Chapter 912 - Vacation... Right?

Chapter 912: Chapter 912 - Vacation... Right?

Leon sat in the passenger seat, carefully sipping the coffee from his tumbler. It was still hot, so he had to be careful. After another sip, he let out a quiet breath and smiled faintly as the morning sunlight streamed through the window while the car sped along the road.

"I thought you’d bring your wife and kid too, King," he said, glancing at the man driving beside him. The large-built man almost looked too big for the driver’s seat.

King simply sighed at the question.

"You know my kid’s still in school, Leon. And there’s no way you could’ve arranged all the travel documents for my wife and child on such short notice. You’re the only person I know who suddenly decides we’re going on an overseas trip with barely any warning."

Leon scratched the back of his head after hearing that.

"I got trapped inside a domain, so there’s literally nothing else for me to do. Even when I log into the game, all I can do is sit there doing nothing. Do you know how depressing that is?"

"I do understand that. I’ve known you long enough while working for you."

"You get it," Leon said. "Good thing Freya handled all the arrangements and managed to put this trip together."

"Well, if your real intention was to take Freya on vacation, you didn’t really need to invite me. I’m pretty sure Freya alone would’ve been more than enough to keep you company."

Leon didn’t answer. He simply looked out the window as the car continued smoothly through the city streets.

Eventually, they arrived at the airport and made their way toward the departure lounge.

Once they entered the waiting area, they spotted two familiar figures sitting in the distance.

"Why are they sitting so far apart?" King asked.

"No idea. Maybe they just wanted some personal space," Leon replied.

"And why are Freya and Laura both here?" King asked again.

"They’re part of Vensalor too. Why wouldn’t they be?"

"If you’re taking your two girlfriends on vacation, then you definitely don’t need me tagging along," King replied. "Well... actually, I guess you do. I almost forgot I’m your bodyguard now. Fine, I’ll make sure the three of you have a great vacation while you spend time with those two."

"I think you’re reading way too much into this, King," Leon answered in his usual flat tone. "A vacation is a vacation. We’re all just traveling together."

As they got closer, Freya came into view first. She was sitting with one leg crossed over the other, wearing a pair of black sunglasses that contrasted with her brown hair.

Laura, on the other hand, was seated a short distance away. She wore a light-colored outfit, and her blonde hair fell in soft, gentle waves over her shoulders.

The moment she noticed Leon approaching, Laura immediately stood up and walked toward him as Leon and King made their way over as well.

"Leon," Laura said, smiling a little wider than usual. Maybe it only seemed that way because Leon had been staring at King’s stiff expression the entire drive over.

"I’m a little confused. Why did you tell me to come this early? Our flight isn’t for another three hours, right? Still, I’m glad I didn’t end up arriving late."

"Three hours?" Leon repeated, looking confused.

Freya lowered her sunglasses before standing up as well.

"Oh... about that. The flight we’re taking sold out just as I was booking the tickets, so Laura had to take the next flight instead."

Hearing that, Laura’s expression shifted ever so slightly. A moment later, though, she smiled again.

"Oh, that’s why. Okay then. We’ll just meet at our destination."

Leon turned toward Freya, though he didn’t say a word.

"What?" Freya asked. "You don’t actually think I did that on purpose, do you?"

"Of course not. Why are you reacting like that?"

"No, Leon, I really don’t mind," Laura said with a gentle smile. "I’m actually grateful you bought my ticket too. I’ll pay you back later."

"Exactly. You don’t have to pay for everything, Leon," Freya added. "You’re spoiling everyone."

Watching the conversation between the three of them, King could only let out a sigh.

"Maybe it’s actually for the best that Freya and Laura are on separate flights."

Unfortunately for him, he had said it out loud instead of keeping it to himself.

Both girls immediately turned to look at him.

"Not you too, okay, King?" Freya protested. "There’s nothing going on here. Stop jumping to the same conclusions as Leon."

"Why am I the one getting blamed now, huh?" Leon shot back.

After that, they waited together for a while until it was finally time for Leon, Freya, and King to board, while Laura stayed behind to wait for her next flight.

The flight itself was fairly long. Fortunately, they were seated in the premium cabin, so the journey never felt too tiring. Leon spent most of the flight asleep, having deliberately stayed awake the night before so he could rest during the trip instead.

After landing, the three of them continued on together as they entered the arrival hall, only to find that it was far more crowded than it should have been.

"Why are there so many people in black suits over there?" King asked.

As they walked closer, they could see an even larger crowd gathered ahead, with people raising their phones to take photos.

Eventually, the crowd parted, revealing who everyone had been surrounding.

"Heejin?" King said in surprise as the famous Korean artist with long black hair came into view.

"Heejin came too, Leon? Was that just a coincidence?" King asked again.

Freya smirked as she looked at him.

"You’d be surprised if you knew who he asked to come to Japan on such short notice."

King blinked.

"Don’t tell me... the entire guild?"

"What do you think?" Freya replied.

"So... is this actually a vacation, or is it work?" King asked again.

"If you really know Leon, that question shouldn’t even have crossed your mind."

"Okay, then."

King gave a small nod and simply kept walking. As they approached, they were finally allowed through the tightly guarded security circle formed by Heejin’s bodyguards.
