Leveling Up With My Investment System
Chapter 9: Platinum Star part one
Leon hailed a taxi down, driving into town. He had a few things that he wanted to do.
He came down and walked the rest of the way. There was something that he had wanted to do for so long, he had looked at this item on the website for so many days on end because he wanted it.
A bodysuit, a fitting one that sat perfectly on your body, providing immense defense under your clothes, it was used by many people to ensure their safety.
He arrived at the store, it was a pretty large building at the side of the road, it needed no signboard or major logo, everyone knew what it was meant for.
He walked in casually, there was a man standing there to welcome people, wearing a clean suit and a smile on his face, but for some reason when he saw Leon he frowned.
"Welcome sir, this is X-Force bodysuits. For high quality, luxury and expensive bodysuits," he spoke his line with practiced perfection, also making sure to emphasize the word expensive. Leon paid no heed to him and kept walking in.
Suddenly the man grabbed Leon and spoke to him.
"Kid, listen, this ain’t the place for you. The cheapest bodysuit here costs more than a thousand credits.
Save yourself the embarrassment and leave, there are much cheaper suits available at different places."
Leon looked at the hand that was on him, he took a deep breath as he tried to calm himself down and not react to it carelessly.
"Please get your hands off me and allow me to go in."
The man looked pissed when Leon said that, he tightened his grip and pulled hard.
"Kid, this isn’t a place to joke about, I said step out before you make a scene. I know your type, dreaming of a life that you cannot afford. Your clothes are cheap, you smell cheap.
I have had to deal with so many of your kind, dragging them out of here because they came in here and played in our faces."
At this point, the man was making a large scene, his voice could be heard all through the store and everyone’s attention was pulled to it. Leon stood there staring at this man, wondering what in the world was his issue.
"So your store profiles people based on how they look?" Leon asked, raising a brow.
At this point, the man had enough, he grabbed Leon and pulled with full strength, pushing him toward the door, only for the door to open and Leon slammed into the arms of someone. He felt something extremely soft and bouncy press against his head.
"And what is happening here?" The voice was sharp and cold, almost like a blade. Leon watched as the face of the man changed completely into worry and fear.
The woman grabbed Leon and helped him off her. Leon finally turned and he saw the woman. She was tall, beautiful, silver-haired. She had on a clean silver suit and her jacket on her shoulders without the arms in it, her silver glasses covered her eyes completely.
Behind her were two men in black suits and shades as well and a younger woman at her side with a tablet, probably her personal assistant.
"B...boss," the man stuttered.
At that same time, one door inside the store swung open and a middle-aged man rushed out, he was a bit fat so running was difficult, he almost tripped on himself.
He reached the door while huffing and puffing. "Good day, boss," he greeted with the deepest bows.
"Why am I walking into the store and the first thing I see is a scene, and you, the manager, are nowhere here to address it?" She asked, staring right at the manager who just ran out, he shivered in fear.
"I’m sorry, ma’am," he said and then looked at the man.
"What the hell is happening here?" He barked.
The man swallowed hard and then pointed at Leon. "He walked in and created a scene, I tried to remove him from the establishment."
At this point everyone in the store had their eyes on the scene and wanted to know what was happening.
"I’m not even going to allow this to drag out," Leon spoke, not waiting for the back and forth that would end in him finally winning after many long talks.
"I want to purchase a bodysuit and your guard here felt it was pretty good to kick me out because of how I look, and he did not leave any room for doubt or any room for me to show if I have the capacity to buy anything."
The boss was shocked when she heard that, she faced the guard and lowered her glasses down. Her silver eyes pinned right on him.
"Is that so? Did you profile someone in my store?"
The guard shivered, not sure what to do, he took a deep breath and finally responded.
"I am a hundred percent sure, boss, that this kid can’t pay for even the cheapest bodysuit here," he said, standing his ground.
Leon smiled when he heard that because he had browsed the best suit available, an A-ranked bodysuit called the Platinum Star, and it went for a hundred thousand credits.
They had more expensive ones, but those came on order from the headquarters itself. In fact, even for Platinum Star, they only sold one per store and you could get it only once a month.
"Then how about this," Leon spoke, "show me the best suit you have in stock, and if I cannot purchase it, I’ll kneel on the floor with my head to the ground and I will beg for your mercy right at your feet."
As soon as he declared that, their eyes widened, even the boss raised a brow.
The manager gritted his teeth. "Brat, do you know what you are talking about? Even if you wanted to bluff, must you take it that far?"
