The man looked up at the screen and was about to keep talking, but then he saw Leon and froze. Leon looked so young. There was no way that Leon was some big investor who wanted to spend on their company.

"Listen, kid, I’ve had a long day planning the launch and dealing with issues. I don’t want to deal with whatev..."

"Two million credits upfront," Leon said, looking right at the man, and immediately, the man froze and sat up.

"What did you say?" he asked.

"Two million, I said, and that’s a start. Your company is a small one that has only just started, and I’m sure you are struggling to keep your new product up and alive. Two million will be a great investment, will it not?"

The man looked extremely shocked. He wanted to say this was a lie and Leon was playing with him, but he did not want to accidentally ruin the chance he had to make something great. He needed this as much as possible.

"With two million, you could easily gain twenty percent of the company right now," the man said.

"Hmm, that will not be enough," Leon said. He tapped his finger on the table a few times.

The man became panicked when he saw that. He was scared that Leon was going to back away because of how much was being offered.

"Twenty-five percent, that’s all that I can do. The company has other investors," he said. Leon could hear the small panic behind his voice.

"Hmm, not enough. How about I offer you something even more than what two million can do?" Leon asked.

The man immediately became more intrigued. He leaned back in his chair and asked, "What’s that?"

"It’s simple. I have some gear that not even the government has, and it can easily up your game in your company. It’s completely legal and made by me, so as long as you do some paperwork, you could ensure that no one ever knows about it.

"You could even disguise it to look like your gear. I’m offering to hand over gear to you that would take your realistic simulation to the next level," Leon explained.

The man paused for a moment and then proceeded to speak. "You are telling me that you have some tools that will allow our work to get better? If I may ask, what sort of tools are these?" he asked.

Leon smiled, seeing that the man had bitten the bait. It was time for him to offer what could not be resisted.

"The best computers in the world, to say the least. I can get you actually awesome systems, build you the biggest server that you have ever had, and make sure that on your next update for the virtual world, you’ll be releasing something that the world has never seen and will never see again."

The man took the bait. He heard all that and could not resist at all. He looked at Leon across the screen. "Show me proof, and we will have a better deal."

Leon smiled, and at the same time, he started going through the system with the points that he had gathered. He searched through tech, and he expected it to be a bit expensive, but he was wrong. He actually saw something that could work.

[Vector System]

It was a personal computer, but one with specs beyond Leon’s wildest dreams.

"If I could buy this from the system store, what is the point of buying anything else?" Leon asked himself.

"You can’t seriously plan to use the system points you make for stuff like tech that you can buy, right? You have to use it for better things," Shadow said the moment he heard what Leon was saying.

"Sigh, I guess that makes full sense," Leon said. It did not make sense for him to use the system points for anything that was not investment and for better growth.

He decided not to buy the Vector PC. This man was not worth it yet.

"I have a contact, someone who can provide all the best computers for me and you. Her name is..."

[....]

"Seems you have guests."

Kate said as she saw Leon head her way, with Lily and Sophia following behind him.

"Yeah, sorry." He scratched the back of his head. "This is my little sister. She dropped into town a few days ago, and this is my girlfriend, Sophia." Leon introduced them.

"Girlfriend?" Kate asked.

"Yeah," Leon replied with an embarrassed smile.

"Get in. Let’s go," Kate said without another word. She glanced at Sophia, and for a moment, the air was tense.

They all got into the car. Kate sat at the front while Leon sat with Lily and Sophia at the back.

"The agent is already at the apartment, so we are going to head there now, Leon," Kate said as the driver started the journey.

"I also did what you asked concerning that gate," she started.

Leon’s eyes lit up immediately. "Did you get it for me?" he asked.

"Is that even a question? Of course I did, and I’m trusting that what you said will actually work. They moved up the date of the expedition since the money was complete, and they are set to enter tomorrow," Kate explained.

"Ouu, that’s good, and trust me, it’s going to work out perfectly," Leon said.

She let out a soft smile and then faced forward. "I do not know why I trust you so much with something like this, but I guess we just have to watch and see what happens," Kate said and looked ahead.

The moment he did, Sophia and Lily elbowed him in the sides at the same time. He gritted his teeth and looked at both of them, only for them to turn their heads away and pout.

’Arghhh, this is going to be a long day for me. I really should have thought about how they would react to her.’
