Married the Sick Uncle – Just Waiting to Inherit His Fortune
Chapter 490: Your Intention?
Mrs. Sutton said, “Your Auntie Linden said I’m fine. I just need to rest. I’ll be all better after I get some sleep.”
Anne Sutton looked at her mother and said, “Then get some sleep!”
…
That evening, Anne Sutton stayed in the hospital room to keep her mother company.
Nathan Fawcett went home.
Finn and Ian had called and asked him to come back. They needed a parent’s signature for school.
So, Nathan Fawcett had come home.
He walked through the door and saw Sharon Sutton cooking in the kitchen.
Seeing Nathan Fawcett come in, Sharon Sutton said, “You’re back?”
Usually, when she saw Nathan Fawcett, she would politely call him “brother-in-law.”
Today, she deliberately omitted the title.
Ian and Finn were also sitting nearby. Sharon Sutton had already made the two children something to eat.
Ian didn’t know the full story and was still quite fond of his aunt, Sharon Sutton.
Nathan Fawcett stood to the side, not responding.
Sharon Sutton walked over, pulled out a chair for him, and said, “Please, sit! Dinner will be ready soon.”
Nathan Fawcett stared at the woman. “Who said you could stay here?”
Sharon Sutton stiffened at Nathan Fawcett’s words. She looked at him and said, “I can’t stay here?”
“Is this some place you can just come to?” Nathan Fawcett stared at her in disbelief.
If she hadn’t gotten lost last night and Anna Linden hadn’t brought her here, Nathan Fawcett wouldn’t have wanted to see her in his house at all.
Besides, because of Sharon Sutton, Anne Sutton’s attitude toward him had grown much colder.
He had met so many people, but he had never seen a woman so ridiculously overconfident!
Stupidity was one thing, but she was also ungrateful.
Nathan Fawcett despised this kind of brainless woman!
Sharon Sutton looked at Nathan Fawcett. His ice-cold attitude made her very afraid.
Nathan Fawcett was very hostile toward her.
‘Right. He only has eyes for Anne Sutton now, so of course he wouldn’t be polite to me.’
But she believed that as long as she could stay by his side for a while, Nathan Fawcett would definitely be moved by her.
Sharon Sutton said, “My sister isn’t here, so I’m staying to take care of Ian.”
“Your sister isn’t here. Ever wonder why?” Nathan Fawcett said. “Now, get the hell out of here.”
Ian looked at Nathan Fawcett and said, “Dad, you’re so scary.”
Nathan Fawcett looked at his silly son and said, “Stop eating. I’ll take you two out to eat in a bit.”
“Uh…” Ian said. “But Auntie has already made dinner!”
Hearing this, Nathan Fawcett said, “You don’t want to go see your mom anymore?”
At the mention of Anne Sutton, Ian’s eyes lit up. “Can I go see my mom?”
In his heart, Anne Sutton was, of course, the most important person.
Whenever Anne Sutton was mentioned, his whole face would light up.
Finn didn’t like Sharon Sutton, so he naturally went along with whatever Nathan Fawcett said.
Nathan Fawcett didn’t leave the two children at home, taking them straight out the door.
Seeing that she had already cooked for them, yet Nathan Fawcett was still taking them away, Sharon Sutton tried to stop him. “I’ve already made dinner. Can’t you eat before you go? The food outside is unhealthy.”
It would have been better if she had kept quiet. The moment she spoke, Nathan Fawcett’s face turned cold. He ordered the housekeeper standing by, “When I get back, I don’t want to see her here.”
The housekeeper nodded fearfully. “Yes.”
Nathan Fawcett led the two children out the door.
He took them to get a bite to eat, then packed some food for Anne Sutton and brought it to the hospital.
Hearing that his grandma was sick in the hospital, Ian was also happy to come for a visit.
In the hallway, Ian and Finn each held one of Nathan Fawcett’s hands. Ian asked curiously, “Dad, Grandma is sick. Why didn’t we bring Auntie with us?”
Nathan Fawcett’s gaze fell on Ian. ‘Adult matters were too complicated.’
Lately, Anne Sutton had been spending more time with Sharon Sutton, so the children had also grown closer to her.
As a result, Ian had a good impression of Sharon Sutton.
‘Now look at this mess. I have no idea how to explain it to him!’
Nathan Fawcett said, “Her brain is sick. She’s not normal right now. You should stay away from her from now on.”
After saying this, Nathan Fawcett couldn’t help but mentally pat himself on the back for his quick thinking.
‘He didn’t think he was wrong, either. Wasn’t Sharon Sutton acting like there was something wrong with her brain right now?’
‘I really don’t know what she’s thinking!’
‘She’s just making everyone miserable.’
…
Anne Sutton was sitting in the hospital room, talking with her mother, when she heard Ian’s voice at the door.
Soon after, Nathan Fawcett came in with Ian and Finn.
Ian said, “Grandma, Mom.”
He greeted them politely.
Anne Sutton saw the two little ones and Nathan Fawcett and asked him, “Why did you bring them here?”
Nathan Fawcett said, “Ian wanted to see you, so I brought him.”
He didn’t mention it had anything to do with Sharon Sutton.
‘Just mentioning that name feels like bad luck now.’
Nathan Fawcett took out the takeout food. Anne Sutton gave some to her mother and had a little herself.
She had been eating cafeteria food all day.
The hospital food wasn’t very good.
Now, seeing that Nathan Fawcett had specially ordered food for her, Anne Sutton’s mood improved considerably.
After she finished eating, she followed Nathan Fawcett out and asked him, “When are you planning to take the kids back?”
“I’ll take them back in a little while.”
Nathan Fawcett said, “What, are you planning to stay at the hospital all night and not come home?”
“I’m not coming home,” Anne Sutton said. “My mom’s sick. I’d better stay here at the hospital with her.”
Nathan Fawcett said, “Sharon Sutton is still at the Linden’s place today.”
Hearing this, Anne Sutton stared at Nathan Fawcett in disbelief. “She still hasn’t gone back?”
“When I got home, she was making food for Ian and Finn. From the looks of it, she has no intention of leaving.”
Anne Sutton’s face stiffened. She said to Nathan Fawcett, “Let her do whatever she wants! I don’t want to deal with her anymore.”
“I already had someone kick her out.”
“…”
As they were talking, Anne Sutton’s phone rang.
She glanced at the screen. It was Sharon Sutton.
She glanced at Nathan Fawcett, then picked up the phone and answered the call.
On the phone, Sharon Sutton’s tone was aggressive. “Nathan Fawcett is having me kicked out of the Linden’s place. Is this your idea?”
“…” Anne Sutton was so angry she laughed. “What are you talking about?”
Sharon Sutton said, “Didn’t you say you weren’t afraid of me stealing Nathan Fawcett from you? Then why are you so afraid of me staying at the Linden’s place? Anne Sutton, you’re just scared of me! Aren’t you?”
Anne was on the verge of laughing at her absurdity. “Nathan Fawcett doesn’t want to see you, so you come to me? Do you think trying to provoke me will let you stay at the Linden’s place? Sharon Sutton, I can hear you scheming from a mile away.”
‘She wants to stay by Nathan Fawcett’s side now, and her only way is to use her connection to me.’
Nathan Fawcett looked at Anne Sutton. He saw that while she was talking to Sharon Sutton, her eyes had turned red.
He could tell how angry Sharon Sutton’s attitude made Anne Sutton, but more than that, she was probably disappointed.
Nathan Fawcett took her phone, put it to his ear, and said, “Sharon Sutton.”
