Chapter 913 - The Loudest Whisper

Chapter 913: Chapter 913 - The Loudest Whisper

From the moment they left the airport, throughout the drive to the hotel, even after they had checked in, and right up until the main gathering finally began that evening, King kept letting out sigh after sigh, shaking his head as though he still couldn’t believe any of this was real.

Leon now stood inside one of the hotel’s grand ballrooms. Crystal chandeliers hung from the high ceiling, while elegantly arranged round tables filled the spacious hall. Every detail, from the lighting to the decorations, reflected the luxury of the venue. And judging from their appearance alone, the guests gathered there were clearly not ordinary people.

"How did you get everyone together tonight, in Tokyo of all places, Broken?" King asked as he stood behind the man he was assigned to protect. "Don’t tell me you actually planned all of this just two days ago."

Freya, standing beside Leon in a long, elegant evening dress, smiled faintly before glancing back at him.

"This happened because of my management and organizational skills making sure everyone could come," she said. "Of course, none of it would’ve been possible without the influence of King Broken, the Guild Master of Vensalor. That’s the real reason all of these important people are here."

And she was right.

The ballroom was filled entirely with members of Vensalor. Every single person present belonged to the guild, including members of Vensalor Outrider.

"And who paid for all of this?" King asked again. "I know Broken is ridiculously rich now, but this doesn’t sound like something money alone can make happen."

"You already know the answer to that, King," Freya replied.

Leon simply started walking through the ballroom, gently taking Freya’s hand as they made their way from one group to another, greeting the guests who had gathered for the occasion.

The two of them eventually stopped in front of a woman with long blonde hair, dressed in an elegant evening gown that matched the formal atmosphere of the ballroom. She sat gracefully in her wheelchair, while a black-haired woman stood behind her with her hands resting on the handles.

It was PussyCat, one of the earliest players Leon had gotten to know after receiving the blessing of Goddess Akidia.

"Juliette," Leon said with a smile. "I’m really glad you were able to make it tonight."

He stepped closer before leaning down slightly to give her a brief, respectful hug. A moment later, he straightened up again as Juliette returned his smile with her usual graceful elegance.

"We’re your biggest sponsor, you know that, Leon," Juliette said warmly. "And I’m more than willing to do even more to support you. I have a feeling tonight is going to become something people will remember for a very long time. When that happens, I’d rather say I was here to witness it myself than hear about it from someone else afterward."

Freya let out a soft laugh beside him.

"Of course this is going to be something big. Leon doesn’t plan something like this without thinking it through carefully."

Juliette smiled knowingly, a quiet laugh escaping her lips as if she understood exactly what Freya meant.

"I have complete faith in our guild master’s talent and judgment," she said. "The future King of Vensalor Island."

Leon could only smile at the remark.

"Well, I just hope I don’t disappoint everyone’s expectations."

"I think you just got lucky," the black-haired woman behind Juliette suddenly cut in.

It was Forev, the archer and Juliette’s assistant.

"Yeah," Leon replied with a faint smile. "I really was just lucky. You’re not wrong about that."

Juliette let out a soft laugh.

"No matter how great someone’s luck is, it only matters if it falls into the hands of the right person. Luck alone isn’t enough. It still takes determination, hard work, talent, and the ability to make the most of every opportunity. None of this would’ve happened if it had been anyone other than Leon."

She glanced back at her assistant. "Forev, I think you could try being a little nicer to Leon whenever you meet him."

"I am nice to him. Even in the game."

Leon could only smile before excusing himself to continue greeting the other guests.

A moment later, a tall blond man stood up and strode confidently toward Leon with long, energetic steps. As soon as he reached him, he pulled Leon into a firm hug.

"My brother, my hero, my inspiration, my legend. Leon, the best. The GOAT," he declared before letting go with a wide grin. "I seriously feel honored to be here. Getting invited to something this special means a lot to me. I wouldn’t have missed it for anything."

"Glad you could make it too, Ronald."

"How could you even say that?" Ronald replied dramatically. "I’ll always be the first one to answer your call, and I’ll go beyond whatever you expect from me. If you told me to fly to the other side of the world right now, I’d already be on the plane."

"Tonight is going to be something special, isn’t it? I can feel it in the air." His grin widened even further. "I even brought several sponsors with me. They’re waiting outside right now. We’re going to bring in a lot of money. This is going to be huge."

Freya let out a long sigh.

"In the end, your mind always comes back to business, doesn’t it, Ron?"

Ronald paused and turned toward her with a serious look.

"You too, Freya."

"I think the same applies to you, Freya."

Ronald and King said it at exactly the same time.

"Yeah, you too, Freya," Leon said this time, turning to look at her.

"Not you too, Leon!" Freya protested. She reached over to pinch his side, but Leon casually stepped away and laughed.

"Wait... not here! We can have our pillow fight after we get home, okay?"

"Fine," Freya replied with a small nod. "I can hold myself back until then."

Hearing that, Ronald leaned toward King and whispered,

"So... they’re sleeping in the same bed now? And they even have pillow fights first?"

Unfortunately, his whisper was far louder than he intended. At that exact moment, the background music happened to pause between songs.

Everyone in the ballroom turned to look at Leon and Freya.

Leon immediately rubbed his forehead.

"I told you we shouldn’t have invited this brainless idiot," Freya muttered.
