Chapter 914 - The Frozen Truth
Chapter 914: Chapter 914 - The Frozen Truth
Leon and Freya continued greeting the remaining guests until a server approached them carrying a polished display tray. Resting neatly on top were several sleek white visors. Their frames were smooth and minimal, while the dark lenses gave no hint of what lay behind them.
Leon casually picked one up, with Freya following a moment later.
"They’re the latest product released by Juliette’s company," Freya explained. "The Immortal Legacy Visor. This is the compact version. Instead of using a full immersion capsule, users can enter Immortal Legacy through this device alone. It’s far more flexible, portable, and can be used almost anywhere. Of course, some advanced functions are limited compared to the full capsule system."
Leon gave a small nod.
"You’ve finished all the preparations, haven’t you?"
"Everything is ready. Juliette and Ronald were a huge help throughout the process, and every required record has already been mapped and organized. We’ll be holding the meeting inside the Immortal Legacy environment tonight. That way, any eyes or ears that shouldn’t witness what you’re about to discuss will be kept far away from the conversation."
Leon nodded again.
The time had finally come.
He walked toward the center of the grand hall, noticing that the other guests were already holding their own visors in anticipation.
Waiting there for him was a chair unlike any other in the room. It was a high-backed reclining seat built from polished black alloy with subtle silver accents running along its frame.
When Leon arrived, he didn’t sit immediately. Instead, he remained standing as every conversation in the ballroom gradually faded away. One after another, the guests turned their attention toward him, each already wearing their visor and waiting for him to begin.
"Let us begin."
Leon slowly placed the visor over his eyes.
The lenses lit up with a soft blue glow.
An instant later, the world around them began to change.
The luxurious ballroom dissolved piece by piece as if reality itself were being repainted. Marble floors transformed into lush green grass stretching endlessly in every direction.
Towering ancient trees rose around the gathering, their branches spreading wide overhead before opening into a brilliant blue sky filled with drifting white clouds.
Elegant dining tables and refreshment stations still remained, yet they no longer looked like ordinary furniture. They blended seamlessly into the vast meadow, crafted from polished wood and living vines as though they had always belonged within this peaceful landscape.
It felt as if reality and fantasy had become one.
Leon looked around as every guest completed the synchronization.
One after another, they appeared in the avatars they used inside the game. Their faces remained the same, making it easy to recognize one another, but each person now wore the equipment they had last logged out with.
This wasn’t the live Immortal Legacy server.
Instead, it was an isolated simulation environment, a complete mirror of the game world created specifically for meetings and strategic planning. Everything from the terrain and buildings to combat data and character records had been faithfully replicated. Here, they could discuss important matters without worrying about outside surveillance, test their characters’ skills, spar with one another, or even enter training grounds filled with simulated monsters.
It was, in every sense, a private version of Immortal Legacy.
Compared to the prototype simulation system that had existed years ago, this upgraded environment was vastly more advanced, capable of recreating almost every aspect of the real game.
Leon now stood once again within Broken’s familiar body.
He glanced around before stopping at the sight behind him.
Kingsley stood there with his massive frame, looking as imposing as ever. Beside him was Freya, clad in her elegant silver armor, her long brown hair flowing gently behind her.
Leon stepped forward and looked at the countless members of Vensalor gathered before him.
"Welcome, everyone, to the grand gathering of Vensalor. Seeing all of you here today is something I never imagined would become reality. Every achievement we’ve reached, every battle we’ve won, and every challenge we’ve overcome was only possible because all of you stood together. So today isn’t about celebrating me. It’s about celebrating every single one of us. Thank you... for making Vensalor what it is today."
For a brief moment, silence filled the field.
Then the entire crowd erupted.
Thunderous applause echoed across the grasslands. Cheers rose from every direction as some members whistled, others shouted at the top of their lungs, and several even jumped into the air in excitement.
"Since when did Broken learn how to give speeches like that?" Jovine said.
"Freya definitely wrote that."
"Was he reading from a script or something?"
Melliandra folded her arms before turning her face away with a scoff.
"It was stiff. Way too rehearsed. Doesn’t fit Broken’s shameless face at all."
Not far away, RememberMe suddenly dropped to one knee.
"My King Broken... you’ve grown so much. I knew there was a reason I’d devoted myself to worshipping you from the very beginning!"
"Why is this idiot still here?" someone immediately complained.
"Can someone throw him out already?"
Laughter spread through the crowd.
At that very moment, a loud voice shouted from the opposite side of the gathering.
"Broken! You’re my best friend! I was your very first friend in this game, and I’m proud of that! Everyone else here is fake! They only became your friends after they realized how ridiculously strong you are!"
It was Booba.
Elincia shot him an icy glare as blue lightning crackled around her body.
"Can you just shut up?"
Broken simply smiled before clearing his throat.
"Well... to be honest, I spent quite a while thinking about that opening speech."
"Turns out, that kind of thing just doesn’t suit me. So... let’s skip the formalities and get straight to the main topic."
The crowd chuckled before quickly settling down again, their attention returning to him.
Broken’s expression gradually became serious.
"I’m in a pretty desperate situation right now," he said.
The smiles on everyone’s faces disappeared.
Before anyone could ask what he meant, the scenery around them suddenly shifted.
The vast meadow vanished in an instant.
The world itself seemed to move around them at incredible speed, while they remained standing exactly where they were.
Mountains, forests, rivers, and endless landscapes rushed past like a rapidly changing panorama, leaving many of them staring with wide eyes.
Moments later, everything came to an abrupt stop.
An icy wind slammed into them.
The clear blue sky had been replaced by dark, storm-filled clouds. Snow swirled violently through the air as a brutal blizzard raged in every direction.
In the blink of an eye, they found themselves standing in the heart of a merciless frozen wasteland.
