueberries, and even pasture grass...

The vegetable varieties were numerous.

There were dozens of them, along with more than ten types of fruit.

Each one had a detailed price listed after it.

The prices were indeed much higher than for ordinary vegetables and fruits.

But Feng Mountain was currently single-mindedly focused on introducing these special fruits and vegetables to the Crown Territory.

He didn’t pay much mind to the prices.

"Excellent, excellent!"

Feng Mountain couldn’t contain his joy, cheering repeatedly.

It was as if he could already see the wonderful future of the Crown Territory, covered in giant fruits and vegetables.

Tessa tilted her head slightly.

Her gaze fell on the price list in the boss’s hands.

She frowned slightly.

’There are a lot of varieties, that’s for sure,’ she thought to herself, ’but these prices are ridiculously high.’

Take the strawberry seedlings, for example.

On the regular market, a single strawberry seedling costs about 1 US Dollar, and the price can be even lower for bulk purchases.

But the strawberry seedlings sold by Giant Vegetable Valley were as high as 5 US Dollars a plant.

’Gordon and I just made it very clear.’

’Once these seedlings leave the special environment of Giant Vegetable Valley,’

’it’s almost impossible for them to grow into giant vegetables elsewhere. And yet they still set the price this high.’

But when Tessa looked over at the boss,

she saw the excited glint in his eyes.

He looked like he was seeing a mountain of treasure.

Thinking of the boss’s usual habit of spending money like water and his unrestrained way of doing things,

Tessa knew that if she didn’t stop him in time,

this money would probably be wasted.

Immediately, her expression turned serious, her eyes fixed on Feng Mountain as she spoke, word by word.

"The ability of Giant Vegetable Valley’s vegetables to grow to giant sizes is entirely thanks to its unique, special environment."

"People have tried taking seedlings from Giant Vegetable Valley to plant elsewhere, but what grew were just ordinary vegetables. Therefore, from a practical standpoint, there is no need for us to spend such a high price to buy these live plants from Giant Vegetable Valley."

"’Yes, you’re right,’ Feng Mountain nodded quickly, as if by reflex. But the moment the words left his mouth, his gaze immediately shifted back to Gordon, the urgency in his eyes undiminished as he pressed, ’But if we buy the live plants in bulk, can they give us a discount?’"

"As for a discount, I can try to negotiate with them. However, they’ve made it clear that they can’t guarantee the survival rate of these live plants."

Gordon glanced at Tessa, whose expression was growing colder by the second.

He felt a chill run down his spine, so awkward he didn’t know what to do with his hands and feet.

He subconsciously shrank his neck, an uneasy and flustered look on his face.

After speaking,

he glanced uneasily at Tessa out of the corner of his eye, then nervously at his bosses.

His heart was in turmoil.

He had no idea what decision the boss would make next.

At this moment, however, Feng Mountain was lost in his own vision and didn’t notice Tessa’s increasingly sour expression. He just continued, speaking as if to himself.

"Then make it clear to them. I need a large quantity of live vegetable and fruit seedlings."

"For the vegetables, no less than 1,000 plants of each variety. As for the fruit plants, get me 2,000 of each variety to start."

"Oh, right. Jenny and Natasha both love strawberries. Get 5,000 strawberry seedlings."

"Boss!" Tessa could no longer contain her anxiety. She shot to her feet, her eyes locked on Feng Mountain, her gaze filled with sternness.

Then, she turned her gaze to Gordon, her tone leaving no room for argument.

"Mr. Gordon, please wait outside for a moment. I have something important to discuss with the boss alone."

"O-Okay!" Caught between the two of them, Gordon had long been feeling completely uncomfortable, as if countless ants were crawling all over him.

Upon hearing Tessa’s words,

Gordon hastily got up and scrambled toward the door.

He didn’t even look back,

as if a rabid brown bear were chasing him.

Leaving Feng Mountain and Tessa in the tense atmosphere of the office.
