Chapter 123: A Strange Eidolon

Rather than talking, Vox simply started walking aimlessly looking at all the various beasts and the texture of the land. He picked up some of the surface after noticing there were sections that pulsated with life. Tyler watched in great detail and was confused. Vox didn’t look like a threat, he looked like someone intrigued by a new realm he’d never visited before.

"He looks like you did the first time you came here. This is weird," Ash said, equally confused.

"I don’t get it. He can’t be much older than Tyler, if that!" Ritsu said while watching him closely.

"Um, sir, do you have a name?" Amanda asked politely.

"It’s Vox." He said while staring off into the distance.

"Well Vox, how are you?" Tyler asked nervously.

"Are you always this nervous around Eidolons? I thought you had some of the oldest and wisest. I’m just a young Eidolon from Tiamat’s forest. I am nothing compared to these beings." Vox said while changing direction and smelling some of the plants nearby.

"Why are you always in your human form?" Nyxara asked, intrigued by the young Eidolon. He was shorter than her, not by much but he had normal skin, much like Ash did in his human form.

"I was born a mythological beast in the Forest of Unknowns," he said calmly while looking off towards a faction camp.

"What are those things?" He asked.

"Those are faction camps. This Realm falls under Bahamut and Asura’s rule and groups of Eidolons make up factions, which are like cities on Vexarra. Have you left the forest?" Tyler asked.

"No," Vox answered calmly, like he didn’t have a worry in the world.

"Aren’t you worried we’re going to charm you or torture you for information?" Sophie asked while pulling one of her katanas out and putting it to his neck.

"Not in the least." Vox said while casually walking through the sword like it didn’t exist.

"Uh, not to be rude, but what are you exactly?" Kass asked bluntly.

"I told you, a mythological beast from the forest. I have never been to this realm and it fascinates me. Where is the castle?" He asked non-chalantly.

"This way," Tyler said, while pointing his staff in the correct direction.

"Goodbye," Vox said before teleporting away.

"Wait, what the hell?" Tyler asked.

"Do you want to teleport to catch up to him?" Nyx asked.

"No, whatever he is doing he’s it doing for a reason. There’s only one possible person he could be looking for at this point and it certainly isn’t any of us." Ash said as he appeared in his human form, only to quickly change to his phoenix.

The group walked around the faction quarters and continued onward. Beasts appeared, which they took down easily. They talked about the tournament, how glad they were that the first event was over and how Tyler owed them all alone time. He grinned, trying to remember what the rotation was or where they left off with it.

They continued their journey with Shadow tracking and Ash flying brilliantly through the sky. Leviathan left to go back to his relaxation spot and Gaia was back in her realm. Vivian and Max were making up for lost time and Rex was napping. The beasts, even the legendaries, were all now easy kills for the group. Tyler allowed the girls to get as many kills in as he could under the assumption they would level up too like he did.

’Hm. Are they benefiting from the beast slaying done in this realm?’ ℯℯ𝘭.

’What the hell is going on?’ Tyler thought as he watched his ladies take down each beast effortlessly.

"Ash, your mom created this system right?"

"Yeah, why?"

"Why did it just tell me I cannot designate hosts when I asked about the level and rank of my fiancees?"

Ash almost crashed into a tree from shock.

"Wait...Designate hosts? That’s something you do to familiars. You’re a summoner, not Eidolon."

"It was just weird, that’s all. It said I have to complete my Path of the Righteous Quest to learn more." Tyler sighed.

"I think you have a lot more to worry about than that quest right now. We’re almost to the castle, I wonder what pops talked to that Vox kid about."

"I have no idea, but everything about him seems weird. Why would he willingly come with us? Isn’t he loyal to Tiamat?" Tyler prodded.

"All Eidolons are free to follow whichever gods or goddesses they want. I’m guessing he just simply asked for a way back." Ash explained.

They walked up to the castle, surprised to see Asura waiting for them.

"Hello my beautiful young friends, please, come with me, there is much to discuss."

"You look gorgeous as ever, your majesty!" Kass said with a cheeky smile. She always loved seeing Asura.

They walked with Asura to the throne room where they were surprised to see Bahamut and Vox talking.

"Tyler and his lovely wives! You have finally made it. Why didn’t you just teleport?" Bahamut laughed.

"I figured Vox wanted to talk to you and Lady Asura, so we went by foot." Tyler smiled kindly and bowed. The ladies followed his lead.

"Sorry that I left you so suddenly. I know this room is sealed from the other gods and goddesses so nothing said here could be heard by Tiamat or the others," Vox said with a gentle smile.

"How do you know that?" Tyler asked.

Ash appeared in his Eidolon form. "Mom, dad, what the heck is going on? Who is this, why is my aunt on Vexarra and why did she let Tyler live?"

"First, I think Tyler should get some rest with his wives after a nice meal. Then, we can discuss all of these matters. Until then, I will see you in the morning." Bahamut said cheerfully while sending Tyler and his wives to their bedroom in the Land of Summoned Monsters.

Back on Vexarra, the dean paced around the control room contemplating his next move.

’Everyone knows they won but I haven’t made it official yet because he’s not here. Tyler, why the hell aren’t you back? I can’t let this go to the next event without announcing you as a winner.’ He thought anxiously.

"Dean, I think it’s time you just announce the final results. The event has been over for hours." Dr. McFaggen said while holding back a yawn.

"Put the scores up and announce the winner." The Dean said to the staff.

Tyler finished up a nice dinner provided by Asura with his future wives and they all enjoyed showers. The ladies were lying in bed in the pajamas Asura kept neatly in dressers for these very occasions.

They were talking about the tournament, the wedding in two weeks and how they were going to set up this rotation with Tyler when they got back. They decided since Amanda slept with him during the tournament, Sophie, Kass and Nyx would go, then Amanda would, staring as soon as they got back.

While Tyler was taking a shower, he got an unexpected notification.
