Chapter 492: Tell Her to Come In

‘Just like a clown!’

She followed Anna Linden back to the Sutton family home.

Before she even stepped inside, she saw the two children playing on the lawn.

Having stayed here for the past few days, Ian and Finn had become very familiar with the place.

The only trouble was having to wake up a bit earlier for their classes every day. Everything else was great.

Sharon Sutton stood at the door. Anna Linden went inside without paying her any mind.

She remembered that she had argued with Mrs. Sutton and then with Anne Sutton. Now, wanting to go in felt quite awkward.

She just stood at the entrance, motionless.

Anna Linden went inside.

Anne Sutton saw her. “Dr. Linden.”

Today, Anne Sutton was the one cooking.

Anne Sutton’s cooking skills were incredible.

She was in no way inferior to Mrs. Sutton.

It was after tasting Anne’s cooking that Anna Linden had become so obsessed with the food Mrs. Sutton made.

Anna Linden said, “Sharon came with me just now.”

Hearing Sharon Sutton’s name, Anne Sutton paused for a moment. “I thought she wouldn’t be coming.”

Anna Linden glanced outside and said, “She should still be at the door. I don’t know what happened between you all, and I didn’t ask.”

Anne Sutton smiled. “Don’t worry about her. Please, have a seat. Nathan went next door to find Caleb Summers. He should be back in a little while.”

Anna Linden said, “I’ll go talk to your mother.”

With that, she went to find Mrs. Sutton.

Sharon Sutton stood at the door. Ian saw her. “Auntie.”

Hearing him, Sharon Sutton nodded. “Mm-hmm.”

She wanted to go in but felt awkward. After all, they had argued, and she had her pride to consider.

Just then, Nathan Fawcett and Caleb Summers walked over.

Caleb Summers was a little touched that Nathan Fawcett had been merciful enough to let him come over for dinner.

Of course, the only reason Nathan Fawcett had invited him over was because he had helped find Sharon Sutton last time.

As the two of them approached, they saw Sharon Sutton standing at the door.

Upon seeing her, Nathan Fawcett’s expression immediately darkened.

Sharon Sutton heard their voices and turned around. Seeing Nathan Fawcett for the first time in days, Sharon Sutton greeted him, “Mr… Mr. Fawcett.”

Nathan Fawcett didn’t even look at her, walking straight through the door.

Caleb Summers watched him go inside, then his gaze fell back on Sharon Sutton, realizing that Nathan Fawcett had just completely ignored her.

Caleb Summers said, “Where have you been these past few days? No one’s seen you! I thought you’d gone back to Westhaven!”

“Why would I go back to Westhaven?” Sharon Sutton looked at Caleb Summers, finding his question incomprehensible.

Caleb Summers said, “Nathan wants to send you back to Westhaven to work at the Fawcett Group. I don’t know if you’d be willing.”

“He wants to send me away?” Sharon Sutton clenched her fists tightly. ‘This must be Anne Sutton’s idea again!’

Hah!

Sharon Sutton said, “Anne Sutton can’t wait to get rid of me.”

Although Caleb Summers hadn’t been fond of Anne Sutton recently, feeling she was too cold toward Nathan Fawcett, hearing Sharon Sutton speak like this still made him uncomfortable. “What’s going on between you and Anne Sutton? No matter what, she’s still your sister… and she’s been pretty good to you. There’s no need to use that tone when you talk about her, is there?”

Sharon Sutton said, “You’ve been by Nathan Fawcett’s side the longest. Do you think Nathan Fawcett and Anne Sutton can stay together forever?”

Caleb Summers didn’t know why Sharon Sutton was asking him this.

But faced with her question, he still shared his opinion. “I don’t think so. Anne Sutton doesn’t have Nathan in her heart at all! Your sister is a bad person! She’s just taking advantage of Nathan’s love for her to bully him.”

Hearing this, Sharon Sutton said to Caleb Summers, “It seems you and I think alike.”

“Your fight with Anne Sutton… it wasn’t because of Nathan, was it?”

At the mention of this, Sharon Sutton’s expression stiffened, but she didn’t deny it.

She nodded.

She could sense that Caleb Summers disliked Anne Sutton, too.

Sharon Sutton said to Caleb Summers, “I want to be with Nathan Fawcett.”

Hearing this, Caleb Summers’s eyes widened. He looked at Sharon Sutton in disbelief. “What did you say?”

“Anne Sutton already rejected Nathan Fawcett’s proposal. I want to be with him. Is that not allowed?”

Now that he had heard her clearly, Caleb Summers was so amused he burst out laughing. “Are you kidding me? You think our Nathan has such bad taste? That he’d be interested in you? What the hell are you? An idiot who’s been messed around with by other men!”

Sharon Sutton gritted her teeth, not expecting Caleb Summers to be so cruel.

She looked at the man in front of her. “How can you talk like that?”

“Was I too harsh?” Caleb Summers said. “I’m starting to think our Nathan has been too agreeable lately, making every nobody think they can walk all over him. If you don’t have the money, I can buy you a mirror so you can take a good, long look at yourself.”

Sharon Sutton gritted her teeth. “If Anne Sutton can, why can’t I? She used to be with Charles Prescott! Besides, I was the one who was supposed to be with Nathan Fawcett in the first place.”

She was truly about to cry from anger at Caleb Summers’s hurtful words.

Hearing her words, Caleb Summers just curled his lip. “You were the one? Who are you? Are you saying you’re worthy of our Nathan? Even Anne Sutton isn’t good enough for him, let alone you! I may not like Anne Sutton, but compared to her, you’re not even in the same league. Understand?”

He couldn’t believe this kind of woman actually existed. Caleb Summers was about to die of anger.

‘People are getting more and more shameless these days.’

He also hadn’t expected that he himself would become a reason for the conflict between Sharon Sutton and Anne Sutton.

Inside, Anne Sutton was almost done cooking.

After Nathan Fawcett came in, he helped her carry the dishes and set the table.

He was incredibly diligent.

Caleb Summers stood to the side, watching his boss, unable to believe Nathan Fawcett could be so hardworking.

‘He’s only this good to Anne Sutton!’

He even helped Anne Sutton with the housework.

He just hadn’t expected that Sharon Sutton would also want to be doted on by Nathan Fawcett, just like Anne Sutton!

The whole family was called down, and they began to get ready for dinner.

Sharon Sutton stood at the door. They had all gone inside, leaving only her standing there, like a clown.

After a short while, Butler Walters came over. “Ms. Sutton.”

Sharon Sutton looked at Butler Walters, knowing he was one of Nathan Fawcett’s men, and said, “What is it?”

Butler Walters said, “Mr. Fawcett asks you to come in.”

Hearing this, Sharon Sutton was in disbelief. “Really?”

‘She knew it…’

‘Nathan Fawcett wouldn’t just ignore her!’

‘He’s such a good person!’

‘How could he bear to see her standing here all alone?’

Sharon Sutton accepted the invitation and walked inside.

She saw them all eating as a family.

Nathan Fawcett was sitting next to Anne Sutton, placing food on her plate.

He was very meticulous, even picking out all the bones from the fish before placing it on her plate.
