Chapter 635: Chapter 634: I’m Not a Foster Family Child

South couldn’t be bothered to speak about Nathan; Stella went to her husband’s grave.

South followed, looking at the tombstone inscribed with Evan Osborne’s name, silently knelt at the grave, and added a stick of incense.

"Previously I was ill, muddled for over a decade, your father patiently accompanied me throughout, until his passing when I finally recalled everything."

Stella spoke, South listened; she said nothing more, and South waited for the day she would choose to speak.

The three descended the mountain, arriving at the foot of the mountain in the wee hours of the night.

Nathan drove them back to Aethelgard.

By dawn, they reached the destination, South fell asleep in the car, whereas Stella remained awake throughout.

Upon entering Aethelgard’s boundary, Stella abruptly said:

"Don’t tell Father about my return."

"Okay," Nathan replied.

"My father... never mind..." Stella ended with the word "never mind", Nathan knew she hadn’t figured out how to express her thoughts.

"I won’t tell him; having promised to protect you and South, I’ll uphold my word."

Nathan drove directly to a suburban villa where he and South currently resided; it was his private property, there was no one around for miles, and he had made it secure, perfect for their living needs.

Stella looked at Nathan, hesitating to speak.

Soon, they reached the location.

South was still asleep; once Stella stepped out of the car, she turned to see Nathan open the passenger side door, bend down, and carry South out.

South murmured something unknowingly and soon nestled into a more comfortable position in his arms.

The trust and familiarity in this scene left Stella somewhat dumbfounded.

After Nathan carried South inside, Stella waited for a while until she couldn’t hold back and said:

"Nathan, South is a big girl now, in the future..."

Before Stella could finish, Nathan interrupted:

"I’m not a child of The Foster Family."

Stella was stunned.

She knew a bit about the previous generation’s feuds; back when Harold Foster forcibly married Susan Fisher, her husband had died just over a month prior.

Afterward, Susan Fisher appeared deranged, and during her late pregnancy, she fell down the stairs, leading to a premature birth.

Stella was utterly surprised to learn Nathan wasn’t a child of The Foster Family.

If that’s the case, Nathan must be a posthumous child of the Holt Family.

Nathan watched Stella gradually come to this realization, said no more, and continued walking forward.

Then Stella finally reacted; how Nathan’s lineage connected to avoiding suspicion with South remained uncertain?

Stella watched Nathan carrying South upstairs, into the bedroom, and followed them.

Upon seeing clear signs of two people having lived in the bedroom, with Nathan’s belongings present, Stella’s mind went blank.

Once Nathan laid South down, Stella solemnly said to Nathan:

"Come with me."

Nathan said nothing, following Stella downstairs.

Stella sat on the sofa downstairs, still pondering what she had just witnessed.

It was apparent that what Nathan said about not being a child of The Foster Family indicated his feelings toward South.

Stella looked at Nathan sitting across from her, his face entirely calm, devoid of any sense of guilt.
